CollectorVision Phoenix Pre-Order is now live!
thedoppelganger replied to Bmack36's topic in ColecoVision / Adam
Sorry if there's been any offence caused by me mentioning the 'P" word in this thread. Consider me smacked! The Phoenix is a dream come true. Collectorvision have previously mentioned they may develop a proper contol pad. Is the Opcode pad now going to be that pad, or do Collectorvision have a seperate project of their own still in mind ? -

Finally! A real Coleco controller !!! I had (and sold ) Mousetrap and Wargames with overlays. I presume they are in the set you're wanting to produce ? You have my attention !!!! -

Which sub forum are you referring to? Could you link? Here's a fantasy that I already suggested in the Polymega (Retroblox) thread here..... http://atariage.com/forums/topic/261689-retroblox/page-88?do=findComment&comment=4250586 Polymega say they would welcome third party modules. Could Collectorvision and Polymega collaborate to produce an Atari2600 / Colecovision module. FPGA or emulaution ? It's maybe a wild fantasy, but don't we all have those ? -
I think I too may have dropped a clanger. When I earlier compared Virtua Racing running via Fusion 3.61 on my Windows PC with Polymega's Youtube videos, I must have been comparing Megadrive to 32X (I don't have the Saturn rom). A sort of admin error where used I the wrong video - where have we seen that before ? Anyway, sorry Polymega Team! Hopefully Polymega are reading this and grasp that we are not being critical for the sake of it - it's because we really really really want this to actually work out.

Fusion 3.61 on Windows 7 is my go to for Sega emulation at this time. I've played my VR roms and watched the video uploads. I hope there's an issue with the capture/uploads because my roms play far smoother than the video looks.....

I've lurked without commenting as all this has unfolded. I'd really like this to be a success, but then I'd also like it to be what was originally promised 3 years ago. OMG have I really been watching this thing for 3 years. I hope Polymega do read this thread - I don't and won't do Twitter (just a lurker...) so I can't point them here. It needs to be flash cart compatible and/or play ROMS. The Collectorvision Phoenix has got my attention now - it promises FPGA Atari 2600VCS and Coleco/ADAM support - all of which Polymega promised in their original (now deleted) forums. Here's a fantasy - Polymega have said they would welcome third party modules - what about getting together with Collectorvision. There will be no pre order from me unless and until it's a real product that does everything that was promised and is available and testable hands-on at retail. Aside from my VCS and my Coleco (which I sold to pay for my upgrade to SMS) I still have all my consoles and they all still work. So the one box HD thing appeals but it will never happen.

Emailed to them via the contact button on their web site in November: Given that you have not reached any goals beyond the original 500k, it seems there will be no further element modules beyond the initial 4. There's no activity on Twitter or Facebook and nothing on your new web site. It's fair to assume then that Polymega is going no further and is as good as dead. It was a nice dream, but I can now only assume it's over. On 20th November they replied - it went into Spam so was only recently found: Since the pre-order is wrapped up we are no longer marketing the console until the initial preorders have shipped, which is what we're focused on at the moment. As for future modules, everything costs money (obviously!) and since the goals weren't hit we can't make any guarantees on those specific modules. But, that doesn't mean they won't ever happen. We expect Polymega to be available through at least 2028, and a lot can happen between now and then. Thankfully, retro games aren't going anywhere! Best -- Team Polymega Make of it what you will…..

I'm really talking to any lurkers out there who are maybe reading this but are not members. People who have maybe searched for information and come across this forum. So if that's you, please do join up and tell us your tales or woes......

Is there anyone reading this who's put money into Polymega ? If so, are you receiving any contact from them? Have they refunded you? Have you maybe had your credit card company recover your money where possible? To be clear, I HAVE NOT put any money into it - thank goodness....

Sold my 2600VCS to buy a Coleco. Sold that too but I've kept everything else since - all still working. Having it all back some way would be magic. Like others though, I'd want proper controllers that will take the overlays before I commit. Home made overlays would be easy enough to create these days. I'm watching this with some very serious interest! -
It's all gone very quiet. No activity on their web site or social media. Can we assume Poymega is dead? Does anyone know if refunds are happening ?
