  1. And yes - I confirm there is some bug in firmware that not allow to works with some ATR files (for example with Kheffington's images), I still not found reason of it, but will fix it in the near future.

Very strange symptoms - first 3 sectors of image (that loads with 128 byte size) load successfully and 4th sector loads as double sized (256 bytes) and repeated with timeouts about 10 secs.

May be someone have some ideas about reason?

I mailed Bob!k, who is the co-author of the original SDrive, with a link to this post so maybe he might be able to help you resolve this.

  2. Speed Issues:

    1) The device comes with factory default high-speed index of $06 (69000bps) and after my testing of various different speeds I think there is a reason for it. I am not sure whether the limitation is in the FW or the ARM processor but it looks like any speed index smaller than $06 either does not work reliably or at all. $05 for instance sort of works with SDX (with ATARI.SYS driver) but the speed testing software RWTEST fails with a Device Timeout error. At speed indexes $04 to $00 SDX cannot even recognize the drive. This is happening with an Atari computer upgraded with Ultimate1MB. The same computer has zero issues with a SIO2PC-USB running at any speed within the allowable range (indexes $0 to $28)

Using a different DOS often helps. Under QMEG, for example, values up to $02 work well. Some Atari machines require a hardware hack on the SIO lines. I'm sure somebody here will know what has to be soldered there. Anyway, even at $06 the speed is quite decent, compared to stock 1050 (19200bps) or XF551 (38400bps).

  3. Current WIP for the splash screen.

I found out that there was no version of this particular Bosconian logo style with a black background on the machine/cab artwork or any other literature. I think it was just adapted for some website or other online media presentation, and thus floating around out there. So, I wanted to do a version in the original white background. I still like how the black background looks, though, and I think Shanti77 still prefers it. So I'll be working on a black version too (takes a different approach to achieve in Graph2Font).

BTW, credit goes to Shanti77, as this logo was built/reworked from the original one he made and used in earlier released betas.

    This is on NTSC.

Here's the Japanese flyer that this particular logo comes from.

If someone would be kind enough to try this out on real hardware with a CRT, I'd appreciate it. I don't have anything set up in my place at the moment and I'm curious how it works out because it's using widescreen mode.

Quite nice, but why don't you make use of DLIs for the colour transition in the logo to show off Atari's colour capabilities? :)
