  1. I opened up my other three 800XL systems today... They ALL have the C012296 chip so it must be compatible with the 800xl As for the Dram info... It must have something to do with that as I was looking into the wizztronics 256 upgrade and depending on the antic chip in your system depends on how you install it... Brad from Best Electronics said that he thinks one is 7bit and the other 8bit... I guess the computers work with either chip so it's not a biggie... I was just curious...
  2. I have two 800XL computers... I had them both apart today and realized that the Antic chips have different codes/part numbers... one is C012296 and the other is C021697... Anyone know the reason for the different codes? Best - Electronics lists one as Antic and the other as XL/XE Antic... any ideas?
  3. http://www.best-electronics-ca.com Send them an email, they have the most parts for Atari that I know of... They might be able to help you... But you may have to find a used or dead unit and canabilize it Might also try myatari.com
  4. Checked PSU (Have several) not that... So how do I go about checking the other things? I had it apart yeserday but realized that my knowledge of the internal workings of the Atari is lacking somewhat...
  5. Hey Guys, I just dug out my old 130XE and hooked it up for the first time in years, it worked great for a day and then when I played it today after about 20 minutes the picture went out and a loud buzzing came through the speakers... Originally I hooked it up with the RF so I switched it over to the monitor cable (out to rca jacks) and still no picture... What I was getting is a rolling screen at best and fuzz at worse (One time it was all red)... The sound was a continous buzzing... So.... I figure that as both RF and Monitor out had the issue it's something internal... what however I have no clue... Hopefully something realtively simple to fix and not too expensive any ideas??? Simon
  6. Well, that's not the only reason... 839581[/snapback] Dammit, I'm poor and I really want a Jag CD... Anyone want to sell one reasonably cheap??? I've actually been thinking about getting one, the reason being that I forsee that any significant output from here on out will be on CD format... Pity there isn't a way to build an interface to use a regular cdrom drive...
  7. Bring back Jack!!! TRAMIEL???? They are the reason Atari is dead....
  8. So this is the reason I can't find a reasonably priced CD drive.... You bought them all and spraypainted them....
