Now that is something I have never seen before. Blister packs for VCS games. Thank you for enlightening me. Are there instructions behind the games or printed on the back on the pack?

Thanks for your comment, when I first started to collect the Brazilian carts, I was surprised how small the boxes were compared to the main manufacturers, I will post more as I take photos ? I have got some others hangers from Brazil with the 'full size' boxes as well.
Yes please that would be greatly appreciated. When I used to collect I never came across any Brazilian games with a box and most of the obscure ones I have never seen proof of them ever having a box on release so any pics would be fantastic.

I have a collection of about 288 different prototypes, would there be any interest in helping me catalogue them? I could post a zip or share them on Google Drive or something if there is.
Most of what I have is already built off of Smokemonster and a few other sources so it should be pretty accurate as-is.
It would be nice to see them and there is always a keen interest on cataloguing any prototypes. You might surprise us with something new no matter how minor. Always good to compare what is already known.

You know its funny for although I always knew these things came boxed but I was beginning to doubt myself until I saw the above. Definitely not what I expected. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you for clarifying.

Are these the last or are there any more in the works?

Very nice. Thank you for sharing.

I loved the random factor of the tanks warping around the screen to often end up right behind your tank. As chas10e already mentioned the biggest problem of the game was finding a 2nd player but when you did hours of fun awaited you.

Back in the 80's a lot of people panned this game and I was one of them but in 2000 dug it out and played with a couple of friends and boy were we converted. Tank Pong has to be one of the wildest, most frantic games ever released for the 2600 for you lose all thought but getting in that telling shot as the score flashes down. Like a fine wine its fun has aged well.

Rom will be asking you for clearer shots of the box. First time I saw one with a box. Congrats.

Nothing unreleased or anything like that. Lots of beta versions of existing games.
Ok thank you for the update. Appreciated. Looking forward to reading them.

The rarest game, I have, nobody else has, because I wrote it. And, no, you will not see it, nor will you get a ROM of it.
Well if its that bad perhaps you did the rest of us a favour keeping it to yourself ?

Jesus I am floored with shock at this discovery. Now just need to pick myself up off the damn floor and play it.

So is it confirmed that one copy existed?

Hi River Patroller,
GOLD RUSH™ has been written entirely from scratch because I don't want to infringe upon any rights Activision has to the original code. The original prototype code can be viewed once the original prototype .BIN is released.
Ah I was not aware of that, thank you for clarifying.

With the many advances made over the years how hard would it be to add a generator and the escaping shuttle at the end?

I really hope the original prototype gets released eventually. Although I'm not sure if that's possible with Activision still being around. It's not like he can really do it anonymously.
Thing is though once he has finished the game wont it then have the original prototype code within it?

I loved that game. I collected aluminum cans throughout the neighborhood so I could purchase it...
Sure, it was limited by the 4K size but at least the 2600 had an official release. Parker Bros didn't release it - or Jedi Arena - for the Atari 5200 and Atari 8-bits. They did make an Intellivision version of ESB and apparently, there's now a homebrew version for the Colecovision. Maybe those versions have extras in them...
Yes but the Intellivision version is not much different from the VCS even with the extra memory. An opportunity lost.

So if the game was (as per that link) never released, was that ad just something that was proposed but never actually ran anywhere? It sure looks like it came from an actual newspaper, and with all the info provided, it certainly sounds like the game was 'ready to go'. So did it run and they were just REALLY jumping the gun?
Well Madden Football had a video ad for the game which many believe was never finished so this one was probably the same, an attempt to drum up enough interest to self fund it. Just a theory.

Let me know if anyone finds any differences between this rom and the one I reviewed. They *should* be the same, but who knows?

Perhaps its just me but this one seemed a little harder than the one I played but then again perhaps it is just my memory playing tricks on me as it has been a while.

Thank you Rom for the information. I really need to study your site more In all my years of collecting I never found any blister packs for the bulk of the foreign releases I managed to attain were always loose so I had no idea what the original packaging once was.
