I have no iea how to program for the Atari, beyond what I remember from the 80's in my very basic BASIC days.. I do still have my systems though and play games... I was a game collector mostly, especially from Page 6 in the UK...

I'm pretty sure Carl won't give any hints to his mystery projects. As you may or may not know, in the Jaggy community announcing something before you're ready to sell it is VERY dangerous. Folks here don't take too kindly to delays or cancellations in projects. Web Site is back up today. I asked Brad what was up with the site and here is the reply I got... Q. Hey Brad, what's up with the website? A. Sometime on Monday the New server that holds the Best Web site and about 15 others went down Simon. My Web Host company had to rebuild each web site from the beginning again. I just checked and they finally got the Best Web Site up and running today. Three days without the Best Web site Ugh!!!! Yeah, I really don't like his auctions at all... Too random on the buy it now prices and a lot of carts are way over the top.... Seems pretty flaky to me...

Yes I am well aware of how to quote (see my previous posts in here)... HOWEVER I was on a friends jank ass computer on Dial up and somehow deleted half the quoted HTML and decided to not wait the painful timeframe for it to go back to the post so I could requote it)... As for eating, Well I kind of have to eat to be able to play my Jaguar, if I don't eat I die and then no CD is going to help me .... I'll get one, eventually...

I got mine in the UK (where I lived until 1997) about a month after it came out, right before Christmas if I recall... I paid £200 for it with the regualar package... Two months after the CD came out I got that also £200... However to finance a trip to NYC I sold the CD unit (they were having problems getting supplies in the UK and I was able to make a little on it for my trip)... I then moved here to the US in 1997 and in about 1999 I purchased a core unit and power supply from ebay for $15 to use my exisiting games and controllers... Still use it to this day, especially for Rayman (MY GF loves it and when we play it at her college everyone wonders what the hell is that strange gray machine ) I wish however that I had never sold the CD unit, as I can't justify buying a new one right now... But I DO want to get ahold of Mutant Penguins

Well I wish I had a JAG CD, but even with the prices on ebay being around $130 I still can't justify buying one... I know some of you out there will think that's pretty cheap but not to everyone... I would rather buy something I can play in my current JAG without having to shell out for the add on to then have to pay for a cd to play in it...

Yes it is his fault if he told people he is sold out and is now auctioning copies off. He has artificially inflated the price via supply and demand. Can he do this? Sure it's his own business... But it's a little shady especially from someone who should be a part of the community... The real issue is the "collectors" who pay this ridiculous amount in the first place making the rest of us poor schlubs who work a regular job and have responsabilities unable to even dream of having one... (BTW I know my spelling sucks )

Ah the free giveaways that are my love... I'm gonna have to keep an eye on this... Just wish I had the money to buy those carts you had up in the other post...

It's a nice lot, but I've never really had much luck with cassettes after all this time.. Disks are generally ok but I find a large fail rate on tapes...

Sounds like RF interference... Do you have anything near the Jag that might be causing that? unshielded speakers, radio, might even be too close to the TV... or it could be a bad tv cable... are you using the switchbox? or do you have the RCA cables? Try it on a different tv if you can and locate it as far away from any other electronics...

Hey guys, I know I can get a myIDE and also USB now for the 8-bit... But does anyone know anyway to use an ST hard Disk unit with an 800xl? I'm curious as there are a number of these units on Ebay right now and I think it would be cool to use a real atari branded HD with my 8-bit.. So I turn the question over to all you hardcore users here... Simon

Second pokey sounds fun.. and I can grab one from one of my unusable PAL machines... SIO2PC and myIDE are cool and I would love to drop a hard drive into the casing. Not sure if I would be able to figure it all out though... there is aparently a 32 in one OS chip upgrade too... What have you guys done on your machines?

That's a little more than I can do right now... Does anyone know anything about the wizztronics 256 upgrade?

Man that really sucks. I have just got back into the Atari scene after several years away. I'm not a coder or developer. But I've always loved everything Atari related and when I heard about Eirevale I was blown away at the effort being put into it. I'm just happy and glad that one project is going to make it through... Maybe it's even a good thing that you can focus 100% on this one title... After it is out you could then have the satisfaction of having it done and that might give you the desire to resurect another of those projects... Also I think that someone out there that reads this forum has the knowledge or knows someone that does to get the data from that drive without having to pay a fortune... I'm thinking that if you didn't hear something grind when it went down (that is if you were in the room) the data should be there... Anyway, I hope things work out for you Lars...

Ok I have two working 800XL NTSC Computers (and three dead pal 800xl's)... One of the systems I want to use as a stock 800XL and play games etc... The other is a fully socketed board and I want to use it for upgrade projects... Right now it's stock... SO... What shall I do to it? I can follow basic diagrams and solder/unsolder... What are the maximum upgrades I can do to it? Simon BTW: I haven't had the computers out for awhile.. Ten years in fact... and I am really enjoying exploring the Atari now... At the time I wasn't brave enough to try any upgrades and think this would make a great project over the next year or so...
