  1. I had an idea that's kind of tied to this. I know currently we have a way to create a zip to make an offline roms area for the cart. Anyway to allow a sub menu for a selected rom and make it so it can make it appear in offline folder? Like highlight it with the joystick and use like game select to bring up a menu and then hit save to offline. This could be done for regular roms as well as purchased roms.

I had only a week ago added this game to the PlusStore Repository. Don't know how we didn't have up there already but folks can play it now. Simplistic yet challenging game.

  3. You don't need to wait for a new purchase as someone else has done a check to see where current serial numbers are.

Over 700 carts sold so far.  Pretty impressive and if they can sell over 1,000 carts in the first week it should do well to see future carts getting a release by Audacity games!  Not only that but perhaps some people who don't know anything about the other carts that have been made over the years by the various artists on AtariAge, there could be a bump in sales as the new market finds AtariAge... one can hope as there are tons of great games on AA!
If a new market finds AA poor Al is going to have to hire a crew, he's always working double time.

  4. It will definitely allow these games to be available to a wider audience (Harmony Cart owners, Stella users, etc.)

Of course piracy is always a thing, but I think at this point most of us in these forums are here because we enjoy seeing new titles being developed for these old systems, and the majority are happy to support the developers so that they can continue to bring us fun games.

I would hazard a guess that even if these games eventually end up in ROM packs for Retropie or whatever, the casual folks that are going check them out for 30 seconds represent about %0 lost revenue potential.
I think piracy now isn't as big as it was back in the day. Consoles have become tougher to crack and the average Joe doesn't dabble in it anymore unless it's retro games of yesteryear where money is no longer being made on that product by the company if it still exists. I think the 2600/5200/7800 is a safe place to get that is there was any going on it's not perceptible due to the size of the audience (age plays a factor too).

  5. My experience with digital downloads is that they are a very hard sell even at $2.00.  Digital downloads also kill sales of physical carts.

I am trying digital downloads for small games that don't take 6 months to make.   Maybe small steps are needed for both developers and retro gamers.
What games do you offer in digital format? I'm interested.

  6. Yes the bin file is for flashing from SD, but you have to rename it to "firmware.bin" and put it to the root dir of the SD-Card.
I'll try that later so I don't have to fire up the programmer and see if that works.

  7. Wish they had a digital download option similar to what Al is going to do without buying a premium package.

I also think they'll have people my she who want to play it but don't have a 2600 anymore and emulation is what they use. I understand the issues surrounding piracy and stuff. But on the other hand I've never seen most of what AA offers in the store on the internet as downloadable. I think our market is so small piracy is not as prevalent.

  8. I don't have any experience, I've only ever had an Atari 2600. In my childhood I had some friends that had either the Intellivision or the colecovision but don't recall enough to remember what I played. Possibly Intellivision. In my adulthood I've purchased a 2600 in the last few years and have head over heels again with the system. I'm toying with the idea of getting one of the other aforementioned systems but still not sure. They seem neat, wanted them as a kid and the graphics are better in some respects but it'll never hold the same feelings/nostalgia for the 2600.
