  1. Touched up the soldering on u38 and its working!
  2. Also noticed the Motorola 68000 chip gets hot quick. Could this be because the chip is dead or could something else be causing it to get hot?
  3. So I have made a little progress. After cleaning up the chip I was able to power the console on. I can see some video but it's very poor quality and no audio. It doesn't start the game just stays at the splash screen. https://imgur.com/a/Gb4CybF. I can hear a buzzing sound coming from the area around the u38 chip. I hit the capacitor near it with my soldering iron. Think that might be the cause? CPU gets pretty warm but not too hot to touch.
  4. https://imgur.com/a/kzcnd6N Bought this as is on ebay and it looks like someone replaced a chip and botched the install. I get continuity between pins 2+3 and 4+5.Also there was a capacitor that is lacking some solder on top but the bottom looks decent. Should that be fine or should I add a little more on the top. Console was described as turning on but no sound or video. Any tips on how to fix that bad solder job if its possible?
  5. I just picked up 2 madcatz fazor light guns which came with the sega saturn adapter. I cant seem to find the ps1 adapter online without buying the whole gun again. It looks like it uses ethernet for connecting the adapters so I'm thinking it might be possible to make my own. Any ideas on how I figure out the pinout for the fazor so I could wire a playstation controller plug into a ethernet port for the gun to plug into? The picture on this listing should give you an idea on what I'm talking about https://www.amazon.com/Mad-Catz-Fazor-Gun-Sega-Saturn/dp/B00001WRJR#immersive-view_1584193904299
