  1. Hey, I was a regular in that other thread until many months ago. I didn't know anything but the drama and no real information coming from the company and umm... (I'm not sure what the rules are about mentioning him. LOL) things just felt off and I got bored. But I gave up after the end of the year release miss. I also haven't gotten any refund back. I remember making an offhand joke a long time ago about how this sounds like the Homer Car... Little did I know it was more of a vanity project that I thought.
  2. I don't know how many times I've heard the stupid line "But how do you know you don't like girls if you never had sex with one?" I also don't need to shave my ass and sit in a bowl of gin to figure out it would be painful. So there's my answer.
  3. When I was in the Army stationed in Germany in 1985, I saw a copy of "Drachenfahr" in an electronics/record store.
  4. Why does Ian look like a screaming protester at an abortion clinic?
  5. Let's see... In not particular order... Burgertime Lock N Chase AD&D Cloudy Mtn Demon Attack Atlantis Pitfall! Skiing Vectron Mission X Sub Hunt I wish I could've had more (like Pac Man, White Water & Dreadnought Factor), but I was a poor high school kid back then. See my "violent death" post on what happened to my Intellivision back in the 80s.?
  6. I was 17. I prolly gave you a swirly* in the Boy's Room. ? *not really. I never did that.?
  7. It's a mind set meme, more than a generational thing. It's a critique of those who refuse to learn how a computer works, remember passwords, how to use an Alexa, can't help but download viruses, yell when a nephew tries to show them how a computer works, and passes on political outrage BS spam full of lies on Facebook... then decide to lecture younger generations on how they don't know how life works, having avocado on toast, or how easy it is to get a job when they don't realize that ATS resume gateway computers reject 90% of resumes submitted online, and that their college education costed 85% less than it does today.
  8. I think the religious references & iconography assigned to any guidelines or rules of '10' is pandering to those who need to nod in approval.
  9. This was the late 80s and they were 9-13 years old and hated my sister. Bullies actually. Rowdy and always fighting. I haven't talked to them in 15 years. Mom divorced their fath... anyhow, I'm blabbing too much. If I could use profanities, they were just little sh*ts! Maybe they did it so they can get a Nintendo NES. I dunno. And Vectron was one of those games. ? She's getting an Amico. Shh, don't tell her.?
  10. I was actually talking about Vectron. Their only game in the "Arcade Network" they made. It's a weird game. Its strange play mechanic puts people off, and it bears very little resemblance to Tempest which is rumored to inspire it. But it is unique and hats off to the designer who came up with something so off the wall.
  11. You never gave it a chance. ? It is an acquired play mech, but with time, it's much more playable than Auto Racing, which is unnecessarily complicated and unrewarding.
  12. That is my favorite 80s controller by far! Only to be overtaken by this one in 1990. Both of them. Every game. Yes, even Zelda & Metroid.
  13. I didn't like the controllers. But it wasn't the disc that I had a problem with. It was the action buttons on the side. They were stiff, irritating, painful after an hour's play and way too small. The disc was great if the game was designed with it in mind, like most of the in house intv games. The third parties though, were hit & miss.
  14. Split Screen option! As long as the aliens I destroy gets respawned on my opponent's playfield. ?
  15. Sounds a lot like what Disneyland did with the new Smuggler's Run ride. Each rider has a job in the Millenium Falcon. Pilot, Gunner, grabbing cargo, etc. There's a pass/fail at the end of the ride.
  16. How do I stop misquotes like this? Anyhow... Galaga 88 could use a port to a new console, since Turbografx and it's games are so hard to find.
  17. I said I give up! It's clear I'm not getting anywhere, and I really don't need the condescension & pop psychology, so you can "Finish Him!" by belaboring your point.
  18. So... put Leslie Nielsen's face on him? Of course not about sexual assault in the game, but I'm curious what were you doing when you should've been paying attention to those Dracula movies you were supposed to be watching?
  19. All of those were games designed by Irem. So it looks like a one stop shop for those. Excellent choice though. Irem made some of the best games.
  20. You announced plans to re-design Dracula. I don't envy the tightrope your designers will have to walk to keep him an icon and please the ESRB at the same time, without turning him into a muppet that counts things on Sesame Street. Dracula's only motivation is his insatiable thirst for blood. He gets this through seduction, mind control and sexual assault. He is the personification of our darkest fears of losing our autonomy and ownership of our bodies, minds and souls. It's why he's up there with Robin Hood, Merlin, Perseus and Long John Silver as a literary and cinematic icon. Even the original 1983 game has him as the player's avatar assaulting people on the street. I don't know how Dracula's character can be faithfully depicted and still remain within the rules of E10+. It seems to me that the ESRB ratings are arbitrary and capricious. Shooting somebody is OK, as long as there's no blood. Punching somebody with no blood is bad, because reasons. Biting somebody, where blood is necessary to remain true to a literary icon? Maybe they'll bend the rules.
  21. *sigh*. Okay. I give up. Let's just enjoy Armor Battle... depicting a war where over 60,000 deaths occurred defeating Nazism with the tank being the biggest death trap of all war machines. Or Night Stalker and it's neighborhood gun violence. What did those demons ever do to you? Or the ultra-sanitary way to make hamburgers... by walking on them. No e-coli there! Lock N Chase will teach our children how to rob a bank vault while trying to avoid the cops. First class family fun! Or racing cars in city streets & crashes never result in dismemberment & decapitation from flying through the windshield at 70mph. Ah SharkShark! The great circle of life. Or is it an allegory to eat or be eaten world of corporate America where you only get ahead by destroying everybody else in your never ending ambition to be the biggest fish? Do I need to even describe Dracula? I get it though. Pocket Fighter is just way too much and disturbing for a family game system.?
