  1. If you just need the board I found them on CanaKit for $12.95 CAD. That's for the Pi Zero W, which is what I ended up purchasing. The only catch is that there's no free shipping option so that increases the overall cost. https://www.canakit.com/raspberry-pi-zero-wireless.html
  2. ? This is brilliant! Nicely done, @rietveld I think I'll have to order myself a Pi Zero and give this a try.
  3. Somehow I didn't get it. This is for the ADAM variant of the SGM, right? Can you please post or PM me the pre-order link?
  4. I came here for exactly the same reason! I added my email when that post went up on FB but I haven't heard anything since and was starting to get worried that I had typo'd my own email address and missed the announcement.
  5. Insta-bought the Kindle release the day it came out!
  6. Seems to be working! It wouldn't launch when I copied the SDL2 framework to /Library/Frameworks (security issue) but I was able to get it to work by installing the framework in my user ~/Library/Frameworks folder instead. I can't test thoroughly test right now but I was able to get it to boot a few different .dsk images without issue. Full screen worked too! A couple of issues I did notice so far: The names of the mounted disk images don't show up in the menu Mounting to anything other than disk 1 or tape 1 doesn't seem to work Thanks for developing this! ?
  7. Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I'm wondering if @Geoff Oltmans or anyone else has ADAMem SDL binary running on modern macOS? The old one will no longer work (likely due to it being 32-bit). I currently use ADAMem via DOSbox on my Mac but it'd sure be nice to have a GUI for it.
  8. That sounds like a great idea! Not sure if you've seen "Silicon Cowboys" (about Compaq) but something in that style with the ADAM/CV as the focus would be very cool.
  9. Upcoming CV/ADAM book? Given that you posted this in 2016, whatever happened to this book?
  10. It seems to be mostly up... this is probably the page you'd be interested in though: http://www.diroccovision.com/Coleco/adam/ADAM.htm ?
  11. Very cool! I love that the ADAM can be connected via WiFi like this. Now we just need some ANSI-capable terminal software for ADAM! ?
  12. ? Totally jealous rn!! Mind if I ask where did you find one and is there any more?
  13. Wait... does this mean you found a serial card for your Adam??
  14. Bump! Also... failing to locate an MIB3 card, I could definitely use a (slot one) dual serial card instead. Basically, if you have any card that adds a serial port to the Adam I am interested. ?
  15. Welcome to the club. I have been looking for an ADAM serial card for months with absolutely no luck! I have posted all over and even messaged people privately but... nada. I bought a WiModem232 a while back figuring that I would eventually come across an MIB card so I could use it. Little did I know just how scarce those cards would be!! The most frustrating thing is that it seems like I just missed the window of availability. Based on the many threads and posts I've scoured over this time there seemed to be (some) cards available as late as 2018 but I didn't pull my ADAM out of storage until 2019. I do have an ADAMLink modem but I don't have the hardware skills to convert it so I'm in the same boat as you.
  16. I've already pre-ordered the book anyway but if you have time to include some Mac-specific instructions that would be greatly appreciated!
  17. Thank you so much for posting this! I was pulling my hair out trying to figure out why I couldn't write to a blank disk image. After DEL *.* it's all good!
  18. Started a new microblog to collect all my Coleco ADAM ramblings!

  19. No worries, if/when ever you get around to it I’ll be curious to see it!
  20. ? Heheheh, maybe. But you could possibly(?) use one of those cheap pre-recorded sound chips from a Hallmark card to make it more cost effective. Sound quality wouldn't have to be top-notch as its emulating 1983 speech synthesis. Anyway, it's not really important it was just a random idea. I'm much more interested in what the controller will look like!
  21. I love all of these ideas! WOPR inspired design would be sweet too. Another crazy idea: a digitized “Greetings Professor Falken” voice that plays when the game starts.
  22. Ok, happy to hear you're still working on it. Thanks for the quick reply!
