Tank tops. Official Tampa wear. That extra fabric down the arms? We don't wear those arm pants here. -

You should talk. When FL hits 60 deg, all of us are freezing our butts off. -
who likes the disc controllers and who does not?
Blarneo replied to vprette's topic in Intellivision / Aquarius
I was actually talking about Vectron. Their only game in the "Arcade Network" they made. It's a weird game. Its strange play mechanic puts people off, and it bears very little resemblance to Tempest which is rumored to inspire it. But it is unique and hats off to the designer who came up with something so off the wall. -

I think it was hinted by some anonymous Ferrari driving tycoon that it has 64 contact points. -

You never gave it a chance. 😉 It is an acquired play mech, but with time, it's much more playable than Auto Racing, which is unnecessarily complicated and unrewarding. -

That is my favorite 80s controller by far! Only to be overtaken by this one in 1990. Both of them. Every game. Yes, even Zelda & Metroid. -

I didn't like the controllers. But it wasn't the disc that I had a problem with. It was the action buttons on the side. They were stiff, irritating, painful after an hour's play and way too small. The disc was great if the game was designed with it in mind, like most of the in house intv games. The third parties though, were hit & miss. -

Actually I like that, but without the orange discs. Maybe like a sea foam. It could be a St Patty's Day edition. Put a leprechaun on the front though. Any unsold consoles can just be re-packaged as Earth Day editions.😎 -

I don't think so. Those are the right way. Really? Who told Canadians they were allowed to make their bacon round?😡 -

Oh no! We're getting Homer Simpson's car design! 😥 -

Uh' no. There is no 'but' in this. Loading screens just plain suck. The universal acceptance of optical discs may have saved on costs, but that decision forced the entire gaming community to get used to it. Cartridges were instant on, and flash drives are 10x faster than the Sony royalty frisbees. -

I thought you said 40. If it's 50 then awesome! I'm still not buying Math Fun. I do that crap for work. 😂 And I think Apple Arcade is the first with 50 launch titles... if you can call that a system. Service seems more appropriate. -

Okay, I trust you for now. But she's 8 now, in Washington State, and I live in Florida. So I'm going to get the "Uncle Tracy! Why are we playing this? It's summer and no school! Take me to Busch Gardens or Magic Kingdom!" And an answer of "But this is $8, and those places are $90+" probably isn't going to cut it . 😜 I'm just thinking though, that no matter how many they will be, I could get 4 Amico games for the price of Mega Man 11 alone, or 6 for Crackdown 3. We're gonna be begging for your games like dogs who smell bacon. I'm glad you're not going for the IOS or Steam landfills, or even the piles shovelware on PS4, but there should be a happy medium between a desert and a rainforest. -

Assuming we would want every one of them. A 55 year old Network Engineer, calculating all day at work, isn't going to buy Math Fun. Yes, that's me. -

That's about 25-36 games a year. Sounds quite low of an output to me. 2-3 games a month? -

I just hope this Karma Engine isn't supernatural. What if I rage quit and the next day I end up in a car wreck? -

I'm also curious, considering Apple's penchant for unique industrial design, why they didn't design their own controller for the service & either pack it in with AppleTV or as an accessory. IOS games on ATV are horrible because of that tiny remote control. I'm wondering the same thing. One thing though... Their new Frogger looks amazing. U-huh. Right. You have a Ferrari. I think you can take out a HELOC for a $150 AppleTV. -

R-Type is for me. My favorite game of all time. And also one of the most criticized for being too hard. IREM were sometimes diabolical. -

Hey Tommy! I'm curious what your thoughts are on Apple Arcade that just got launched. They're enacting a couple of platform rules that you focus on, like no in app purchases or loot boxes & a limited, curated library. They also claim many exclusive games (from Sega and Capcom too) Hopefully you get Sega & Capcom to make a few games for Amico. Just wondering what you think of it. It's not the same as just the app store, which I originally thought it was. -

Very good rules to have. I'm glad the first one was changed. #1 I am the Lord, Thy Tommy! Thou shalt have no other Tommy before me... in line at Wendy's. -

Not to try to tell your game designers what to do, but it would be interesting if the Safecracker character was a bumbling imbecile like Inspector Clouseau who gets it right despite his mass destruction of priceless museum pieces. Not being passive aggressive in any way. Just sayin'. 👨🎨 -

That link forced me to sit through a commercial. Now I feel dirty giving Pat ad money.
