Greetings and salutations from a new member! I mention "Atari" to most and either they look at me blankly (didn't they play games when they were young?) or they say, "Wow, you still play that OLD thing..the games today are much better than the Atari ones back in the day." Hrm, I think to myself. I'm not playing for the graphics, I'm playing for the game PLAY. To me, that's always made more of a difference than pure prettiness from some of these console systems. Don't get me wrong..I was "wowed" with the next-gen consoles, but I always go back to the old classics (Asteroids, Berserk, Missle Command, Space Invaders, to name a few). They are just plainly and simply FUN!
For those of us who collect, play, and enjoy Atari in all it's simple goodness, we stand united and as was said, Atari will NEVER die. We are the backbone of a historical period in gaming history. Never forget that.
