53 minutes ago, bonehead said:Tommy - big fan of what you're doing and am happy to support the project. You and the folks at Intellivision just seem to 'get' it. Initally I backed the VCS, but bailed after the ensuing sh*t show with with all the faked gameplay footage and photoshopped contollers. Plus I dont think Atari (I use the term loosely!) have any idea or clue what their system is supposed to be. One day its a computer, the next day its an indie game platform. The next a retro gaming machine. You guys seem to have not only a concrete plan for this thing, but also a clear vision...and more importantly passion! Good grief every interview with the Atari folks feels like its being conducted inside a funeral parlor.
I just wanted something 'simple' I could pick up and play after work with the kids (maybe even the wife!) and not have to worry about installing freaking Windows or Linux. Having grown up through Atari, NES, Sega, PSX...each generation of machines adds more buttons and joysticks to the controller that half the time I dont even know what the hell I'm pressing any more. Not to sound like some cranky old fart but for casual folks like me this is 'exactly' the system I've been waiting for, for years. I hope this thing is a smashing success and I look forward to getting the founders edition before 10/10.
Best wishes!
I resemble this remark. Except for the casual part. I just built my own arcade stick for my Vader. To play Berzerk. I was sold on Amico before, but after the video of Nightstalker, I was caught hook, line, and sinker.

You know, that game with the folding dual screens and the little pegs, and little plastic ships? Add players. Suddenly you add an element of strategy, We can form alliances to pick off players. You can add intrigue. The blue player sent me a cue on my controller that he wants to attack green.. he has a price, I need to hand over a Cruiser.. should I deceive my allies and switch sides? You have new gameplay mechanics, *because* you’re not limited to what everyone can see happening on the tv screen (all controllers can display private information), but all players can see the play field, can see the attacks on each other happening, can visualize the alliances and treachery unfolding. You can toggle your touchscreen view between up to eight players potential ship locations.. see quickly how each player is doing. Because the game can track hits on each ship, you can introduce a play mechanic - move ships during turns. Maybe a hit ship can only move so much. Maybe an unhit ship has wide open freedom... more maneuverability, more strategy to evolve as the game progresses. Nobody can cheat - a hit is a hit, and the game doesn’t devolve to sweeping the board looking for enemy ships.
Diplomacy anyone? That's a good for one family night.

But those are 2 different drinks...If memory serves, Half and Half, is half Guinness, half Harp lager (Both Irish) with Guinness poured last over the spoon so it gradates dark to light before your first sip. A Black and Tan is half Guinness and half Bass Pale Ale poured the same way.
Interesting. Learned about the Black and Tan thing from a coworker who called Bushmill's (I think) Protestant Piss Water, so I've always asked for a Half-and-Half and then they usually ask if I want Bass or Harp. One time the server offered Smithwicks. The Black and Tan references something with the English military and that's still a testy subject in some quarters.

We didn't go through with it though. 😜
Don't ever. EVER. Order a Black and Tan. Half-and-half is the correct answer.

All three games for Activision's Barnstorming can be beaten in less than a minute each.
Actually there are a few Activision games that if you can beat them in less than a minute or two will get you a patch. Grand Prix and Skiing come to mind.

I am not trying to pander or insult, serious question, or is all the trash that Atari puts out like T-shirts and Hats that have $2 Bluetooth chips in them appeal to old individuals like me suffering from Trigeminal Nostalgia?
If so I have ideas
-Atari branded Incadenscent flashlights
-Atari branded cookies
-Atari branded pens
-Atari branded watches that play LCD crappy versions of popular Atari games! (Ok this is a good one)
-Atari branded Branders to brand cattle with Atari logo
-Atari branded Atari videogame sys... oh wait
-Atari branded bumper stickers that say "Honk if you still play Atari!"
-Atari branded Waffle/Pancake maker, so you can eat Atari for breakfast
-Atari branded headphones so you can rock Atari beeps and Boops
-Atari branded USB drives
-Atari branded socks
-Atari branded cufflinks
-Atari branded posters in the style of "The Rise of Skywalker" might as well mooch off the end of SW! they mooched from Atari, Lightsabers look like PONG!
-Atari branded Brandy, (every idiot celebrity has a drink now)
-Atari branded Cologn/Perfume (every idiot celebrity has a scent now)
-Atari branded S3X toys, "Have you played with your Atari today?"
Intellivision is making the Waffle maker. Saturday morning waffles and video games for the win.

You know Atari could end the little brewhaha in this thread if they just posted an update or something about the games their machine will allow us to play. At least give us an update to let us know when they are going to post some gameplay footage or something.
I'm just sad that I don't expect to have any taco money next October... Wait, the Amico will be like $100 less than the Taco box. My family won't be able to live high on the hog, but we'll still be able to have tacos.
Uh oh, I just thought of something. Tommy, are the controllers taco resistant?

Based on this in-depth review, I played the game for the first time tonight. I didn't encounter any of the empty game play the reviewer talks about. I think the grade should be a little higher. Maybe somewhere around a +.

I wish I could afford something like that. Although, I'd be afraid to take it anywhere for fear of damaging it. I still use my Pocket Go because it was so cheap.

5.94
My buddy and I were at work on my flashback. He got his 5.94 and sometime later that day I got mine. We'd been playing all of the Activision games for the patches. As soon as we got the scores we quit and moved on to different games.

I'd probably have to buy one for each of the kids then. They'd lose the damn contorllers around the house somewhere. Still a brilliant idea.

Yeah i see ur point in the one pic.. my question by looking at them isnt the red back the onyx wheres the other one…
rivetgun0 1 hour agoI would say the CPU is inside and they could be Powers up. Going off the fact the usb, HDMI and power plugs are installed. With a delay of a few weeks I don’t see them making photo props. Was happy with the update just wish we could have gotten a front pic.
At first I thought it was a braided cable. Now I'm pretty sure it's a shoelace holding this shit together. Make sure to tuck that shit in; don't want to fall on your face right before the finish line Atari.

Original games or homebrew... either are good.
Select Game 33 for one player and Game 66 for alternating two players. The manual says these variants have slow asteroids, hyperspace, and earn an extra ship at 5,000 points. I don't think there is a functional difference between these and games 1 (one player) and 34 (two players).

I can't get past 7. I always have a star that either travels behind and at the same speed as the clouds or so close to the horizon that a can't hit it long enough without hitting the clouds or it crossing and docking me energy. I'm playing on my Harmony cart so I don't know if I have a crappy rom or what.

New Atari Console that Ataribox?
in Atari 2600

Atari SA gave Tacos filled with Corona virus to the workers in the factory in China to delay production. Who wouldn't turn away Corona and tacos? Certainly not the Chinese. That's what Atari was betting on.
EDIT: 69th post. Do i get anything for that. Maybe a taco in my fac
