  1. My mistake, I didn't watch the video, but saw it listed on the Discord posts. Big Thanks!
  2. Hello, I've seen several postings about this Action! library on GitHub, how do I find it? Can you provide a link? Thanks!!
  3. That's great!! Very big thanks - this is an AWESOME community!!
  4. Can anyone tell me where exactly is the horizontal POT control is on the monitor circuit board? These are the only ones I have found...
  5. I'm having a very simular problem when connecting a SM124 to a Atari 1040STFM. Now when connecting a color monitor it works just fine. Did you find a fix or input from the community? thanks

  7. Hello, I have had the EXACT same experience of starting out on an Atari 400. I had to work my butt off to buy it and then more work just to get a cassette drive. Then I programmed the heck out of that computer, storing hundreds of programs to tape. That was back between 1981-1985. I kept everything for decades and then tried to load some of those old programs I wrote. Sadly, many were un-readable. I’m also a developer today and would happily try to read those tapes and send you whatever is salvageable (or upload to Atariage, or any other site and then return the tapes if you want. Let me know here or direct email if you’re interested. Steve sadevelopers@gmail.com
  8. If not already recommended - check out the awesome video tutorials by Dave Arlington on youtube. He has been vigilently and frequesntly posting tutorials for beginners and experienced ACTION! developers for a few months now. Please leave comments for him to show your support. https://youtube.com/channel/UC4mkNmb5LPFQn5KI-VYKBhg
  9. Can anyone tell me the best current device to get software onto an Atari ST? Is a Gotek floppy emulator the best way to go? Recommended place to buy from? thanks
  10. That looks great!!! Yes I think you should expand the selection for XE's and ST's. I would be interested in buying them. thanks
  11. I do have those volumes as .DCM files as well as all the Antic magazine (as PDF) and software disks. I'll try to make them into .ATR files and post them.
  12. Thanks for all the responses. I just wanted to check the forums before I went and created something redundant. I have checked all the regular sources such as archive.org, and found most of the full magazine scans in PDF form, which is a good start. So I will post and publish the files of magazine covers as a collection here and on other forums when it's ready. - Many thanks
  13. Hello All, Does anyone know of a hi-res collection of vintage computer magazine covers? I wanted to check here before I started searching and scanning on my own. I going to make a screensaver (as well as desktop wallpaper collection) for Mac & PC's. My particular favorite magazine from my early days are the COMPUTE! for Atari magazines. Thanks

  15. I have started converting many old program to FastBasic 4, and yes it's really in code execution but one thing baffles me. Why does it not support 2 dimensional numeric arrays? This just doesn't make any sense! This is a HUGE issue and so many programers use and need multi-dimensional arrays to coding. Having to multiply out indexes to find a position within a single dimension array is a PITA. There's always going to be a problem accessing a value or reading during debugging. Trying to get away from the HORRIFIC problem on strings Atari's original Basic and now I'm right back where I started. Quickly leaning towards Pascal, Action! or C at this point!!!!
  16. I finally bought an Intellivision flashback and was sorely disappointed with the menu. It really looks like crap, and same for the Atari flashback. The actual games look fairly close to the original. But why would they go to the effort and expense to build this console, and not use current available and cheap video components for the menu presentation. It's really difficult to read, and apparently that have made all the consoles like this.
  17. ParanoidLittleMan - Of course that all makes sense. Big Thanks for your help!! I just wish there was some kind of diagnostic tool/method to use since this is such a beautiful machine. Thanks again
  18. I assume you mean the PSU in the computer and not the monitor, right? I also tried using the television/rca output to a old TV and also go nothing. I checked the power supply and only one capacity had a swollen top, even though it still powered on. Should I only replace that capacitor or the whole power supply? thanks
  19. I just acquired an Atari STFM with a SM124 and SC124 monitor. When starting it up for the first time, the monitor does power on as well as the computer, it accesses the floppy drive, but the video output is not working. See attached photo and video. The SM124 monitor has the white line but the SC124 has no video at all. Not sure if it's a monitor problem or an internal video card problem. Any ideas? thanks AtariSM124monitor_problem.mpg
