  5. I bought an Atari 2000 for $2000.00. The unit was a childhood toy and has wear. Worse yet the second controller is intermittent at best. Now, I can send it back and get my money back BUT I may never see another. What do you think? Adam
  6. Maybee now that eBay has their hands full pulling shuttle auctions we can sneak our prototypes on ebay. Looks like it will get worse before it gets better. Adam
  7. Points well made. That being said, I am also interested in the mockups and shell only units. Like the gold shell Dan Kramer just sold on ebay. As long as it is vintage and original. Atari 2000 Atari 2200 Atari 2500 Atari 2700 Kee Games Atari 2600 Gold plated Atari 2600 So is this it including working prototypes, mockups and shells? What about the missing numbers in between? 2100 2300 and 2400. Were these ever assigned and work ever done? Adam

  12. Ok I finally got my hands on an Atari 2000 (blue version) and I have it sitting next to my Atari 2700. I am going to test it fully first thing tomorrow. What other prototype exisit in this lineup? Adam
  13. You know I have one of these duds with 3 games and it just sucks. Yes its rare but it looked so cool I thought it would be fun. Hell my Entex Crazy Climber is great fun. This thing blows. I paid alot for it but if I could find a trade for some other rare stuff I'd do it in a sec. Adam
  14. Has it traded hands for over 6k or is this speculation? I think over time you will see that this will be the most valuable cart. I need a grey. If I found one in good shape I'd pay $1,500.00. The grey carts HAVE a full lable (different than gold) and the labels are numbered. While there were at least 90 printed how many survived? We aren't JUST talking about the rarity it is a VERY desired cart. If there were 90 some swordquest competetion carts given away at the competetion and 15-20 were known I'm sure they would be worth $1,500 each easy and I don't think the price would drop. It would a cart EVERY atari collector would want. While Atari has many holy grails NES only has 1. Two, if you count grey and gold seperate. The competetion was a BIG deal to NES players they traveled around the counrty and many who were part of the this, site this as one their greatest gaming childhood memories. There was a movie "the wizard" which they also ran out to see in droves. I dunno when I look at the facts behind this one I can't see any other cart being more valuable. There will others which are rarer or even more desirable to YOU but Nintendo has a HUGE fan base and this is their holy grail. Adam
  15. Did your auctions get pulled? Give us the link to the auctions themselves. All I saw were old pictures for sale. I thought collecting Atari 2600 was tough. That there would be a tough hobby to complete. "I'm collecting an original picture of everyone who ever lived" Adam
  16. I believe I have 2 protos of Frankenstein. I think of all third party companies theirs are the most plentiful. Followed by Activision. Adam
  17. The gold were not given away at the competetion. The grey ones were and they are numbered. There are AT LEAST 90 grey but collectors can't seem to agree exactly how many. The numbers on the carts seem to indiciate that there could be a couple if not several hundred. Last grey to actually sell on ebay went for $1,500.00 The gold were used in a Nintendo Power competetion. There were 26 of them and they even had their names and home towns listed in an issue of Nitnendo power. Don't bother trying to track them down it a done deal. Eight or Nine of the original 26 turned up many of the others were simply thrown out. I bought a gold cart last year for 4k. In my opionion there isn't a cart more valuable. The record price so far is $6,500.00 for a gold NWC btw.
  18. Hey CPUWIZ I am gunna need your information. If all goes well this week I owe you $100.00. Adam
  19. I have a couple prototype boxes Rush Hour Dumbo hmm maybee thats it. Anyway I'd trade a proto cart for a box anyday. I am with Tempest these just can't be beat. Adam
  20. I would say prototypes for the most part are overrated. Most Atari protos seem to have settled to a justified reasonable level. If its a released game AND no major differences..who cares? Ok well if you have documentation or a nice label then thats something different. What I really hate are proto boards without cases. Unless its Save Mary or another unreleased game its just about worthless in my book. Of course unique boards are interesting to some and 3rd parties are cool. Just be glad its not like the NES proto market where any released proto on a common proto board without a case or documentation can fetch 100-300 dollars. The price has come down in recent days but still that just silly. Adam
  21. I think there has been only one in past 3 years. Was it from before that? Adam
  22. I won the complete Lockjaw on ebay it went for $900 or so. You are thinking of the complete Malagai which went for $1,300.00 Adam
  23. That picture is not complete. I have 2 maps not one and 2 sets of stickers used to fill in the circles on those maps. While none of my stickers are used some kid wrote his name on one of my maps There was no box BTW. Adam
  24. Yeah I picked up the one at Philly last year. It was complete but cost me plenty. I haven't seen one availble since. Well until this one that is. Adam
