    Chances of the pens working are about 0. I think replacements may be available. It would be cool to find a way to refill the markers. Congrats on the purchase - I never owned an Atari printer and still to this day don't have one. Stephen Anderson I have a couple 1020's and a 1025 going spare

    I can vouch for that! I used to have a full time job at a small PCB place populating, wave soldering, and repairing custom boards for years. I can solder SMD stuff just fine, and even I trashed (not beyond repair at least) some 130XE boards. These things are the biggest pile of $hit quality wise I have ever worked on.     Now now candle, play nice the 130XE is a bitch to desolder if you are not very careful and not familiar with how easy it is to lift traces. Just take care and lots of patience.

    Candle, What connector is included to hook it to the a8? Most of the PBI devices coming out of eastern Europe are developed for the 130XE line. Are you going to be including an adaptor or cable to allow use on either the PBI or the ECI.

    I have three 600XL's and nine 800XL's... Never seen that extender board before... Although I have seen some with the resistors right on the motherboard.

    I agree it's a great looking device. I'm case-modding one of mine into a desktop scanner. I had purchased a new head for it back when Best still sold them. I took me about 2 hours to install. First line of text destroyed it. Speaking of scanners, there is a mod from the old Atari User magazines that you can use to turn your 1027 into a scanner... I'll have to try and dig it up.
