  3. Hello again, @ eightbitwhit and @ Captain Kiwi - I will post right here as soon as the ordering page is online again (as in the stock has arrived at the same time!). I am expecting an update later this week from the printer (it was a holiday today in Ireland), but I hope to have stock in by week of the 4th November. As I said above, I have 25 "double packs" which will be available and a limited number of single copies of both volumes. I have had about 30 people contact me via the website to hold copies or pre-pay, but it will be first come first served until the end of November (when I take last orders for Christmas delivery in 2019). Appreciate the interest and support here from AA members. And I laughed at "F5 Derby" ?
  4. @ stepho - thanks to @ kennybrooks for getting to the reply faster than I could ? I just realised my sig with all the relevant details only appears when you are logged in, Doh!

  11. @ DarkLord, nice to see you again Sir! Your book has left the emerald isle ? @ jaybird3rd, TrekMD and sramirez2008, and anybody from AtariAge who hasn't popped in here - Hope you enjoyed the book! Thanks for your support ?
  12. Hi Laurent, I only ship directly at this time from my website. However, I do provide a bulk service for a maximum of 10 books to save on shipping. I ship books all over the world from Ireland. EU orders are obviosuly exempt from import duties. Most other countries do not add taxes to books/printed matter, although your country or state may have different regulations. Hope that answers your question.
  13. @ HatNJ - No problem, there should be enough "duo" bundles available. Appreciate the feedback ?
  14. Re: Volume One Re-Print I've had a flurry of e-mails asking me to "hold" copies of Volume One. I have replied to all of them, but just to confirm I can't/won't hold books. I did this before and only a few people actually got back to me, and when I was sold out, people were upset. So, please wait for the announcement here, or on the website and my Twitter feed (link below). And even though some of the e-mails were complellingly passionate ? there should be enough copies to satisfy everybody. Thanks for your support and obvious passion!
  15. Volume 2 - Errata: To ensure future editions are as accurate as possible, I want to list any errors in the book here for you, and to correct them if a re-print is made. Please let me know if you find anything I may have missed. Apologies for any errors that were not found in the final proof September 26th 2019: 1) Page 116, 2nd paragraph - "Atari used a Kyocera laser engine in the original SLM-804" Should be " Atari used a TEC (Tokyo Electric Co.) engine in the original SLM-804" (Supplementary note: TEC is part of Toshiba Corp. SLM was designed by Atari Japan using the TEC print engine. According ST News (http://www.stcarchiv.de/ace/49/st-news) Toad Computer (Atari reseller in the USA) posted on Genie "I also found out that the SLM804 is really an Office Automations Systems Inc. printer - the Laserpro 5308. So if you need tech specs, toner, drums, you now have an alternative source.") I have no idea why I wrote Kyocera, I may have mixed this up with the SLM-605(?) or I had just read something about Kyocera! 2) Page 181, 3rd paragraph - "By the end of 1998" Should be "By the end of 1989". <------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
  16. News from Zafinn Books: In case you missed the (hidden) news on my Twitter page, Volume One will be reprinted within the next 3-4 weeks. It is going to be a very limited re-print, with some set aside for "duo" orders (ie, Volume 1 and 2 together), and some available for anybody who may have missed it first time around. These will be available on a first come first served basis, and no pre-orders will be taken. I will post news here, on the website and the Twitter feed when it is available for sale. It will be printed on the same gloss (coated) paper used in Volume Two and use the same binding etc. Obviously, any of those nasty errors we found in the first print run have been corrected (thank you for the feedback!). More news soon.
  17. Thank you for the kind feedback fellow Atarians! It was a challenge to get the balance of these books just right, something for the new Atarians and a little something new for the older (but wiser) Atarians ? Really glad you like it, makes my day to hear it. Thanks!
  18. Hi PixelCrunch, Do you mean simply drawing (ala Spectrum512... there I said it!) or do you mean by programming? Drawing: Apart from the obvious, there is also Quantum Paint or GFA Artist. There might be others? Programming: Yes. It's a long time since I did any 68000, but if I recall you could manipulate the Blitter to add more colours. I'm sure there are some clever people on here who know much much more! Have a look at this demo on the ST-E:
  19. Hello, Maybe some kind Atari user or collector out there can help me. I was looking for my hard copy of the ad below - I know I have it because I scanned it into my database! But all I can find is the friggin' thumbnail! The associated Hi-Res scan isn't there! So, I looked through my archives, and unless I have been struck blind I cannot find it anywhere ? If anybody has this ad and can scan it in at 400DPI (no descreening) and save it as a PNG (or JPEG with no compression), please PM me. There is an Atari "Goodie Bag"* for the first person who can help me out (*the same one that I ship with my book "We Love Atari"). Appreciate your help.
  20. @ gpn Sorry about that! All going to plan we will get that Volume One re-print done this year ?
  21. In case you missed it already: Volume Two of "We Love Atari" is available now. We left Atari in Volume One as they began to wobble with finances in 1983. We start Volume Two as Atari and GCC work to design a new game console, the Atari 7800 ProSystem. Atari and its parent, Warner Communications Inc. make plans to turn Atari around and hire a new man to steer it back to profitability. But in the background the sale of the company is being plotted, and Jack Tramiel does a deal and becomes the new owner of (most) of the iconic company. We look at the "new" Atari Corporation, the amazing ST line, the XE, the Lynx, the PC range, and everything in between. Facts, figures, specs, global advertising, internal docs and photos... as much Atari as I could fit into one book! Book specs: 215 x 215mm, full colour, perfect bound, 292 pages. These books are printed in small batches, so stock is limited. For more information or to order, please visit www.zafinnbooks.com Note: If you missed Volume One, we are planning a small re-print later this year. Please keep an eye on the website or our Twitter page. Some images here:
  22. Taking orders now, this run is going fast. For those asking for a copy of Volume One, I do hope to do a small re-print in or around November all going well.
  23. Thanks again guys, This print run is going faster than I anticipated, so I am up to my eyes in packaging and labels right now! I know a lot of people are asking for Volume One, so just to let you all know a re-print is on the cards sometime in and around November. Keep a beedy eye on Twitter and the web site.
