Thank you Kaz, for making another year of the Kompo! And thanks to everyone who voted for our game (and for the others, too)! We will try to bring you more great productions for our little machine! -
E-Type, Fandal and my christmas gift...
pseudografx replied to Irgendwer's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
Thank you, guys. Have a nice Christmas! -
analmux: I do not criticize emkay's effort, I was just complaining that it is... well.. demanding to listen so such a wrong rendition of that great song. I know emkay has not musical ear and I understand that it is difficult for him to make the tuning right. And I also appreciate his effort in exploring POKEY's possibilities. By the way, Instrumentarium is one of my favourite tunes. And it really hurts me that you say that I never post anything positive.
-
Believe me, it is out of tune. Each channel plays with a different frequency offset. And they are all wrong.
-
Oooh, completely out of tune. My ears just got knotted.
-
Ok, maybe it is not as common as I suggested, but it is definitely a well documented technique. I just remember watching a recent demo (2014 or 2015) that supports this. Can't remember its name though.
-
AFAIK the 2MHz mode can be used with VIC-II during vertical blank. It is commonly used in many modern C64 demos to speed some routines up when running on a C128.

New POISON album "rePulsed" is OUT NOW!

Why not? -
Please add more POKEY cores. Quad-POKEY would be nice :-)
-
Just download the whole ASAP package and the WinAmp plug-in DLL is there.
-
Thanks, we're glad you like it :-)

The reason is to have better compression ratio - the inner zip file uncompressed to have everything as one large chunk of data. ZIP compresses each file individually so it cannot make use of repeating data among several files.

Great news for all fans of POKEY sound chip! The Atari SAP Music Archive has been updated with 273 new songs, bringing the total to whooping 5281 POKEY tunes. The update includes lots of added information and bugfixes. Download the archive at the official ASMA homepage.

Meet you all there! :-)

PRO ( C ) ATARI Issue #6 + Shirts ...
pseudografx replied to powersoft's topic in Atari 8-Bit Computers
AFAIK, Markus is often busy with his business stuff, as he works in the music industry and since this is the season of festivals, he may be a bit unresponsive. -

Just a quick mock-up of a 5-colour version (for ANTIC 4 mode). -
Still, to turn it into a full-featured FPS would involve a lot of CPU power needed for large sprites that must be resizeable, clipped when moving half-way behind walls, with collision detection etc. Actually I do not wonder that the work has stalled at the current phase.

He got a surgical intervention yesterday and it seems that everything turned out well.

Hi everyone, I just want to inform you that ctirad is currently in the hospital, recovering from a serious illness. We all wish that he will recover quickly.

As the STIL.txt in ASMA informs: Although the C64 version was composed by Rob Hubbard, Hubbard has confirmed that the Atari version isn't his.

fjc: who would have believed you can code such quality software when you can't round $30 for a piece of acrylic is indeed way too much. It should cost less than $10.
