i don't belive in monetary donations my works for Atari strictly is commecrial? I do commercial projects strictly commercial, some are for Atari, some for other platforms, some are unrelated to any of this i just make - i don't belive in open source or open hardware though and i belive any creator should get rewarded in one way or another, and monetary rewards, although they are simple, are least significant ones just a note i and Jon put equivalent of 22000usd into side3 project - do you really think we get our money back? how "commercial" is that? we, or i, do this because i can, and because i want, "commercial" aspects are slim or none

or send some nice gear i could thinker with, drag out for a beer, or just say something nice, instead of usuall, polish "complements" i get

no, i can't perhaps, but then again i've offered a help anyone desiging atari replacement boards in the past - no help was taken i'm happy u1mb is so popular - i don't own the rights to it, as their were transfered to lotharek, and i don't earn anything from u1mb being so popular but it's still close to my heart - just makes me pround - if this is the best wording for it anyways, novadays, all projects are licensed, but i'm very carefull to whom i license them to and i'm happy that we, as a society, have places like lotharek's shop where you can "go" and order what you need he doesn't create anything new - this is most of the times true - he does some things for zx spectrum but the main reason for backing up lotharek is that everything there is in stock - you just go and grab what you like prices? i don't know if they are steep or affordable and i don't care despite of having whole smt assembly line i don't have the time to use it, and with so much ideas on new projects i have i don't know if i should keep my day job or not

perhaps this will help someone building it there is a crystal soldered underneath of my original board - 20mhz one with some 22pF caps parallel to it so i guess you need to set up fuses to use it after all anyways, here are the pics

you can use 16k 600xl, there are some caveeats doing this, but nothing major you cant configure it to have 1mb of portb expansion and emulate 1mb cartridge in the same time because there is only 2mbytes of memory on board so it will either be 1mb cartridge and 512k of portb explansion or vice versa, but i don't know if any cartridge uses expanded memory at all, so this should be no problem

certainly not but if you take a look on the pictures, you'll find that 0R resistors are not populated on the board

you don't need external crystal for this, so i would leave that as it were right from factory the only thing i suspect you must change is clockdiv/8 bit changing default cpu speed to 8mhz (factory sets this to 1mhz instead)

joystick ports work since quite some time, the only thing programmer must do is to use 0xd343 register to configure portb as an input, and its done (provided this option is enabled) same thing for trig3 - instead of reading d013 you need to read one of its copies ie d033 this was never intended to run 4 players colleen mode games in xl/xe mode

i was hoping this topic would become a list of incognito's incompatibilities so i could at least try to fix some of these with incomming JED update, but it seems there are none reported so far BBSB game and SyncFile+ being two titles with issues because of how they were written, and this is it? from what i know there is: - 0xd013 issue with incognito unmapping original trig3 register, but failing to map its own in xl/xe mode (fixed) - no bios plugin support as found in ultimate (fixed) - wrong handling of casinh signal preventing vbxe from working (fixed) - extsel behaving diffrently for colleen and xl/xe mode resulting in slot3 cards incompatibility (fixed) I am missing something?

no need to be thankfull, not-demanding is enough this is just something i wanted to do to perhaps help someone with vbxe installation who is not inclined on heavly modyfying his 800 plastic parts or whatever and would still want to have decent monitor output and capabilities WAY BEYOND what bit3 card had to offer take it or leave it, if someone wants something else, or more - go ahead and design it

faucuai, you wrote you're busy buying sophia/whatsoever, why are you still here? obviously you have no clue about power distribution, or power conversion, yet, heared about dc/dc converters and wanted to shine - you're not shining here... having anemic power supply to start with there is nothing that will save you, 800xl has no power on pbi bus for a REASON, and the only reason there is to it that 600xl has, it's was intended soleyly for 1064 expansion pack - out connector doesn't have 5V on it either you can try to power some logic with the supply provided, but thinking about powering entrie bus is a dream current handling of those two pins are 4A, where you think you're going to put them or get them from? and as always - no incognito, no ride
