  1. Compucentre used to to sell the TG-16, I worked there back in the day and they even had the CD player add on. That ad with the 5200 is an American ad actually, I never did see a 5200 for sale in Montreal. Most of my ads are Canadian though.
  2. Sure that's cool, they are meant to be shared.
  3. Ok I scanned some more, figured I'll just post them here since that's easier. I have very few Intellivision ads alas, I was much more of an Atari fanboy back in the day and then transitioned to Colecovision. On the back of some of these were ads for old computers so I scanned those as well. There's more but most of the remaining ads tend to be more for the NES era although there are still some Colecovision ads in there as well, I'll post them over time.
  4. Yeah they are from Canada, Montreal to be exact. Games were pricey at the time, like from these ads which has Genesis games at $80 and Blazing Lasers for $90! I like the 3rd ad here which shows the 2600 still being sold alongside the Sega Genesis, that little 2600 had some serious lasting power. I guess I should just scan all these ads and toss them on a website, at least that way they all get preserved.
  5. Wasn't sure where to put this, but I guess the general section works. I recently sold my entire video game collection, but found that I still have a binder full of old video game ads I used to collect when I was a kid, mostly from 1982 to 1988 or so time frame. I was wondering, are there any websites out there that like to archive such ads? I scanned a few and included them below, I can scan more if there are some websites out there that like this sort of thing. Seems like a waste for me to just keep them all in a box if there are others that like to revisit old video game print ads.
  6. Lol I was thinking the exact same thing myself! He turned out to be a deadbeat bidder though, had to relist it.
  7. I used to ship outside the usa but it was such a colossal hassle that I gave up on it alas.
  8. Thanks! I had my fun with them, now it's time to pass them on to future collectors to enjoy.
  9. I'm selling my entire Atari 2600 and Atari 5200 collection on ebay including many rares. See all the items listed under my username there 'joker454' at this link: http://www.ebay.com/sch/joker454/m.html It's over 400 items and there's about 2 days left in most of the auctions, this is a good way to get the missing items for your own collections!
  10. Shown in the picture, top two rows and the left part of the lowest row. Still not complete, but getting there I also have a four port 5200 unit modified with s-video that sits on my office desk.
  11. Well is there any website that has a definitive guide on which boxes are oldest? I'm going through my collection and realizing I have far more Atari 2600 duplicate boxes that I expected, so before I ebay the dupes it would be cool to know which are the oldest ones. Here's another example I just found in this pic: http://realitystudiollc.com/images/2600boxes.jpg Top to bottom that's Video Olympics, Homerun, and Breakout, where the backs of each box are shown. To the left is the better condition box, and to the right I put the worse version of the box that I have condition wise, but I'm getting the feeling the ones on the right are the older ones...but I have no way to know for sure.
  12. Yeah a long time ago! It wasn't clear at that time though. Both boxes are the 256 game variations versions, it's the just art that is different on each so I was curious how to determine which was earlier. Both also say 1980 on the back. Figured maybe enough time passed and the mystery was solved, since I have no clue which one is the earlier version.
  13. Ok thanks, makes sense. I also noticed afterwards that the manual with special edition box says Rev 1, whereas the manuals with the non special edition boxes say Rev 2, so mystery solved. On a similar note, any idea which of these Maze Craze boxes is the original? http://realitystudio...s/mazecraze.jpg
  14. Hi guys I have some doubles in my collection and I'd like to keep the original versions of the boxes whenever possible since I'm not collecting variations. I have these versions of both Casino and Video Chess: http://realitystudiollc.com/images/casino_videochess.jpg Any idea which ones are the originals?
  15. I have two heavy sixers. One is kinda beat up, so that's the one I modded with the composite out. The other is in more pristine condition, I've left that one as is. It's worth doing the mod, makes it easier to quickly hook up and play, I leave it hooked up in my office just off to the side sometimes just running in attract mode.
  16. Cool thanks for that, I just placed an order. I would have bought more but I literally just bought 49 boxes from someone else yesterday
  17. I've been checking CIB auctions as well, but damm they all seem to be pricey lately. Maybe these games are getting more rare, but $20 per game seems a bit much! I'll keep an eye out though.
  18. Thanks that's what I was looking for, oddly I didn't even know of that site
  19. Is there any good place to buy only Atari 2600 boxes for the games? I have many games that are cart + manual only, and I want to get the boxes for them. Ebay seems to have slim pickings, was hoping maybe there was some other website that is a gold mine for this sort of thing that I don't know of. Looking to do the same with my Intellivision games as well.
  20. Argghh! Ok, I guess I have to keep checking ebay. Looks like I'm missing another box anyways, I just saw a variant on the Pac Man box which I don't have: A box rarity guide would be great, but I could see that being tough to start since most people don't collect the boxes anyways.
