  1. Well what do you know? after my earlier rant about FedEx guess what? I was supposed to have a package delivered Friday(yesterday), but it's still sitting in Champaign Illinois since 5.45 am Friday morning... I mean I would have expected it to at least go on a truck to Indy by now? So I guess I'll be getting that on Tuesday... I'm going out tomorrow to ship something to Texas, was actually thinking of hitting up the FedEx place as it has lower shipping, but now I'm just going to use the prepaid Priority shipping box that will work from USPS (bigger box than I need, better buy bubble wrap )
  2. Silly question, are you hooking up the right cables? I don't have a 1702 but on my 1902 if I plug it up wrong I get nothing and there is a switch that I can depress that usually corrects it (but again I might just be talking out of my hat in regards to the 1702)
  3. I would say for general damage and mishandling FedEx wins hands down here in Indianapolis. I purchased a bicycle from Ebay that came from Wisconsin. It was left on my porch as I was at work, my girlfriend dragged it in the house. The Bike had been professionaly packaged at a bike shop and was very padded and in a box designed for it. However there were four huge tears in the box allowing the frame to be exposed (not good as this was my GF's birthday gift and now she knew what it was - the box had no marking outside showing it was for a bike). But the best part was that when I took it out a realized that the front forks had been crushed together and then bent to the left. Not an easy task when this was a vintage Schwinn that had steel forks. Luckily a mile from my house is a place called the bicycle hospital and they fixed it up good as new (for $80.00) Ok I thought, a one off, but no... I was shipped a replacement mouse for my computer by the manufacturer and they shipped it FedEx, Lets just say it was a very flat mouse when I got it, I didn't even know a mouse came in 26 different pieces (that's how many I counted it had been crushed into)... I refuse to this day to use FedEx for anything. For the tardiness I have to say USPS. My Mom lives in the UK so she sends me stuff all the time and it's always sent with tracking so we know at what point it enters the USPS system... Usually takes 2 days to get to Chicago and then from Chicago to Indianapolis it goes missing and I receive it a month later (happened four times so far) the worst one was A birthday gift that she sent April 1st and I got in OCTOBER... I called USPS and they said they had shipped it to Indy but when I went to my post office that delivers to me they didn't have it (oh but they did, apparently they tried contacting me three times to pick it up) luckily I finally received a letter saying this was the last time they would try me before sending it back (had been at the post office the whole time) Can't say I've had any complaints with UPS though, usually expedient and everything via them has been in good shape
  4. And buying is even more so! Well that brings up a good point, I've bought many things on Ebay, but sold none... I was thinking of starting a new thread with my questions about selling, but for right now here will do As already mentioned I only want to sell a few items and I'm certainly not looking to make a huge amount. But with the Ebay fees and Paypal fees to accept money I'm wondering if it's even worth it at all... My main question though is how should i ship to avoid losing any paypal protection I would get? and 2 would it behoove me to switch my paypal to a business account as the personal account only allows 5 CC transactions a year? (Or just dispense with Paypal and require Certified Check or MO??? But that would put some people off I am sure???) Thanks again
  5. My concern wasn't the 1 neg I have now (my feedback explains the issue, so anyone who reads it can see)... My concern was that having a 0 feedback account would go against me more than an account that has 94 pos and 1 neg... I'm probably not going to be selling permanently on Ebay anyway, just trying to offload some Commodore stuff and then I'll probably be done
  6. I was thinking of setting up an account to Sell on ebay, I already have a buyer account that has 1 bad feedback in 95. But if I set up a new account I'll have 0 feedback and no one will want to buy from me??? How do you get around that??? (sorry to hijack the thread, but this is something I've been wondering about and this seemed a good place to put it)
  7. I dont have any right now, but for some reason I love the proline...
  8. I got that jacket in Blue and yeah the youth xl is tiny... Looks very 80's and retro when I wear it (ok I look like an asshat, but I like it) I woudn't be able to get one arm in it let alone the rest of my torso Yeah I rarely wear mine, but it looks pretty cool all the same... I almost got it in Silver (was on ebay a year or two ago) but I thought that was too much Michael Jackson going on I'm thinking of just getting some new patches and making my own jacket
  9. I got that jacket in Blue and yeah the youth xl is tiny... Looks very 80's and retro when I wear it (ok I look like an asshat, but I like it)
  10. Ok, I said I would post once I got everything up and running... All I need to do now (Besides sell all the excess Commodore stuff I got when I purchased the monitors) is to get the SIO2PC And see, Atari can live with Commodore (well actually I use the Atari 95% of the time)
  11. Well the belts are rubber and it ages over time... Getting replacements isn't so hard and they are fairly easy to replace (I've done it 3 or 4 times now and I'm about as handy as a chocolate teapot) I don't recall the dimensions on the xc12, but I've purchased replacement belts from here http://www.action-electronics.com/belts.ht...ve+belt#Measure Or you might want to email http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/ they have all kinds of cool stuff, probably have or can tell you where to get the correct belts...
  12. I can attest to DGS and Futura, as I have issues of both...
  13. No EA boxed title sells for 99c. Some are rather common (as Archon) and they shouldn't sell for much higher. But it is one of the favorite publishers, and they always sell with a high premium above its rarity. MULE is probably the all time favorite game. Again, not rare, but everybody wants it. I'd recommend selling each EA boxed game separately. Certainly do so with MULE. Yeah I did a search and kind of came to that conclusion too... I have some of the EA games for the commodore too, think I may put them all up separately on Ebay
  14. That's what I was thinking, For example I have about 5 or 6 of the EA gatefold packaged games (archon etc), was thinking of putting them up as a single lot... I just found out I have TWO copies of M.U.L.E. though, might do that one separate Then maybe just bundle the others together...
  15. That may be the plan. But I may get rid of some of my common stuff just to free up space, I mean I can play pacman multiple ways
  16. Ok, I have my Atari 800xl set back up and I have my PC nearby... I'm thinking of buying the SIO2PC from AtariMax. However my dilemma is that I have a ton of software already and there isn't really anything else I foresee wanting to buy to play. Therefore my justification for buying the SIO2PC is selling off the software. However looking at Ebay I don't really see a market any longer for Atari Carts or Disks, everything is either ultra rare (which I don't have) or selling for about 99c or so (and I may as well just keep it at that rate)... So anyone have any ideas??? Thanks
  17. UPDATED LISTING, I decided to hell with Ebay for now Well it seems no one wants the printers so I think I'm going to have to dispose of them. I want to thank everyone who bought stuff as well as everyone who looked... I'll be back in a few weeks with Atari 8-Bit software I think, I like selling here, I think I'll avoid Ebay completely even if I don't make as much money. 18. Actually speaking of firmware hackers, the company iRobot that makes the Roomba and Scooba ALSO makes one just for hackers. check this out http://www.irobot.com/sp.cfm?pageid=305 Looks pretty cool... You can program it direct from your computer or buy this 8 bit control module iRobot Command Module The Command Module contains an 8-bit, 20 MHz (Atmel ATMega 168) microcontroller enabling full programmability of iRobot Create’s motors, lights, sounds, and sensor readings. The Command Module plugs into the Create robot’s cargo bay connector and provides on-board control with programs you write in C or C++. It has four DB-9 expansion ports for adding your own hardware. Includes Command Module CD (containing 3 example programs and the compiler), USB cable, and Quick Start Guide. Full documentation available online. And it's fairly low cost, starts at $129 for just the Bot, or up to $299 for a kit with everything
  19. I think I'm going to keep the monitors and two of the drives and one of the 128's... That leaves 2 drives, 1 64c and 1 128 (as well as the two printers) up for sale I'm offering it here before I go to Ebay so any offers PM me... And again thanks for everyone that has helped me here in the last few months... I promise all future posts will be Atari specific
  20. Seems i have a couple of disk drive cables spare.... How much do they go for? What part of the world are you in? (and just to make sure I am looking at the right thing it's the cable that has the round plugs that goes 6 pin to 6 pin right?)
  21. Seems i have a couple of disk drive cables spare....
  22. I'll take a look tomorrow, but if I recall each drive came with one cable and I don't want to separate the drives from the cables... I'll let you know... Haven't had time to have a good look yet, but at first glance it appears I wont have an extra... But I'll post if I find one... Anyone know how much a 3 1/2 inch Commodore 1581 disk drive would go for? I'm thinking I wouldn't use that one as much and probably will be the first thing I sell
