1. Just caught this thread. I remember watching that guy crawl up the ladder only to have it lock up after 15 minutes. I still have the tapes and already made CAS files out of them. I'm attaching them to this post. Now you can watch jumpman RUN up that ladder!! Epyx___Jumpman.zip
2. I think it would be a great buying incentive to be able to make your own simple games. They could just have a usb port and SD slot to take care of the keyboard and storage problems. Maybe Turbo BASIC instead of Atari Basic though. Advan BASIC would also be good I hear.

Final Builds

Congratulations on the Final Build! It was fun following along the development all this time. The game looks absolutley stunning!
4. I always thought this was a fun game: Gauntlet (not the "Gauntlet" everyone knows, a totally different title.) http://atari.fandal.cz/detail.php?files_id=1993
5. For some reason the files didn't show up. Let me try again using a zip file. Here goes: PAM.ZIP
6. Ooop, didnt see the add attachment button here is the game. I think it came on a Flippy originally. Gobo
7. I know but I wanted a rhyme Anyway, the game does appear on eBay from time to time. OK, maybe once a year or so... Unfortunately, most of the die-hard fans of the day don't frequent the AtariAge boards or maybe just as lurkers... Otherwise, we'd be more than just 20-25 regulars here... -- Atari Frog http://www.atarimania.com Sorry, I didn't notice the ryme, if I had, I probably would have understood your use of the word. My bad. Don't frequent Atari Age boards?!? Is there a BETTER site for 8-bits? I mean, I know there are some other 8-bit forums out there some where, I haven't gone to them in, like, forever though becuase they always seemed pretty dead when I last checked several years ago...so show me the sites...please. I'll ask about P.A.M. on those sites. So, let's get a poll going here in this thread; who is a die-hard regular here, besides me, that has been a die-hard since the 80's? In the mean-time, I guess I'll have to save P.A.M. as a regular search on E-bay and check once a week or so...has anyone tried searching the .ATR sites for the other titles in P.A.M. yet? Since we know them now from the scanned review. Hi I was just going through my old box of Atari Floppies to convert them to disc iamges and I have this game. I have the disk images for it now. If someome can tell me what to do I'll upload them. Gobo
8. That's great! Really adds to it. Love it when there are 3 balls blowing bricks out and causing alot of flashing. Gonna definitely buy this on cart when it's finished.
9. Okay. It would be great as an option. I think the flashes really add to the 'explosion' feeling.
10. Been following this thread since Warlords was one of my all time favorites. I love how this has come along. The only thing that I think is missing are the white flashes when a brick is destroyed. We used to play the original in a darkened room and it was cool, almost like having a strobe effect. Will this be in the final version?
11. Thanks alot! V_Blank_PM.zip 1018759 Thanks for the program. Been looking for something like that for a while. In this case though I was looking for one of those ML subroutines that keep running even after you stop the BASIC Program. So if I move the paddles, the sprites will still go back and forth (horizontally) even after I hit the Break Key. Right now the program actually uses a ML routine that moves the PM's with the Joystaick even after Break is pressed. I have always wanted it to use the paddles though. The routine you gave will let me really improve the ball though. I've attached the program if you are curious. You need Basic installed. Thanks again 1019516 "PROGRAM.090" on side B does what your asking. It's a "LOAD" file, although some of the others are "ENTER" files. Hmmm, go figure. Basic_Turbocharger.zip Many other routines to use on these disks. Have fun. 1019706

14. Hi Does anyone know of one of those old Machine Language Routines (Like the one Analog use to publish), that will let you control the position of 2 player sprites horizontally in Basic during the intterupt? Kind of like in a horizontal Pong. Or of a Basic program that acheived this? I have an old Basic game that just reads the paddle value and draws the player there but its very jerky. It would be so much better/smoother if I could find this.
15. Hi I think a 64K Atari 8bit would be the best choice. Maybe an Atari400 Replica since a keyboard would be cheap. The 8-bit has by far the best choice of games. It would be cool if they would include Atari Basic (maybe Basic XL or Advan Basic) with some way to save your creations (Flash mem). I think it would be a really cool marketing feature to be able to program your own games just like the old days. Maybe some way to add an external USB keyboard. Cost is going up as I speak
16. Thanks , I'll give that a try. It's weird to be playing with this language again. Can't beleive I remember using it so well. Seems like a lifetime ago. I spent many an hour in Atari Basic on my Atari 400. (Dreaming of the 1200XL:).
17. Hi, I was recently looking over some of my old Atari Basic games I wrote way back when and wanted to tweak one using Turbo Basic XL instead of Atari Basic. The problem is that when I run it under Turbo Basic XL it starts out fine but then gives an Error 12 (line not found). When I list the lines they are gone as if Turbo Basic deleted them. They are right at the end of the code listing using line numbers like 20000 and 30000 etc. In the game I used a Machine Language Routine in Page 6 (page 6 I'm guesing from distant memory) that moves some Player Missile Graphics around. Could Turbo basic have a problem with that? Any Ideas? I didn't use many REM statements because the program used just about every free byte in Atari Basic. I was hoping to get more free space and speed using TB XL. Strange. Thanks Gobo
