  1. #11 Bald dude who worked as a prison guard in the Phillyclassic area. I don't think he was an online collector. Anyone know this guy? Cool guy. He had 2 copies sold one to me both were with paperwork and came in plastic bags. I sold the cart loose to Wonder and kept the papers/stickers etc with the theory that I could track down a loose cart later on much easier than I could find a complete one.
  2. Watch this cart end up in a lot of 50 untested games. Some reseller will email for a side deal and the cycle will repeat.
  3. He offed the competition and took the stash !
  4. That's because a stash of these were found a few years ago. Most collectors with deep pockets already have this CIB, so it tends to drive down the price... River Patrol CIB is a totally different ball game That must have been it. I know I have multiples complete buried in the attic. Some of the other Tigervision were much tougher for me to track down complete. CIB Marauder was one of the hardest for me to find. Mind you this was like 10 years ago and much has changed but Espial was one of the easiest to find complete back then. That and Atari 8 bit Springer. I remember someone selling those NIB for what seemed like forever. The old bulk finds that no one thought would end but have since dried up would make an interesting thread.
  5. Load them on to www.Photobucket.com or any another free photo provider and post a link to the picture in this thread. Change the topic to "Lookie Lookie I got a Cookie." People will swarm to see it and if someone can use the pic I'm sure they will.
  6. That is the ONLY reason I can think of to use a second third fourth etc account.
  7. I don't think anybody besides oldatarian "shills themselves" seriously, bidding twice on the same item with two seperate Ebay accounts to max your bid out? Nobody in there right mind does that. It's the silliest thing I have ever heard. How is it silly? If a listing for something starts at 1 cent and I think it's worth $50, what's wrong with bidding the $50 and then backing it up with a bid from another account? I was prepared to pay $50 for it anyway and if it's an item that is going to generate a lot of interest it's going to reach at least $50, maybe more. I wouldn't do that for an item that will generate few bids, only something that is rare. Do you think I would bid $50 for a $10 item and then bump it up? THAT would be silly. Do you think a Video Cube cart for the 2600 is worth $50? Don't you think it would easily reach $50 in a regular auction regardless? I'm just bypassing a lot of the B.S. by getting the $50 bid to the top right away and increasing my chances of winning because if nobody else wants to spend more than $50 for it, it's mine. I don't care about the slim chance that I could have gotten it for less because 99% of the time I wouldn't have. If the $50 bid is high enough to stop other people from bidding, I get the item. What is so hard to understand about that? I'd rather have the rare item than the money. If you want the BEST chance use one account and bid the minimum to kill the BIN if there is one. Then using the same account snipe it. Bidders often want what someone else wants. When a game has bids it is way more likely to get another bid than if it sits with no bids. With your method you will pay more and win less often. Simple as that.
  8. eBay Auction -- Item Number: 290509208696
  9. I think B & C computervisions has a ton of new Jaguar boxes that they sell pretty cheap.
  10. Could be your laser. We test all PS2 systems with a PS1 and a PS2 game. Many have issues playing one but not the other. Few are 100% bad. I guess like a car they sputter a bit before the die completely. Some later models are actually manufactured with the inability to play dual layer DVD and game discs but that isn't the issue in this case.
  11. Ok so I read some old threads. He does seem to follow you around doesn't he? However it doesn't look like this habit came out of thin air. He also doesn't seem to be the only one upset with things you have said and done even if he is the most vocal or most persistant. I agree that he shouldn't be allowed to bash every one of your posts. He should stick to the known facts if making posts like this one above but I can see how he might have suspected foul play in this case.
  12. You need to chill it with your accusations, he sent me the cart to take a look at it, I looked at it and it's dead. I even gave him a letter, stating so. I had that cart in my hand, this is not the same cart, guaranteed. I'd say if you have any reason at all to believe something might not be right then say it. I'd rather hear something that might not be true than not hear it at all.Once you have the information the bidders should still obligated to do their own homework and determine themselves if they still want to buy it. So this person has 2 Ultravision Karate carts? Or these are 2 different people? Does the piece of crap comment have only to with this particular game and the belief that he "fixed" it or does this seller have a past history that would make you say so. Now if this seller has no past bad history and isn't the owner of the dead cart then I do agree that the accusation perhaps should have been put in the form of a question. Just mention the old auction and ask if anyone thinks they might be connected. Or ask how difficult it might be to perform such a "fix" on the old auction. Now you have informed others of the past situation so they can weigh the options and if you are totally off base you don't accuse a possbile member here of shady deals.
  13. I've seen that "Atari 81" cover before, and my first thought after reading the orig post is that it was an internal company mag... Can't recall where I saw it though. It is an internal company mag.
  14. Well, sometimes scanning can be an intensive process depending on the source material. Other times, people own things and don't want to share. Of course, there's always just plain ol' forgetfulness. Or the item they own is in such nice condition that they don't want to fold it open and possibly crease corners or something placing it on the scanner. I just sent Al the front and back scans of the early blue Atari catalog. He has scans of all pages of catalogs, but mine is in such nice condition that I don't want to fold it open to scan the interior pages. Phil Hmmm. I've got plenty of minty things that I have been able to successfully scan without doing anything to damage its condition. Bless us and splash us, my precious. Or the item was lost in a train derailment on its way to the owner
  15. I don't follow this title but it seems low, no? Ended: Oct 20, 201015:53:50 PDT Bid history: 6 bids Winning bid: US $510.00
  16. Not sad at all, I would love to have that collection, but the Atari 8bit versions are going for stupid money right now and I could never afford to put together a complete collection... I see you have them across many formats, do you have any complete series for a specific machine? or you just have one of each title no matter what machine it came out on? Get a TI99. It's one of the few systems you can still get Infocom games for cheap. Pretty sure the guy selling those on eBay is making them as he sells them. He make carts as well. Some he lets you know are homemade others he doesn't. Making complete in box Infocom games with all the feelies??? Now that's talent He sells them for $10 brand new. I am sure you will get zero feelies from him. A B&W copied manual and a disc perhaps.
  17. Hard to say what to look for. Originals were made with different styles. I see the Centipede one often which is fairly large but they are cheap when they come up for sale. Often the context of the auction/seller gives it away. If the seller has 20 NEW Atari t-shirt auction running at the same time chances are the pins aren't real either.

  19. They could be vintage? Who knows when they were made but they certainly aren't official licenced items. Put down another vote for basement factory.
  20. Level 9 and ES weren't (well) known in the USA, and as Mystery House was the first text adventure with graphics made available on disk via Sierra online, nobody wanted to still use tapes in the USA during the 80s. Which game did ES do to justify 'the first text adventure with graphics on tape'? HEY ! I was one of many stuck with a tape drive until the later 80s! I finally updated to a 130XE on clearance and bought a disk drive at the same time but never updated on my TI 994a to disk.
  21. I am getting stocked up for the holidays. We all try to buy everything from shipping material to cords etc in bulk to get the best prices but sometimes you don't need a whole pallet. So if I can get a group of people in Cleveland to all order together we all win. Plus we have more eyes to find those deals. I can get some wholesale prices via my store but still the more you buy the better prices you get. Even when you buy at wholesale a few items shipped kills the deal as the shipping gets you. If you live in the Cleveland area and do some buying and selling drop me a line. I find bulk deals all the time.
  22. That sounds low. Tempest If you buy them one at a time and then add up the values then yes they are expensive. In a lot if you are patient and snipe you can pick these up for 50 cents or less each. They can be posted in just about any category. Most common being videogames and books but not always. Try to find a lot with some Nintendo fun club issues for bonus points.
