  1. Hey Marius, shut up man I worked for weeks to build a new Atari museum in the attic of my new house. And I have never programmed or done something else for the Atari 8-bit. I was the guy making magazines, manuals, game covers, organizing retro fairs etc. I am still enjoying my Atari's, especially playing on my Atari pinball machine And for the other topic, The Netherlands or Holland. For me it is completely the same. Even in The Netherlands both words are used, for example Hollands next top model, The voice of Holland etc. Regards, Fred

  5. Yeah, you are still blaming me for kicking you out of Stichting Pokey :-) LOL!
  6. Well the Atari time was a lot of fun. Together with John (Maris) I published dozens of Pokey's Magazines. Working late to lay-out every article (the last 12 issues were magazines on paper), copy everything at a local copy shop. Writing manuals for ANG Software titles, going to many European events selling Pokey and ANG Software titles and also write for various magazines. When I meet with John we often speak about the many terrible and fantastic things we encountered those days (ofcourse with a nice drink). It was a great time! Now I am only running a small webshop with ofcourse a lot of 8-bit titles But back to Richards question. Only Freddy has replied to Richards proposal, I do not know if any other members of the famous High Tech Team are on this forum...
  7. You spelled it correctly, but famous...... don't think so.
  8. I've been at the AMS indeed. Don't remember I brought my Black Box, although I do own one (still have it somewhere). No, I didn't make Pokey Magazine. It was made by the Dutch Pokey Foundation/ANG Software. MegaZine was also distributed/sold by ANG Software. Quite a little Dutch reunion going on here I was already wondering why I got some orders for the last issue Megazine number 8 the last few days. Freddy you still get some money from me for the last issues sold It is not much LOL And Carmel, I was involved in the Dutch Pokey Magazines.
  9. Hi Rhod, Yes, that is my personal webpage. I have to make a overall picture, this is my attic The photos on the page are the biggest ones I have published on the web, I resized them. Regards, Fred
  10. The English versions were made by ANG Software from The Netherlands. Derek Fern distributed these versions in the UK.
  11. Hi guys, This is my collection: More (and larger) pictures of other Atari systems can be found at http://www.atarimuseum.nl Best regards, Fred
  12. Mathy, I do not know what you are talking about. MD software bought every ANG title from ANG. All disks were copy-protected, Derek did not have the knowledge and equipment to copy the disks. Derek did a lot for UK Atari 8-bit users. Best regards, Fred
  13. What dou you mean with 2,3 and 4??? Zybex and Draconus were official releases from Zeppelin (Cognito). When Zeppelin left the 8-bit scene all distribution and reproduction rightswent to Micro Discount UK. ANG Software had arrangements with Micro Discount to distribute and reproduce their games. ANG Software made a stereo conversion of both games (mono compatible). Micro Discount and ANG Software sold the Zeppelin titles (including the stereo conversins) with their original cassette covers on disk. From my point of view, they are all orginal releases and were sold in many European countries. Regards, Fred
  14. I only know of the "Robbo" game of LK Avalon Poland. There is not a Dutch Robbo game. Regards, Fred
  15. Hi Gury, You are quite right! AMJ Base is a database program Basicdup is an utility which gives extra (DOS) commands to Turbo basic Hack Picture II is able to hack graphics from games Home studio is a program to compose music. Regards, Fred
  16. Hi, I have taken a look at your lists and I think the following correctings and addings should be made to make your ANG Software library complete: Games Not listed (all disk): Operation Blood (ANG version) Thinker (ANG version) Eureka (ANG version) Draconus (re-release Zeppelin game, ANG stereo gumby version) Zybex (re-release Zeppelin game, ANG stereo gumby version) Jocky Wilson darts compendium (re-release Zeppelin game, ANG version) Corrections: T34 the battle (Mirage never finished and never published the game but ANG finished it and published it) Operation Blood for the lightgun (was actually made by ANG, Mirage never published it) Whoops! (was also published by Mirage in Poland with different cover and bug in the software) Johnny the ghost (originally made by Powersoft Germany (compiled turbo basic), ANG made a remake (machine language and gumby stereo compatible) so there are 2 versions) Utilities: Not listed (all disk): Colorfont editor (ANG) TML Drumeditor 1 (ANG) TML Drumeditor 2 (stereo Gumby compatible) (ANG) AMJ Base 3.0 (ANG, originally from AMJ soft) Basicdup (ANG) Diskkeeper 3 (ANG originally from AMJ soft) Hack Picture II (ANG) Home studio (ANG) Labeldesigner 2 (ANG, originally from AMJ soft) Greetings! Fred
  17. John Maris has announced on the dutch retro computer forum (www.retrocomputerdag.nl) that from the 1st of May 2006 ALL ANG Software titles (including the Polish Mirage titles) will be freeware. All ANG titles may be freely distributed. It is still prohibited to change any of the code and to distribute the software in its original (or reproduced) packaging. For all collectors outhere, original stock of ANG software titles are still available exclusively through www.rewindgames.com for (almost) PD prices. Fred Meijer
  18. Some new info. Querope Agency was a small Dutch company which had the distribution and reproduction rights of the LK Avalon software. Sadly this company existed only for a couple of months. Because of this deal between Qeurope and LK Avalon Fred and Mission Shark were translated into English and the copyright statement of Qeurope was added. ANG Software had only distribution and reproduction rights of Mirage Software. The software of LK Avalon sold by ANG are original Polish disks (English version) which John bought himself (in larger quantities) when he visited Poland. As I said earlier, the covers were custom made by ANG. So, I think the English disk versions of LK Avalon, ANG and KE Soft are the same, but there are disk versions with only 1 title and disk versions with both titles (front and backside).
  19. Hi all, I think I have never post a message on this board..... but I read it often. I was part of ANG Software in the Netherlands and John is still a good friend of mine. I will ask him about Qeurope agency, because I have never heard of it! About the Dutch versions, the covers Mathy provided (hi Mathy, long time no see) are made especially for ANG Software by a Dutch artist. You will not find these covers anywhere else. ANG software sold many LK Avalon games. These are the only two LK Avalon games with a specially made ANG cover. Fred and Mission Shark were sold seperately or as a two-pack by ANG in The Netherlands. The two pack had one cover with both drawings on the outside and the instructions on the inside. The ANG version is probably the same as the Polish disk version (with English texts). I do not own the Polish disk versions, only the Polish cassette version, the Zeppelin version and the ANG version, so i cannot check.
  20. Hi Atarians, From 1990 until 1996 Stichting Pokey (the Pokey foundation) was the only Atari 8-bit support group in Holland. We have published over 65 magazines in Dutch. Besides the Dutch issues we have also published 3 English magazines with 'the best of' articles. In collaboration with ANG Software we have also published 7 Mega Magazines, the European disk-magazine with a twist. Now, almost 10 years later, we have created a website to publish all magazines on the net. You can download every magazine as ATR file or read the magazines online. At this moment all English magazines are online, we are now very busy to publish all 67 DUtch language magazines. If you want to know how the Dutch (and European) scene looked like those days, please take a look at www.pokey.nl or www.stichtingpokey.com. Hope you'll like it! Regards, Fred
