  1. I can do a modified version for NTSC, sure. For my first game, I did not bother to setup the colors in RAM and use them as color-values. I do setup a PAL-flag depending on the Color/BW-switch Neither did I match-up 50/60fps gameplay/timers. But I did look at NTSC/PAL variants to have some colors that or not odd. So green grass for PAL and brown soil for NTSC. So what I can do is using the modified colors in ROM, giving NTSC the PAL-colors, ending up with a changed PAL-version. Just drop me a reply here and I get to it.
  2. Here you are :-) ZIP-file includes: 4k ROM-files gif, box-art jpg, face-label jpg, top-label pdf, manual
  3. ! 100 downloads in 48 hours ! Thank you very much.
  4. Some last minute changes, many thanks to all beta-testers. 24 hours until upload......
  5. Nah, that's not so cool as using the Color/BW-switch. I will include a NTSC-only version is you want to run it on a system/emulator without this switch.
  6. Good point about PAL/NTSC-selection. The reason for default/PAL is, that I live in Netherlands :-) The only physical switch I could use is difficulty, since that is connected to IO. I have a go at this before launch, thanks.
  7. Hi Every one, This year my present to the community is this fast and funny game. Just for information: It's my very first attempt to write something for the VCS Game, Music-tracker and winning-tunes, I wrote myself. The intro-music is composed by my nephew Marc Jaschusch. The game is free, for personal use only. For Harmony, emulator or home-brew if you can do this. All you need will be ready for download before Christmas. Found here: http://www.mr-atari.com/defyocas/ Picture used is Liverpool Castle (UK) ho-ho-ho, merry Christmas :-) Cheers, Sijmen.
  8. No RAM will give black screen, nothing further. The memory tests does need some good ram cells to run. So without nothing happens. Bad rams in XEGS is a very common issue, running extremely hot. Just replace and you are fine.
  9. Atarimax-forum, R16-thread, first post, get the zip-file and have a look. :-)
  10. I answered parts of this on the atarimax-forum. Short addition: MyBIOS uses the same RAM as a stock OS, nothing fancy. But remember the MyBIOS-RAM runs from the 16k below the stock OS and so this memory can't be used by others. Same goes for SDX, that also uses this OSRAM for it's own needs. Beside that: You can setup your CF-card as flexible as you want. Use APT/SDX Use FAT with the loader MyBIOS and the MyIDE-partitions. All three together on one CF-card, how wonderful. Flashing: Better NOT customize your MyIDE-][ flash-portion before you know what you are doing. Always start with the MyIDE-][.bin as downloaded from the MyIDE-][ forum. You MUST include the FAT-loader in your custom-content always if you have NO SIO2something! Beside that, as in the 80's just trail and error, see yourself what happens. For using SDX or MyBIOS advanced knowledge of how the Atari computer works is vital. Later, Sijmen.
  11. Hi Avery, I also use the "ATARI XL ADDENDUM" frequently. This has the changes from 400/800 to (12000) XL. It reflects also the main changes to 800 XL. What is not documented here are the PBI-details... Having a compatible OS is a pita, you are right about people (ab)using OS variables and OS entry points. I guess about now 20% of MyBIOS are patches to coop with these issues. Beside that I try not to re-use global OS variables, better set them to a known value even not used in the alternative OS. Anyhow, for anybody who want to try an alternative OS that also supports MyIDE-][, HSIO, BT and 400/800: www.mr-atari.com/MyBIOS for the latest work in progress Cheers, Sijmen.
  12. Hmmm, I can't load XEGS-cartridges (also in the 2.80 final version). The attachment is NOT a zip, I just added the .zip extension. Since I can not upload a .mdmp-file. Later!
  13. Almost there..... I get the MyIDE-][-MENU from time to time on powerup. Sometimes the complete screen, sometimes partial, sometimes corrupt. I hear one beep as if the user pressed a key or moved the joystick. But it locks-up directly afterwards. So it seems the bank present in A000-BFFF is not stable. When I keep pressing RESET and it finally boots over SIO (from APE): (the OS ignores the bad ROM) I can load files and also stream video from CF, so IDE-access is stable. Hoop this is something to work on. .... Currently trying to make it boot again over SIO to load the MyIDE-][ diagnostic software..... ..... All test done, it has no problems, so why does it not boot.??..?? ..... Doing a MyIDE-][ recovery flash to 4.9.B17 and try again. ..... Recovery successful. ..... Boot again to a in-stable menu. Beeps locks and or partial display. Back to you Jacek. :-) Last edit.... I tried repeatedly hitting enter directly after powerup. Got to load MyBIOS and it seems to works. hehehe! So why the in-stable Menu. ATARIMAX uses DLI/NMI extensively to create the colorful display. Something to look at vector-pulls / disabled IRQ-flag?
  14. Sure, yee lets see. I've got mail..... I moved Antonia to my test-PCB (all sockets were I can test atari-IC's). Yes, Antonia is back to life again. :-) No keyboard, no nothing. But I get READY and STARRAIDERS looks ok. So now to move it back to my 816-case.... And continue on the MyIDE-][ quest.
  15. Can you pm me the .pof? my flashing resulted in a gr.9 screen with corrupted Ref/Halt..... atari seems to boot and works, but cant read the screen. thanks.
  16. Yes, if bootstrapping from tape fails (with OPTION pressed), it has nothing to do and enter the selftest-mode. If you tested and all 3 tapes fail, most likely your recorder is bad. tape-drive mechanism has to much fluctuation..... drive-belt issues or just years of dust.
  17. Or your cassette-recorder has issues..... What game are you trying to load? Try the other side, most tapes are recorded on both.
  18. Updated MyBIOS, build #3 (30-7-2016) -Increased more reliable IO over BT. -Changed HSIO approach on serial devices in general. -Now supports devices working on 19k2, 38k4 and 57k6 baud. -Fixed the 850 boot-up failure. Also modified the 2 tools. BTCONFIG.XEX (Bluetooth config tool) SIO-TERM.XEX (Simple SIO terminal program) -exit to MyIDE-][ menu when loaded with the fat-loader. Please read the .txt files for more info. http://www.mr-atari.com/MyBIOS/
  19. I'm sure it's hardware related problem. At the moment I can not pinpoint the cause But something/somehow is upsetting MyIDE-][ with the 20130303-core. The 20120907-core is less picky in MMU-timing and -seems- to work fine. But has it's issues with in-stable Atari's.... MyBIOS is separate, loaded from flash, but when flash is inaccessible, so is the BIOS..... No chicken, No egg, what was first? Stay Tuned.....
  20. I have no idea, it will take some time to get things measured and sorted out. Probably the firmware will be a fix not an update. Since the current firmware is stable on all A8 out there. ATARIMAX produces MyIDE-][ batchwise. The early batches had 20120907 and the later 20130303. The only way to tell what you have is with the aid of atarimax-usb-programmer. Like I said, MMU-timing is very critical and A8 itself is a random mess in respect to their productions. When you compare signals from 1200/XL/XE, country (ANTIC/GTIA-combo) and various types of CPU used...... With all respect, MyIDE-][ does a very good job in being compatible.
  21. At the moment Steve and I are working in this issue. The 65816 has a different signal output on the MMU, making the MyIDE nonfunctional. Same goes for the U1MB and other upgrades that take over MMU-functions. At the moment, I have MyIDE-][ working with an older firmware. I do not recommend downgrading, but it works..... When you know what you are doing, you can downgrade your MyIDE-][ core CPLD firmware. From the latest 20130303 (that in on your cartridge) to 20120907. But you need the atarimax-usb-programmer to change CPLD-core firmware. And the bin-file Please send a p.m. for this.
  22. I'm going to upload the new MyBIOS with dynamic baudrate over SIO soon. This bios supports any device at speeds from 19k2 and upwards. ID will be #18 and up. The rom version runs stand-a-lone and has MyIDE-][ support. It runs fine with BT set at 57k6 baud :-) RWTEST speeds of 3kB/s....
  23. New SIO2BT configuration-tool is almost ready. Final testing in progress. This programs runs on your Atari and let you select/change baud-rate, BT-name and BT-pin. Stay tuned..... :-)
