It is absolutely okay for the system to have issues at this point. Perfectly okay and understandable.Does this issue exist? That is all I would like to see proof of. Not compensated testimonials. I could give you a dozen scientologists who would swear to your face that Xenu is real. I just want to see proof of it myself before I change my mind.
If Intellivision Entertainment said "Yes, there are some lag issues we're still working out.", then that would be understandable. But that's not what is being said. So, for you to say "It's pointless to ask about issues on an unfinished product" is frankly disingenuous and not conducive to the conversation at all. The question is less about if there is lag and more about if there are issues (frankly, a pretty petty and small issue) that Intellivision Entertainment are denying exists for virtually no reason. Because if they're willing to bend the truth about something this petty, what else are they lying to us about.Hope that helps you (and some others) understand the concern, Thanks.
Hi Tommy. Thanks for joining the discussion.
First, let me clarify that I'm simply not interested in the petty grievances others may have against you or what you're doing or what issues you may have with them. So let's move past that drama and stick to the amico, deal?
To answer your question, a simple yes or no won't do.
The problem is, many of the people who have commented on this are individuals who are invested, are receiving compensation, and/or are not professionals at reviewing hardware/software. Like the guy who runs the official amico sub on reddit. In very clear violation of reddit rules, he has received perks and boasted about getting them from Intellivision Entertainment. Reddit rules specifically forbid sub moderators from receiving any kind of compensation. You can see why I might be sus of someone like that. And youtubers who get rewarded with free hats, tee, and Q&As with you. Have you been willing to go on a youtube broadvast/interview with someone who has been openly critical of the amico? Or only those who support what you're doing?
The IGN article is the first time someone wholly independent of compensation has come out with a hands-on of the system. They showed a video of the screen being unresponsive and sluggish. You first said this was due to the system not being up to date - which is a perfectly reasonable explanation. You then said the lag doesn't exist. Which means you're saying the video is lying to my eyes.
Is there perceivable lag/response issues? If so, that's fine. You're at least five months from launch. Do these issues not exist at all? Even better! So.... can we see a video that is comparable to what IGN showed, but shows these specific issues have been addressed?
Thanks. As I understand the IGN article and follow up was not about lag with the game itself but with the touch screen on the controller. Also from what Intellivision has said the unit this person played on was one of the very early units with resistive instead of capacitive screens and an older version of firmware.
The proof that this is no longer an issue is that people who have actually played a newer unit and newer version of the controller which includes capacitive touch screens have all said there is no perceivable lag. I don’t know about you but for me that information is enough to put to rest any concerns about lag

It would be nice if every month 2 more games would be shown. Surely the game designers have all they need in their development kits to accomplish this.
If my memory serves Intellivision had around 50 games in development with 30 to 35 set to be launch titles which would leave 15-20 games for the post launch release of we assume 4 games released a month that’s 3-4 months worth of games and we know production has already started on another 50 games. We know most games should be able to be developed in a max of 6 months and we are just under 6 months from release if we assume on the high side that 10 games per batch don’t meet release standard that’s still 30-35 games for release and 45-50 on the shelf for 4 releases a month which would give them a max of 11-12 months worth of games by launch or shortly after

1 hour ago, Talerian said:Hi folks,
while I read most of the posts here I only post something by myself occasionally, but now I once again have two questions for Tommy that recently came to my mind:
1. Will you mark all the games that were specifically designed for the amico from the ground and have no other versions on any other systems with something like an "only for" as other companies do? From a customer's perspective I would really appreciate this as a valuable information as it would indicate that the whole design process was done with the amico system and your game design philosophy in focus. That doesn't mean I would not buy games that exist on other systems in a non-amico exclusive version, but for me those "only for" games would more easily be an instant buy. Will you also specify your exclusivity promise one day in the future by saying something like: About/at least x% of our annual game releases will be total exclusive for the system with the rest of the releases being amico-unique versions of games that also exist somewhere else. I think it would give the customer a clear idea what to expect and stop the nitpickers to start any discussion concerning exclusivity.
2. Do you consider any FREE post launch content for your games e.g. to celebrate high selling numbers. Or adding a special-themed car for example to Nitro Derby when EWJ 4 is released. Or maybe a pumpkin car to celebrate Halloween... May we expect things like that?
Number 2 is most likely a no. Anything they want to add would just end up in a sequel for the current game in order not to muddy the waters on dlc

Here is a bit of an in depth look at the Amico console carrying bag (NOTE: I believe Tommy said these were production, or close to it, but obviously small details could change)
First here is the front side of the bag, with the Amico blue logo. The main bag area is about is about 13 inches (33 cm) wide at the widest point and about 11 inches (28 cm) tall (about, because it is a padded, soft sided bag so the size depends on how much you do or don't squish it). Notice the padding pleats, they are all around the bag to cushion the contents:
Also the iconic Running Man makes an appearance on the lower right side - this also shows a closeup of the (nylon?) outer shell.
Note the long shoulder strap is removable and there is a double zipper design:
The clip on shoulder strap can be adjusted between from about 50 inches (127 cm), down to around 28 inches (71 cm) long
Inside the bag is a large main pocket and a side pocket (nearly invisible on the right - it has Velcro keeping it closed) for cables and such:
The side pocket open inside the main part of the bag:
Note the inner material has a baby blanket like finish to help prevent scratches
On the flip side of the bag are two controller pockets. Note more padding pleats & the Amico blue pull tabs for the Velcro holding each one shut:
He is a closeup of the pull Velcro tab and pocket for one of the two controller side pockets
Overall the bag seems really thoughtfully & well designed to safely transport your Amico and controllers.
Very well done. Cool to see the design that went into that bag just shows how much they care

MicrosurgeonDemon Attack
Give me your list in order of those 3... of which ones you would like to see first.
Mine is Microsurgeon, Beauty and the Beast and then Demon Attack.
Mostly because Microsurgeon is such a unique experience and game compared to others we have in our line-up. But it will be a little more 2.5D shooter than the original. We are thinking of cool ways to make Beauty and the Beast have more depth. Things like different style buildings, more enemies and things to get in the way, reverse Elevator Action vibes but with window cleaning platforms instead of elevators, etc.
Demon Attack will be Phoenix, Galaga/Galaxian, Gorf, etc. on steroids.
What are your thoughts?
We never owned a ton of the Imagic titles Demon Attack may have been the only one but seeing the game play for the games over the years I agree with your order for similar reasons

I'm typically the one who gets a lot of the questions... so I thought I'd ask everyone here one.
Trying to be as non-biased to your own wants/needs... at this point, if you had a choice for a new video would it be...1. Brand new game footage of something we haven't really showed before (or at least too much of).
2. A game showing off what the controller can do and why it's unique.
3. In depth interview with one of our developers.
4. In depth interview with someone on the Intellivision team (who isn't me!). If so... who or what department?
5. An interview or focus test with moms, families, seniors.
6. Suggest a subject to me not listed!
No need to pick just one either, feel free to give them back to me in order of importance and with notes, suggestions. Thanks!!!
p.s. Please don't ask about physical media. We're saving that for a very special partner.
4. Bill Fisher I saw him in an interview with other Blue Sky Rangers and the details in is stories made Gus fascinating interview so I’d really enjoy getting to hear an interview about the new system.
5. I just think a focus test/interview would be interesting to see why others are excited
2. Showing off the controller capabilities would be fun to see since it’s such a different controller and such a huge focus of the system
3. I really have enjoyed other developers segments in videos and getting an in depth interview would be great.
1. As much as I love the game play trailers and they are always welcome for me the idea of different types of videos is too intriguing to pass up

I know it's been brought up before. But what is the highest amount of GB on an SD card that the Amico accepts? One time I recall you saying 128GB was the most that would work. In the interview you did with Retro Bro last night you said that a 64GB SD card could be used. So, I just want to make sure I get the right SD card. If 128GB is the highest then I'd get that. Not trying to go back and forth with SD cards.
Don’t hold me to this cause I don’t remember what page it was on but I think in a previous post Tommy said there wasn’t a limit he was aware of at that time though that could have changed and I just missed it too

I'm still wrapping my head around the sideways aspect of it as Breakout has always been a Vertical-type game. That may be just me. I get why, you use up more screen that way. Not everyone can set their TVs Vertical! I'm sure more news and game play videos are on their way. As much as I want to see new stuff, I get why you are only showing things that you have already showcased. You do have to save something for later
I also get why you didn't do more showing off gameplay with people on it. I'm sure that no matter what lag, if any, may be present currently, you would not allow a laggy game/system to be released. Will there be a Tommy Seal of Approval on all games?
All games will have the Blue Sky Rangers seal of approval

Thanks! Would be interested in hearing what everyone in here would like to see on Evercade!
Please keep in mind the following...
No licenses (i.e. stuff we don't own) and it can't use the keypad too much (i.e. Utopia = no). But for small things like the AUTO FIRE in Astrosmash can easily be mapped to another button.Let's hear it folks!
Now is your time to be heard! What do you want???
p.s. Imagic would be a separate 3rd collection, so I'm only talking Intellivision owned properties. And yes... AD&D can be branded as Cloudy Mountain! Tron Deadly Discs much tougher because of the imagery within the game.Spent some time thinking about this one not sure if the game I would like most could happen in Horse Racing so many fond memories of that game. Really looking forward to a reimagined Amico version too kind of hoping for horses colored like in the Wizard of Oz in it. All the other games I can think of have been mentioned already so I’ll leave my list at one

I can understand your point there but I can also see it from the other side too. I mean this same group claimed terrible lag on the controller on a video where Tommy had to explain using a spitter because in the previous videos they had accused the footage of being faked my point being if that 3 seconds of video hadn’t been there it wouldn’t have stopped them from trashing the video for a different reason because all that group ever does is find any reason to hate on it because it has the audacity to try and be different from other consoles.

13 hours ago, Intellivision Master said:Right. I'm just wondering if they'll be a tech support department. If not then I guess customer service will have to do.
My thinking was that with the focus on a simple interface and a quality seal they will hopefully be very limited in tech support calls though I do recognize they will happen so my thought was you call costumer service and they would send you up the line to tech support if needed. I don’t know if that’s how it would work but it was the assumption I made in my response

After the Amico releases and people buy it, will there be a way to reach tech support if something goes wrong? Hopefully a phone number or live chat are available. I know Nintendo has a number for customers who have questions or tech issues. I'm sure you have something in place to help with this once the console is on the market.
They have their customer service office in Utah cause we saw Britni (sorry if the spelling is wrong)in the August 5th video so I’m sure that they will have the number for customer service or support listed

I’ve had this idea floating around my head for a few weeks that I think would be tons of fun for a Christmas themed game. With Tommy’s history with Video Games Live and the lights on the console I think I really neat idea would be to work with Trans Siberian Orchestra and create a video game based around one of their Christmas Concert Stories using the songs from that concert and the lights to enhance the game. By the way TSO live is an amazing experience saw two of their shows The Christmas Attic I know was one I think the other was The Lost Christmas Eve both were amazing presentations

I can only guess at this one but I would assume that the physical game gets added to your system with other games and a patch if needed would be downloaded in the background

Another thought is patches and updates. Will games have them and if so how would physical media get patched?
The only thing pushed out for games after release would be if a flaw is found in the game and a patch is needed to fix it. Other than that it would just be a follow up game like the planned series of games for Moon Patrol-

After seeing all the Issues Atari is having with the prelaunch of the VCS the store really lacks in games and the pricing for those games is all over the place but I don’t think you will ever see a ton of original games for the system because Atari has to outsource everything since it’s just a marketing/licensing firm these days. I know there is potential there as a stream box to play steam library or other streaming services but that’s an awfully large price to pay for that kind of a thing it seems to me of course I could be wrong as I don’t get into game services like that.
It does make me happy and really put into prospective though for me as someone who up until the Amico announcement didn’t really follow gaming news just how open Intellivision has been during development. I am also very happy that Intellivision is not interested in rushing a product to market instead doing what it takes to give us the best experience possible on their system
