In an earlier post I made regarding BurgerTime and Bump 'N' Jump, Tommy indicated they were pushing to have them at launch, but it was more likely they would be early post-release titles. Also, just a hunch, but probably unlikely licensed properties would be pack-ins.

I'm curious, is Data East still in business? Who owns their games nowadays? It seems Sega, Irem & Bandai/Namco was happy to license out their classics, here's hoping Data East will be just as happy.

Well, at least NOW I understand why you hate Math Fun so much!!   :)

Here is my promise to you!  (and I'm being serious)...   When the new HOCKEY comes out... I'm totally sending you a code to download Hockey for free!!  It will make up for 40 years of childhood disappointment.

I'm like Santa Claus up in this bitch.  :D

You don't have to do that, but thank you very much. 😊

Is your sister still alive?  If so... you will once be Frog Bogging with her!  Imagine that!!!  How cool would that be?  And maybe if you both have kids... they'll be joining in a playing with you as well!

Oh yeah, she's around, a grown mother, playing on snapchat with the obnoxious voice changes. She's got 2 kids. Pages ago you were suggesting my niece pay Math Fun, she's hers. But now, we live as far apart as we can get and still stay within the CONUS. Her in Central WA, & Me in Tampa FL.

I'm buying her one for Xmas 2020. She hasn't decided on a color yet.

  3. I just want to mention something about the value of Amico vs. the original Mattel console.

As a teenager who had to spend my own lawn mowing and snow shoveling money to afford one (Parents said "NO!" to any video game system), not to mention 9 out of my 12 games with my own money, it's important to know that back in 1981, Intellivision was considered the "premium system" above Atari. It was $100 more than the 2600 and had FAR less games (and Math Fun... Blech! 🤮 -My Mom bought that & not Hockey like I wanted), but I thought the quality of the games were worth it.

It's like a 180 now! Amico will be at least half the price of the contemporary new XStations, and the games will be priced great, but if the crew Tommy talks about can pull it off, it'll offer plenty of new, innovative ideas to video gaming.

I wish you guys were in charge of Mattel when I needed to shovel 5 driveways for a copy of Lock N Chase. 😊

I agree it's not as ergonomic as a more modern controller (or a Colecovision Super Action Controller), but I wouldn't call it "awkward". How do you hold the controller when playing Vectron?

Here's where I'm hoping the remake (if there is a remake) can take advantage of the touch screen. The target box was moved by the side buttons, but now just a thumb placed on the L or R of the touch screen moves the box along to the next frame after the energy fills the zone up. The disc is used to shoot like normal.

I think it'd make the game easier to play myself. I hated the old side buttons. I had an original Intellivision 1.

It is sad to say but my first thought about the Atari VCS is 'wipe the hard drive' or maybe swap it out with a bigger one and just make it into a Linux/Windows TV box. Of course I am a hardware guy and know that the VCS is basically a Athlon 200GE (they are using the new low power mobile version of that chipset but the horsepower is about the same) x86 box. I mean it is nice that Atari is building in a sandbox mode and they have said it is their job to make the walled garden potion worth it to consumers, but for me so far the value is as a chunk of hardware. Maybe they can come up with something more than a subscription streaming service and a few games for it, but I would rather just have Steam and although it can't play my AAA library it would make a decent little indie gamer/Hulu/Netflix box with a cute retro case and low power draw - especially if I can get one in a bargain bin (assuming they make it to retail). Maybe the typical consumer will love it but so far they just haven't announced anything in the walled garden part that I can remotely see as attractive (I mean spend $250/$350 and THEN subscribe to retro classics?).

At this point in what they're talking about, it seems Apple Arcade already has them beat. $5 a month and AppleTV is $150 & use any old PS or XB controller you have lying around. It's not as if Centipede can't be played anywhere else... including Amico.

I dunno why they would wreck it, wasn't their property, and anything that plays games and has graphics leave alone.  I never broke any game stuff that I can recall,.... not even a controller, I only broke 2600 joysticks, due to them wearing out on me.

I have had some issues lately with a few systems, Intellivision stopped working. Odyssey 2 also. I have a working Intel, again... , so far so good been a few years now.

Will you be collecting for Intv again Blar?

I see you have Vectron as a picture, one of my favs on the console :) Underrated game big time.

This was the late 80s and they were 9-13 years old and hated my sister. Bullies actually. Rowdy and always fighting. I haven't talked to them in 15 years. Mom divorced their fath... anyhow, I'm blabbing too much. If I could use profanities, they were just little sh*ts! Maybe they did it so they can get a Nintendo NES. I dunno.

And Vectron was one of those games. 👍

She's getting an Amico. Shh, don't tell her.🤣
