  1. I could never figure out those graphing calculators to save my life. My boyfriend didn't start out with one, either, he was 2-3 when he started doing simple programming on the TI-99/4A of his, has an embarrassing story to tell about how much he got engrossed with it (then again, I have an embarrassing story to tell about myself at 5 years old involving a convenience store arcade game, but that's neither here nor there...).
  2. Ugh. Cobbled together three models from "relative" scratch for Source Filmmaker, some sort of game-based rendering program I use for my art, nowadays. Two of them were simple body and armature swaps, but one I had to do some mesh altering to get it done. Nearly wore myself out with it, but I'm happy with the results, for the most part. Sure makes up for me bugging other people to make them, that's for sure (though I still bugged them for advice on fixing some issues I had with the models)...
  3. Nothing much going on here, tech-wise, unless you count learning how to frankenstein together model parts for working customs. I've been obsessed with that for the last few days, and it's rather exhilerating.
  4. It was a test meal we had, and the roast pork we had didn't have enough liquid drippings to make good pudding with, so we had to resort to using normal vegetable oil for it. Almost caught the oven on fire with it, but after a little mopping up, the pudding turned out well. It's just that, I'm pretty sure Yorkshire Pudding wasn't meant to be eaten with confectioner's sugar and maple syrup...
  5. Some UKnians would call it heresy to eat Yorkshire Pudding on Thanksgiving like it was a state fair funnel cake. I say it's damn good, that way.
  6. http://snupp.it/S7TX8e Here we go. Not all of the LCD games, but all of the Tiger ones. We seem to have 2 rare ones: the Barcodzz one, and a Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego one that I can't find any info on.
  7. Nevermind, we have some rubbing alcohol that I used to remove the stickers. Thanks.
  8. Hmm. don't have that in the house. any household remedies that could work?
  9. I've got a bit of a problem; I've got a black-spine Spyro 3 game, still works great, but it has some stickers on the labeled side of the CD. I can't sell it, as a result, locally, but I want to try and remove the labels to see if I can sell it. Anyone know how to do that, without ruining the disc?
  10. Looking through some boxes and stuff in the attic of my boyfriend's old house, we found a box of old LCD handheld games that all seem to work fine. The most expensive one (that we know of) is a Tiger Electronics Mortal Kombat Barcodzz with all of the cards and the container sleeve for them. I'm hoping to take some pics of them to put on Stewart Ashen's Snupps group for posterity, before we try to sell them.

  12. Same setup as us, except replace the XBox One with a PS4/PS3 and the 2600 with a WiiU.
  13. Is there a version of this file in .wav format? I'd love to see what kind of game this is...
  14. Thanks for the interest and the sale. Update on OP.
  15. Guy who wanted the Donkey Kong TI cartridge never got back to me on the sale, so it's still up. Will reduce the price for it to $8, if that's okay.
  16. Up until I found out about my boyfriend's one, I've only seen a TI-99/4A in the hands of collectors, like Ashens. Strangest place we did hear about it was at a local game shop; as some of you know, when we found my boyfriend's old TI and was trying to repair it, we talked with the owners there about whether or not they worked on such things (I was interested, because they had some Atari 8-bit games and a computer in stock), and one of them said that he remembered his dad owned one, so that was rather surprising to me.
  17. I figured that. Thanks. We'll try some of them out, tomorrow.
  18. So, now that my boyfriend and I have confirmed that our work-around for getting tape games gotten online to work on the TI (like with Peter Cottontail's Egg Hunt), I was wondering if there was any non-32K-required wav format games (either official or fan-made) that you guys would suggest for us to try out? We do have Extended Basic, so keep that in mind. I used to have a link to a large collection of TI programs, but lost it in a sudden reinstall I needed to do to my computer. Also, thanks to ArcadeShopper, we do have his tapes for Adventure and Tunnels of Doom, so unless there's any other sets for those two that aren't on the ArcadeShopper ones, we don't really need those. Thanks for all your help with us!
  19. Yeah, I can see that. On a different note, but one related to computer gaming, I'm excited for the news that Doom 64 is coming to all platforms next March, and as a preorder bonus for Doom Eternal. That means I can now have a digital collection of all of the main Doom games legally on my computer (I had to resort to total conversions for Doom 64).
  20. And, just like that, it's met its quota by over 500 backers. Interesting. I wonder if it'll just be available to those who backed it or not...
  21. Well, what do you know? They did say they were extending the deadline to after some sort of comic con, this weekend, so it looks like that strategy is working for them... Sadly, I don't have nearly enough money to get one, but I do hope it gets made, at this rate.
  22. Anyone remember the movie "Mannequin" from 1987? I found a news article that talked about the authentication of part of a mannequin that a Philadelphia store had that was the "star" of that movie. I love stories like that; there was a SciFi (SyFy) show about the authentication and auctioning of movie props and memorabilia that I got reminded of when I read that article, and it made me reminisce about other such shows, like Toy Hunter (which got me into watching toy collection webseries Toy Galaxy) and American Pickers. I dunno what fascinates me about that kind of stuff, but it does.
  23. I'm looking at the current status of the crowdfund, and it's barely gone up to over 5,700. I really doubt that it'll make its cut, and after the one extension, I doubt they'll be willing to make another one just to try and bring in more backers. If they had limited themselves to 5000 backers instead of 8000, then they'd have made it, by now, but I think they overshot the amount of people interested in this huge toy.
  24. Wow, no wonder the seller of the graphics card I bought said he "took a loss" on the shipping; when we tried shipping it back to him in the same box, it came out as being oversized, and thus, cost the same price as I paid for it.
