1. Nah, the market went down. Dunno if I should hold onto my rares or not, i mean its not like I play them... I dunno. 856635 Well, if you are feeling charitable, you could always slide some my way!
2. It does sound like you got a great deal. Right now, I am using a 6 switch Sears model. I keep my other consoles in storage... occasionally, I go in there and rub on them... gives me warm fuzzies...
3. Awww... c'mon... where's the TRUST???
4. Actually it cost me exactly $25. However, the hope is that it will bring more than that I got 8 games out of it. 5 were label variations, but whatever, I'll take it. Any Atari in the wild is exciting these days. I also kept a joystick because it was better looking than any of mine. I would even say mint. The sad part is that whatever I make off it will go right to someone here or back to ebay for more Atari stuff that I don't have. The more I collect for Atari the longer it gets between new stuff. Hopefully the profit from this will go to Montezuma's Revenge (2600) and a Tempest 2000 for Jag. It's a viscious Atari circle from hell. 856311 I know the feeling
5. Here is the promo I got... same thing, more pretty to look at
6. Not mine (unfortunately) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...8192626875&rd=1
7. Not mine http://search.ebay.com/_Video-Games_W0QQca...249QQsassZ07pwb
8. awww... c'mon... where's the love???
9. That is one reason why I normally will not buy ANYTHING game related from eBay. People on there have very little couth when it comes to that. But, in this money hungry society, I guess it is what can be expected.
10. It was probably some Freaky eBay pirate!!! 855144 Yeah expect it to get resold with a 1k BIN. I hate ebay, thats why i only sell on here. 855172 I agree. Sorry eBay bastards.
11. Absolutely - why invest the time to learn all the intricate controls and nuances, then to find out an hour or two later that the game really sucks. With an older game, you know pretty darn quickly is the game is bad or not and you can move on. Conversely, once you find a good modern game, it's well worth the effort to learn the game and enjoy it. The problem is finding out which is worth it or not. I pay much more attention to reviews and opinions when buying a new game because of this. 853254 I've owned games like Max Payne and Medal of Honor:Rising Sun and both were massively dissappointing to me. Nowadays, I will rent a game first before buying it. I still have to get a copy of Mercenaries. That's probably one of the few modern games that can hold my attention long enough. 853410 Well, contrary to what was just said, I do enjoy alot of the newer games.. but primarily for the PC (ya just can't beat the MOUSE LOOK). Max Payne was a game I did thoroughly enjoy.. very cinematic, with an awesome sound track. But, the days of yore will never be passed up by today's gaming. I remember when I first played the game H.E.R.O.... I couldn't believe how many screens were on that game!!! The feeling I got from those games back then, and the feeling I get when I play them nowadays, just cannot be beat!
12. I totally agree with you on your point that many games are getting too complicated. Like keilbaca, I also own an X-Box that I absolutely NEVER play, but I find myself playing my Atari 2600, old NES games, and some of my old Sega Master System/Genesis stuff. I find that the LACK of complication is actually an inspiration to my continued interest. Further, I get far more enjoyment out of finding a rare Atari or NES game far more than getting a great deal on a new computer/XBOX game. Like most people on this thread, when I tell people of my obsession with the "old school" games, people look at me like I fell off the turnip wagon or something. Even my wife makes fun of my obsession with this. Just yesterday, I got a complete, and I do mean COMPLETE Commodore 64 computer setup, still in its original boxes and plastic, for a mere $5 bucks. And let me tell ya, I got poked at alot from my family for buying "junk". As they say, one person's junk is another's treasure! So, any of you people reading this, if you feel what you have is crap, send me an email at shaggydoo29@yahoo.com , and I will be happy to take that "crap" off your hands!!! 853352 What kind of wife makes fun of her husband for the stuff he enjoys...... bummer.. 853378 LOL.. its all in good fun, trust me. Since she gets to poke fun at my stuff, I jab back at her on her Barbie and Care Bear collection!
13. Actually, I agree with you on your picks. Donkey Kong made me BEG my parents (the only time I remember begging anyone, until I became an adult, then started the awful cycle up again, this time with women) for a ColecoVision for Christmas (that was back in '82.. was 10 years old at the time). That Christmas, I got the ColecoVision, along with the pack in game Donkey Kong, also with DKjr, Zaxxon, and WarGames. Also got the 2600 expansion pack module for all my 2600 games (had about 70 of them back then). Man, that was a great Christmas! Pitfall 2 and Enduro were probably the ads that had me drooling on the 2600 (but Berzerk and Crazy Climber had me excited as well). On the computer end, Ultima III did get me really excited, as did Eye of the Beholder, and Ultima Underworld I.

15. Dang.. well, I guess I need to update my little black book of connections then! Hang on just a sec... I am still wiping up my pool of drool from that impressive list!
16. Wow.. VERY IMPRESSIVE! You certainly have a fine collection.. perhaps the best I have seen! Were these carts that you had collected since the late 70's-early 80's, or have you just now started obtaining them?
17. Does anyone on here even own a Scarcity of 10 game?? If so, how much did you pay, and how did you find it?
18. Yeah, his theory is, if you want it, thats the only way is with that price. If you look in the auctions section, we have loads of postings of auctions, including his, and we kinda poke fun at it too. 851605 Hehheh.. yeah, I can see why you would poke fun at him. He is one of the reasons why collecting these great games has become almost impossible. It is sad, yet a fact of life I suppose. Thus, my hunts for my own "Holy Grail" games continues....
19. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZatariaction This guy has some really good games, but at VERY VERY high prices!! He has Magicard here listed at $1299 with Buy It Now!
20. Hehheh.. thats pretty funny CPUWIZ... I like that
21. Beautiful system, and may I say... "Lucky Dog!!!"
22. Yes, I too thought they were in a silver box. One on eBay had just sold for $593 in its original box.
