  1. You have one order for a new board here. Will you need any extra for the original board??
  2. I recently purchased about 3 boxes of Atari software that was suppose to be mostly PAL. There were a lot of European magazine disks in the lot I bought along with games and apps. I'd say only 10-15% of the disks would not work right on my US 800XL. It was a very good purchase!!
  3. Considering I just recently picked up a MegaST2 w/ keyboard in near new condition for under $100.00, My opinion, $300-$400, way too high. There was a very nice MegaSTe that recently sold on ebay for a little over $400.00. That sounds a little more reasonable since they are harder to find.
  4. From the way the ad reads, he acquired them from a dealer as 2 seperate pieces, not intended to go together but still compatable. None the less, even if the scuff was in packaging, the system does look new.
  5. The keyboard is for the Mega STe. It was a bit different than the original MegaST keyboard but still compatable
  6. If it is like all the others, just copy the EXE to the existing folder and it will work.
  7. I have the LogiKhron Clock Module and was looking for the disk or files from the disk for this closk accessory. Can anyone help??? Thanks
  8. Probably the best A8 emulator is Atari800Win Plus. You can get it here.
  9. Here is a program for formatting floppies in different densities. It supports 360 and 720K floppy formats and works in WinXP. Floppy_Formatter.ZIP
  10. FYI.... If you have been following the Atari Flashback forum under "Dedicated Systems" here at AtariAge, The Flashback 3 is/was to have been a system based around the 5200/8Bit systems. According to Curt Vendel, who is/was developing the Flashback systems, it would have been compatable with the 8Bit line with added mods. Here are the specs he listed for the FB3: Considering the format of the Flashback2 being a 2600 on a chip, it would probably be reasonable to say that the FB3 will/would have used a 6502 on a chip. You might want to get a hold of Curt because if Atari decides not to move forward with the FB3, there may be a community effort to get it built anyway. Food for thought. I, myself, would love to see a NEW Atari 8bit, just for something new to hack at!! There is a genuine love for these systems from many people and a new system would be the next logical step in continuing its legacy, if only appealing to us Atari freaks!!!
  11. I noticed that Atari was able to renegotiate it's loan debt. Maybe we will still see the FB3????
  12. I am pretty sure I have AMAC in the box. If the manual isn't to large, I will try to scan it, if you would like. Edit: I have the disk based version of Atari Macro Assembler which also includes the Atari Program Text Editor. There are books for both in the package. I will try to scan them for you.
  13. My most prized is probably my 8bit ICD stuff. Multi I/O, SpartaDos X, R-Time8, Printer Connection, P:R: Connection, SpartaDos Construction Set, RamboXL Upgrades. I was quite the ICD fanatic back in the day. As far as systems, I still have my original 800XL that I have had since about 1984. Also my 'like new' boxed 1200XL with upgraded XL OS and built in Basic, Happy 1050 w/ controller switches and 4 XF-551 drives boxed. I plan on doing the 3.5 drive upgrade to one of those.
  14. If you have a 600XL/800XL, the power supply for that will work on the 130XE.
  15. B&C sells the original Atari memory upgrade for the 400. It is listed as a 48k upgrade but the board itself says 64k. I'm sure part of it is reserved memory. I have it installed in mine and it works great. From B&C's site: ACA020 MEMORY 48K UPGRADE 400 14.95
  16. That's funny because I have Shamus without a case. Just the cart board and the Shamus label. Guess I need to get me an empty cart case for it
  17. Didn't Atari help develop the Amiga chipset?? No wonder it was good. Just think if the Amiga chipset never made it to Commodore and ended up in the ST series..
  18. This is correct. I think the confusion here is the difference between scans (60hz) and FPS. In the industry, 30fps (29.97fps) was choosen because the human eye can not distinguish single frames above about 24fps, giving the illusion of fluid motion.
  19. On pin 6&9 of the DB9 connector, which is DSR and which is RI?
  20. It's not a 520STfm. I have one of those. This one has no floppy drive. Here are some pics of the main board. You can see where the orange wires connect. The second monitor jack is added under the RF Modulator hood and surface mounted to the mainboard. This had to be done professionally. I also noticed the extra bank of ram chips on the bottom of the main board. I need to get this thing hooked up so I can see what's going on.
  21. Venturing out of the 8bit forum a bit!! I just got a 520STm with an interesting mod that maybe someone can shed some light on. It has 2 monitor jacks on the back, mainboard mounted, and a toggle switch with 2 wires coming off of it. 1 goes to a pin on the second monitor jack and the other about 2/3 of the way back on the main board. I assuming it is a dual monitor mod to connect both color and monochrome monitors and switch between the 2 or have both active at the same time. Any ideas??? I will try and post a picture later.
  22. It looks as if the mod (listed on Curt's site) uses 2 seperate switches for switching between the internal and cartridge games. It would seem since both switches need to be flipped when switching between the game selection, that using a DPDT switch would work in place of 2 SPST switches. This would allow for only one drill hole for the switch.
  23. Welcome back to the Atari world!!! SIO2PC/PROSYSTEM Dual Interface is the hardware interface, APE is the software that utilizes the hardware. The SIO2PC / PROSYSTEM Dual Interface is the connection between an Atari computer and a PC. The interface can also be used to connect an Atari drive (1050/XF551) to a PC for backing up or writing disks to/from ATR image files. APE/Prosystem is the software that emulates most connected SIO hardware on the Atari. You can use your PC as virtual disk drives, modem, printer interface and so on. The Prosystem part allows the backup and restoring of most all Atari floppy disks to and from an Atari drive. If you use the SIO2PC, 1050/XF551, Atari computer and PC together, it will also allow copying of disks and file between the virtual drives and a real one with normal Atari DOS commands. They are a definite must!!! Contact Atarimax. They have other very cool items for the Atari, ie. IDE interfaces, flash rom cartridges and so on.
