  1. Thunder Force III MUSHA Mercs TF III just edges out Lightening Force for all around package, but LF is better visually.
  2. Tomorrow will be the Sega Dreamcast's 20th Anniversary. I'm kinda new to AA, & the only Sega forum I found was Genesis, so I hope it's in the right place. Happy Birthday Dreamcast.
  3. I am, but mostly for it's shooters (I don't say shmups) like Blazing Star, Aero Fighters and Metal Slug. I'm just saying is if there's going to be a fighting game on this system, the gesture possibilities of the touch screen opens up a lot of neat possibilities instead of button mashing... but also that fighting games have evolved since the "generic guy in a gi" and they need personalities now. Actually I should state KOF & Samurai Shodown are great. But the new one for $60, even though it is in HD? Pricey.
  4. Meh. No personalities. No characters. I get that it was an early fighting game, but if that's a possibility (which I don't see why it shouldn't be) then a Ye-ar Kung Fu type of game, with actual fleshed out characters would be much better. The possibilities of the touch screen on moves is endless. Swipes, gestures, sweeps, circles etc. to pull off moves is tantalizing.
  5. Funny how SF gets no love, but that AWFUL Karateka (The absolute WORST 7800 game) gets votes. No taste!
  6. And to add a subtle value point to this, I paid for my own Intellivision through a years' worth of menial, teenager jobs. I bought most of my games with that same allowance/lawn mowing money at $25-35 a pop (Pitfall & Dragonfire were a clearance bin after the crash <$10). I think I only got 3 as gifts. Those little bast... I mean my darling step brothers, came in and destroyed my sister's game system (I didn't consider it mine anymore) without paying a dime for it. Everybody knows teenagers have no or very little money, and so what I lost was much more than the yard sale value of whatever was left. I guess I'm getting worked up by this thread now, where it's been 30 years since all this happened, and I really did get over it. My all time favorite systems, the SNES & Genesis are still with me, so I'm ok.
  7. I voted Galaga, but I'm going snowball in Hell and hoping for Dragon Breed from IREM. They're remaking IREM games, but that one never got a console launch.
  8. Capcom made one for the Saturn that had all the characters as kids, if I recall correctly. >>google>> Yeah! Here it is! Pocket Fighter
  9. Seriously though. Few of us ever heard of the Channel F or the Arcadia 2001, RCA whatchacallit and other also-rans in the early 80s. We had 3 dominant companies and Magnavox. I never saw a Commavid or Apollo game at any store. Only in magazines.
  10. That's what my sister told me. I'm sure they took a screwdriver to it pried it open or something like that.
  11. 10 years with us. She's 43 now, so yeah Tommy Tallarico! Guys in their 50s still buy game systems. ?
  12. Oh Cool! How about the old Imagic games? Are there issues with them?
  13. Is it cheap to collect for? I saw a math fun for $200 smackers! Is this any good? I have a working GC. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Intellivision-Lives-Nintendo-GameCube-2004-GameCube-Game-CIB-Complete/293186034721?_trkparms=aid%3D555018%26algo%3DPL.SIM%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D59445%26meid%3D4d3999c0a4a048bab9a334e1a6ae78e4%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D302761913994%26itm%3D293186034721%26pmt%3D1%26noa%3D0%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851
  14. I know most here already know this, but the storage box I had was this. Some people really take care of their 40 year old things!
  15. It was the first system that pauses games. It's nothing today, but was a big deal back then.
  16. Since I was used to an Atari joystick before I bought mine as a teenager, the controller took some getting used to. But I did find that it worked quite well with most games. I didn't know this at the time, but if the game was designed for the INTV controller (like Burgertime or Lock N Chase) it worked flawlessly, but if the game wasn't, like Coleco's Donkey Kong, it was truly AWFUL! But Coleco's DK was a truly awful game. I also liked the fact that I can pause my games by pressing... umm... IIRC buttons 1 and 9, I think. The screen goes black & pauses the game.
  17. Sadly no. But I'm buying 2 Amicos. One for me & one for my sister. I sold my NES for a Sega Genesis & after that, I never gave another game system away. They're all up in my closet with the Dreamcast still hooked up to a bedroom TV.
  18. This is going to sound like a Toy Story plot line about when kids grow up & abandon toys, but I'll make it short. So In 1981, I hoarded my allowance, lawn mowing money, babysitting cash and all I could to afford the $250 price tag for an Intellivision. Frog Bog was what My Mom bought along with me getting Sub Hunt or Astrosmash (can't remember exactly) along with it. I babied that thing. I had this plastic storage box made my Imagic that fit it perfectly. I panicked when my mom would pull the controller cord & drag the console closer to her so she could lounge and complain that "This controller doesn't work! It cheats!" ? Through high school, it gave me lots of enjoyment for me & my friends and my little sister. Then I joined the Army out of HS, and left it at home. My sister grew older to 8-11 years old & played with it along with her friends while I was gone. The console was in perfect condition when I got home. I hung about for a year or so & my sister & I enjoyed it. Then I went to college in 1987. It still worked like a charm. I gave it to my sister, cause I knew she would take care of it. I acquired 3 tween and under 10 step brothers during that time & while they had a Nintendo NES, they commenced to abuse and destroy my Intellivision. Ripped the controllers out of the console, broke into and lost a couple of cartridge circuit boards & rip off the bronze metal sticker. My mom threw it out while I was away and I never saw it or my 15 games for it again. I wish I had taken it with me.
