  1. I have them and don't think they have a short throw, I just hate the Bate Tops and you have to buy Ball Top Sticks for $14 each of you want to change them
  2. I used 2 of the Ultimarc Mag Stick Plus joysticks for my 19-in-1 build http://www.ultimarc.com/controls.html They switch ok but you have to get used it
  3. 2 Minute video of my control panel in action J Defender Control Panel Vid.mp4
  4. For my three 60-in-1 conversions I choose to use that card for 3 different cabinet based on the controls, 8-way and track ball games in one, 4-way games in another and 2 way games in another. For the amount of money it costs to build these modded machines it just didn't make sense to try and cram all of the games I wanted to play into one cabinet However, on my 19-in-1, I went with a pair of Ultimarc Mag Plus sticks that can be switched from the top of the panel. I really didn't want to have 3 horizontally oriented cabinets with 2-3 games on each. However, I am using a relay and switch system to re-configure the controls for the different games on that board.
  5. It looked like it was in attract mood and the person was just pretending to play.
  6. I use computer ATX connectors on the Jamma harness to make installation easier The 8 pin connector is for the TEST/SERVICE/SPEAKER PANEL which is all located on my H panel along with the power switch The 24 pin connector goes to my control panel
  7. This is the second Arcade1Up modding thread that I posted that seem to be of not interest to the members of this forum. I guess I'm in the wrong forum. I would really like to find a group that likes to discuss these machines so does anyone know of a forum more dedicated to Arcade1 Up? I did some Binging and nothing really showed up.
  8. In anticipation of modding my Arcade1Up Asteroids Cabinet into a William 19-in-1 I have been all of the net gathering info and one thing seemed common. To date no one has come up with a good solution for the control panel layout for the 19-in-1 card Most use multiple joysticks and some use interchangeable panel, neither of those appealed to me so I put my 30+ years of experience as an aircraft electrician to use and I think I came up with a good solution. This info is applicable for the board set to Upright/2set of Controls. I used Ultimarc Mag Stick Plus Joy Sticks because they can be switched for 4-way to 8-way operation from the top of the control panel. This so you do not have to have multiple sticks to paly the different games. In order to preserve the original Defender/Stargate button Layout I had to use 2 DPDT relays and a switch. These relays provide normal player 1 / 2 operation when the Defender switch is off but when it is on, it reroutes all of the appropriate control signals to the respective wires on the Jamma harness. The only change to the original Defender/Stargate Button layout is the addition of 2 buttons for the right hand joystick that offer S1 and S2 function to Player 1 for the rest of the games and should not interfere with Defender/Stargate Gameplay PANEL LAYOUT RELAY 1 -SWITCH RELAY Normal Operation – Right hand (player 2 ) red (S1) and white (S2) buttons go through the Normally Closed contacts of the relay to the Jamma Harness Player 2 S1 and S2 wires Defender/Stargate Operation –Player 2 S1 and S2 are re-routed to the Jamma harness Player 1 S1 and S3 wires through the Nornally Open contacts of the relay Additional Info – Player 1 red button (S1) and green button (S3) are connected in parallel to the respective Jamma harness wires at the relay so that in the Normal operation the Player 1 buttons control the appropriate functions. RELAY 2 –JOYSTICK RELAY Normal Operation – Player 2 Up and Down functions go through the relay to the Jamma Harness Player 2 Up and Down Wires. Defender/Stargate Operation –Player 1 Up and Down functions are re-routed to the relay to the Jamma Harness Player 2 Up and Down Wires, that way, both players can use the LH Joystick. Additional Info – Player 1 Up and Down functions are wired in parallel with the respective Jamma harness wire at the relay so that in Normal operation the right hand joystick control the Up and Down functions for Player 1 Normal Operation – Player 1 left and right functions go through the relay to the Jamma Harness Player 1 left and right wires Wires, Defender/Stargate Operation –Player 1 Left and Right functions are disables because the isn’t any connection to the Jamma Harness. I'm waiting on parts for my conversion so this info is based on what I have researched on multiple forums and web sites Once I build my machine I will be able to confirm that this works but if anyone sees any issues post below SW1 - Fire SW2
  9. I guess you guys are more interested in discussing missile command then modding a machine. I'll quit wasting my time updating this thread.
  10. Control Panel Mock up done. Everything seems to be easily accessible
  11. I'm in the process of converting 2 AIU games into multicades and I plan to convert a couple more. If I could find a inexpensive source for the LCD monitors I could use the AIU control panel and LCD diver board to create some countercades I plan to order Blackout edition Marques so I could even use those for the top
  12. I cut the template for the equipment panel that I'll use for all of my modified cabinets It's attached to the back of the front K panel. I'll eventually add a screw to the left and right side during the final assembly to make it more secure
  13. As far as I know, the 60-in-1 doesn't have any repeated games. On my card there's about 10 -14 games that I have no desire to play so they'll be disabled. I have read that 8-way sticks can cause problems in a 4-way games if you hit a diagonal direction. So I started to think about making 3 separate 60-in-1 machines and the more I thought about it the more I liked the idea of not having so many games in a single cabinet. PLUS it gives me a reason to mod some of my favorite cabinets - Galaga, Pacman and Centipede.
  14. Can't wait to see the video Is you game list the same as the normal 60-in-1? How does it work with the mix of 8/4/2 way Joystick Games? How is your menu system set up
  15. I think I got the control panel worked out I printed a paper copy of this and I do a quick mock-up on 1/4 plywood once I have all of my controls
