Well, there is a "my team is perfect and as pure as the driven snow, and yours will destroy the world if we give you an inch" mentality in the USA, which narratives are driven by a lot of factors, not the least of which is the for-profit 24hr news channels, and partisan "play the refs" strategies of the 2 dominant parties. There could be a bleedover to the console wars mentality when we've been gaslit so much since Walter Cronkite died. But my first guess is that something in real life (job loss, Girlfriend cheating on them, divorce, children getting arrested, crushing debt, devastating illness, a murder in their family, or even COVID-19 death of someone close to them, etc) that hasn't smacked them in the face yet to get them to reevaluate their priorities. In other words, Amico-hate is the epitome of First World problems.

I had a cat I named Borneo, after the island. I just liked the name & looked like a treasure paradise for photography. It also stuck because he'd meow back when I said "Borneo", so he picked his own name. I'm Irish in heritage, so the Blarney Stone is a tourist attraction, so I just mashed the 2 words together as an online persona. BTW: Do NOT KISS the Blarney Stone if you visit the castle. The local kids pee on it and watch people kiss it and laugh.
