  1. I purchased an Intellivision game lot. Quick and easy transaction as always.
  2. Today, I picked up my very first heavy sixer from its original owner. It was bundled with a bunch of cartridges and several controllers. SN: 95654M
  3. @Max_Chatsworth Happy is a disk drive enhancement that added new capabilities. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Happy_drives
  4. Thanks. I reached out to pixelboy and will register with him to buy the controller.
  5. My patch arrived! Thanks @Machine! Looks fantastic like all the other patches.
  6. Wow, a sought after FS120 Trinitron and not a ridiculously big one that'd require multiple weight-lifters. I'd be all over this if I was in Indiana and swap out my Trinitron. Hopefully, someone will quickly take up chicgamer's generosity.
  7. @The Strangest I strongly suggest reaching out to @ikonsgr and ordering one or two 5200 9 pin adapters from him. While the analog stick on the native 5200 controller works well enough for most games (in my opinion), a digital controller will feel more comfortable. The adapter is very affordable and opens up the ability to use a Genesis controller with the 5200. And you can save wear and tear on the 5200 controller joystick.
  8. Popeye works fine. I don't know why but launching Bounty Bob file from AtariMax cartridge results in a black screen. AtariMax said it's loading and then just a black screen. Maybe I have a bad bin file. I tried starting the game with the 5200 controller connected directly to the console (took out the adapter) and same thing.
  9. I played Gyruss, Berzerk, and Moon Patrol and it worked fine.
  10. Oh, I see what you did You can ignore my question
  11. Why yes, I do have a second Sega arcade joystick on the way. How'd you know? I don't suppose there's already someone who makes a "Redemption" adapter?
  12. Super cool @Shawn! It looks like you used a 5200 cartridge shell 👍 I see there's a connector at the bottom of the keypad. What's that used for?
  13. I bought Austin's OSSC. Communication was quick and it was shipped immediately and packed very well. Great transaction 👍
  14. My 5200 controller inspiration! I recently subbed your channel. You've been extremely helpful as I put together my 5200 setup. I was trying out one of these custom 7800 controllers and it was hit or miss with the ikonsgr adapter. I wasn't expecting it to work but wanted to try it anyway. The other day, I picked up the Genesis arcade stick, and it worked perfectly.
  15. 🙋‍♂️ as a kid, I pumped in a lot of quarters into Star Castle. It was at a convenience store conveniently located right next to the apartment building where we lived. I got the 2600 release from the store here. It'd be phenomenal to see it for the 5200.
  16. I bought this Pi 3B+ case on Etsy back in 2018 -- a little mini 4-switch 2600. I think I've seen even better looking 2600 cases now.
  17. Prior to assembling my Atari 5200 SuperSystem setup, I did a little homework into the infamous 5200 controller issue. Based on the what I heard on The Atari 5200 Podcast and Wired-Up Retro, I decided early on to order the DB9 controller adapter for the 5200 made by @ikonsgr (he also sells on ebay but I can't find his ebay link right now). Atari 5200 Podcast https://theatari5200superpodcast.libsyn.com/episode-1-getting-started-and-new-beginnings Wired-Up Retro The adapter arrived a few days ago from Greece (it's times like this when I love how technology has brought us closer together to share a hobby). Today, I got a chance to use it with my Atari 7800 controller (made by Retrogameboyz) and a few games. Now I was aware that 7800 controllers would not work perfectly with this adapter and the 5200, but that's the DB9 controller I had on hand (Genesis arcade stick on the way). I tried three 5200 games (via AtariMax cartridge). Berzerk didn't like it -- the man wouldn't move and continuously fired shots. In Moon Patrol, the joystick worked well, and the fire button too, but both 7800 buttons registered to fire the gun only -- no jump button. Pac-Man worked flawlessly. The conclusion of my limited testing? I'm very happy as I had expected. Since nearly all 5200 games do not require analog controls, the ikonsgr adapter is a very affordable solution to enabling digital joystick/gamepad on the 5200 platform. Once the Genesis arcade stick arrives, my 5200 setup will be complete. Atari 5200 controller issues are really overblown and overstated IMO and shouldn't stopped anyone who wants to experience arcade action at home on the beautiful Atari 5200 SuperSystem.
  18. Thank you @sramirez2008! I’m extremely happy that I got one that was fully restored by Jesse. Buying old electronics is a bit of a crapshoot, so getting one from him meant a lot to me. BTW there are multiple “sramirez” on AA But you knew that already 😊
  19. I only got a 5200 last month, so I'm very new. I also never considered getting a 5200. I didn't own one as a kid, and I wasn't sure about getting into collecting for a new console. I did play it regularly at my friend's house as a kid in the early 80s. I loved playing RS Football with him although he crushed me all the time. Couple of months ago, I decided to get a 5200 because, first and foremost, it's an Atari console. Even if I didn't play games on it, I'd have wanted one for display alone. I found the perfect one here in the AA for sale forum right when I started looking, one lovingly restored by Crossbow. Second, I decided early on to get the AtariMax cartridge and not buy actual games to save space. Third, I read up on the 5200 controller situation and decided that it way overblown. I saw YouTube videos on the adapter made by @ikonsgr that allow you to use other controllers (e.g., Genesis gamepad) with the 5200. So, where am I now with the 5200? I'm still in the process of setting it up. The adapter from ikonsgr arrived a couple of days ago. I did get the AtariMax cartridge, but I found a great deal on a bunch of 5200 CIB games on ebay and bought most of them. I also got a tube TV a few weeks ago and that's made a huge difference to the gaming experience. I now have 2600, 5200, and 7800 consoles, and I am very happy. The first time I played 5200 Berzerk, I knew I made the right decision. The 5200 is a thing of beauty that has gone under appreciated too long. It kills me that one of my favorite YouTubers, Metal Jesus Rocks, called it out as the worst console. Oh well, to each his own, but I'm right and he's dead wrong
  20. I'd like a boxed copy and am totally willing to pay for it. I've been following since the game debuted on the ZPH show.
