  1. At the train-station in Oslo, - inside there is this lit-up-glass wall/gate.

I thought ‘how cool if they’d made it 160 x 200 lit windows and shown graphics there.’ 😁

  2. Analogue Pocket on the way.

    (special thanks to an informant)

Tracking shows Taito/Capcom Evercades have arrived at my destination. Hope destionation is mail-office, not import-charge station.

      AWESOME!  On both accounts!

  3. So…

Have you bought an Atari 2600+ today?

Sounds like an interesting project.  Keep me updated.

@bent_pin Are ya thinking AV/S-video out or HDMI,  or is output any part of it?

    4. bent_pin

      bent_pin

Composite output and a composite to hdmi converter pack-in. Later I'm going to do a 7800/5200 one that does a lot more and that one will have composite/RGB/HDMI native.

  4. BlackFriday-stuff:a game thats been on my radar for a while: Aliens FireTeam Elite. A shooter that I’d like to see be integrated with Spotify-playlists, as I’d like to play it to Celldweller. $12 on XBox S/X.Totally worth that price… even with 70ies horror-suspense movie score music in the background.

  5. For the record…

Oh, the record, not the record!  I got it now. 🤣

  6. Saw John Wick (1) today with my bro. Surely not an easy watch for a Scrapyard Dog-fan!!!  Story: like Hamlet really, just with more action and less dialogue.

After seeing it I now hope to see Hamlet 2-4 coming to the cinemas, also starring Keanu Reeves.

    1. GoldLeader

      GoldLeader

Like Hamlet,  but with a 69 Mustang,  guns, and martial arts!

  7. Oslo has so little skyline-factor to it (compared to great cities).

Yet, I like to take some photos here and there. Even things not ultraspectacular can be atmospheric.

Found a little Sushi-bar close to the mainstreet, mostly take away and tiny place really, but good sushi for an ok money:

Try inverting the skyline. Take a picture on lower exposure, when the sun is behind the skyline subject. The ground and buildings will come out black and the sky will pop.

  8. You are playing Atari tonight,  aren’t  you !!?!

Yes you!  You go play your Atari, and don’t you come with excuses like ‘doing my homework’ or ‘at my job!!’

Don’t let me  ever  catch you again not playing your Atari !!!

As to doing the laundry and watching Ashoka.
Did I want hear about that?

Truly sorry for you having to go through that, - no-one wants such things to happen to them , but I’m here to listen and understand you know…

      … an officer and a gentleman … even(!) 😂😂

  9. IOS update actually impresses with new photoshop function!

    - - -

Apple Music do (actually!) put together playlists of interest to people like me (even though Spotify seems lightyears ahead as to user-playlist-sharing, and also Spotify-generated playlists seems to get things more right sort-of)

    - - -

Yes, yes, yes; since you all wonder: … I’ve played Atari today… real hardware + new cartware on old tv with new joypad, old mod.pad using a real, un-emulated self as player1 on all games.
Don’t care a dot what’s in-a-thing as long as it works the way its supposed to.

    - - -

Antstream: dreadful streaming this week - I think I’m number 2 or 3 on Scrapyard Dog global or Xbox - and now it suffered screen-tearing like straight out of a horror-movie… (I could have endured this when playing Space Gun, not Scrapyard Dog… for goodness sake). They seriously need some more servers… or just call themselves AntLimp…

    (ok, that was my Rant-stream)

    - - -

What will I eat tonight: Food

What am I listening to now: Metal

What random picture will I post tonigth?  - a random one

Which Movie did watch last (contains spoliers): Star Wars Episode 4 - A New Hope; the heroes resqued the princess and blew up the Death Star (muhaha - guess I ruined Star Wars for you now).

What was my reaction to seeing the last movie I saw?

Contemplating writing an open letter to George Lucas and plead, scream, whine, cry, threaten, bribe, flatter… anything - even direct, straightforward, serious communication -, that he’ll buy back the Star Wars Franchise and save the Universe, the Galaxy, from the crazy story-molesters at Disney.

And yes, many stolen glances into AA… taking notes…

      Cool!

Usually it's nice days around here,  but today it's been real windy and there was some very light rain earlier,  It's 70 degrees (21C) at 7pm...I can honestly tell Autumn is around the corner...

    3. Giles N

      Giles N

      @GoldLeader

Ok, 21C doesn’t sound all to bad.

But of course I’m not sure what you’re used to there…

But, sure, I can feel the autumn coming; I just hope it’ll be a nice one, since almost all of August literally rained away…

Perhaps I’ll dig out some Tolkien for the Autumn, who knows?

    4. GoldLeader

      GoldLeader

Well the high was 83F (28.3 Celsius)...When the wind picked up it just felt cooler,  like cooler days will be on the way pretty soon.  We'll probably have another week of mid 80s though...but now it gets cold when the sun goes down,  rather then staying warm for a little bit...I notice this every year as days get shorter and I  just wish Summer would stick around a while longer...This one flew by for me.

  10. After this extreme-weather over Europe creating some trouble particulary in Scandinavia and the Baltics,  I hope I can (finally) get to the Capital without having to swim.

… just to be sure to not miss my appointments…

    3. GoldLeader

      GoldLeader

^I saw that one in the theater!  (Maybe the first James Bond I ever saw?)...

    4. Giles N

      Giles N

      @GoldLeader

… you’re not a distant relative of Goldfinger are you…?

      - - -

Anyway, yeah that was back in ‘dem days when Bonds’ missions were straightforward …

Last I saw was the first or possibly second with Craig

I’m really unsure whether he felt like a new Connery…

…actually given Indy 5, I think Sean Connery could have been James Bond way longer than they kept him …

… could’ve had him as Bond; James Bond, - at least up to 2020…

  11. Played Star Wars & Empire Strikes Back Arcade(s) (antstream) and watched youtube videos showing the arcade-cabinets. I think these 80-ies vector-based games came out much better on old-type monitor-hardware. New type tv’s have too high resolution, so image becomes over-precise, hard and dark.

    3. Giles N

      Giles N

Yeah, and me-too - all 19 times I tried, and then I thought perhaps I’ll just have to go for Antstream for the time being, like ‘they win this round’.

But …  with the exceptions of the dangers of frying stuff, guess this ‘The XY kit’s price point is set at 350$.’ together with the limited potential for use + post/sending + import taxes etc are what would make an elsewhere cool retro-project not doable for me.

So, I just hope Antstream will get around to have much more user-options (and picture isn’t the only issue) that can set + stored for every game.

    4. GoldLeader

      GoldLeader

      Yeah,

      Too much $$$$

I just like playing games on PS1, Dreamcast, and PS2 (The Atari collections, etc.)  And of course,  though it needs fixed, my Asteroids cabinet or my Asteroids Deluxe cocktail which also needs fixed haha...

  12. Stiil mind-blown by AtariBlast for the 5200.

Have gotten a SD-card read/write unit for the PC.(Man, how lost I am to IOS, must relearn everything PC)

Hope I can get the AtariMax fully stacked with my library. Perhaps the 7800 DragonFly needs to be fed too.

  13. Sometimes I wish norwegian summers could just tend to stay a tiny bit closer to what’s usually associated with summerly… *sigh*

Don't you fancy more water under the bridge? And above it as well.

    2. Giles N

      Giles N

@carlsson and the kind of summers come around when everyone goes bathing and swimming all the time … from the front-doors of their houses… 😡

  14. Didn’t make it to the Capital today; extreme-rains cancelled trains. I hadn’t made a plan-b (b for buss) in the back of my head: way too short a time for those lines to get me to my appointment…IMG_6502.thumb.jpeg.e0f2985b3b81dfd4fe6e759ce75bed72.jpegIMG_6510.thumb.jpeg.6acfd5518df9d1a3031ebee594b870c0.jpegIMG_6503.thumb.jpeg.0067f1c52ed9ca84bc53cceaab517ed3.jpeg

    2. Giles N

      Giles N

@Havok69 I’m not sure whether diving would’ve gotten me any faster to my appointment…

Perhaps the train-company for this day could’ve provided something else than just cancelling everything and leave the rest to everyone-else… Life-speed-boats, Star-Trek-beaming… even organized bus-transport… using just common buses… but like organized so as to kinda transporting people from a-b within a reasonable time-frame…

      Gotta whine somewhere.

  15. Got The AtariMax Ultimate for my 5200 today, so yay! Got to play ATARIBLAST - and it’s 11/10 … at least!  It’s  F A N T A S T I C   ! ! !

If you have an 5200 and haven’t gotten ATARIBLAST you’re engaging in selfharm right now! Get it! At all costs: rob a bank, ask your mom for a new game, sell your kidneys (yes, both if necessary) on the organ-market,  raid a local Atari-retro-store, live on dry biscuits and water for a month or a year - whatever it takes! Go search out rare treasure-maps which have Xs showing places of burried AtariMax Ultimate-carts around the globe!  Mug an innocent-looking, mild-mannered Atari-retrogaming pal at an Atari-conference… just get it!  The very meaning of your entire gaming-life is at stake here!

Without ATARIBLAST, and owning a 5200 - you could just as well have chosen bicycling or letter-stamp collecting as your main hobby instead…!!!   Yes, - it’s that serious.

Well, seems like you now remember the Legendary Stardust Cowboy. Or perhaps he was on your radar already.
For me, I actually use it as something to cheer me up / having a laugh listening to ‘Paralyzed’.

I dunno if this whats called a guilty-pleasure-thing.

I mean - it sounds like someone trying seriously to sing over-the-top, ending up sounding like Will Ferrell doing a Bad-cop/Bad-cop … just music instead of movie.

      Totally hysterical 😅

Here is the YouTube… uhm… thing, guy… who introduced me to the audible delights of the Legendary Stardust Cowboys….The Shaggs (.. like … what?? was that … title)

Crazy fella, with some crazy takes on everything music and metal.

  16. Have an Atari pack I plan to sell - either in my own country or on eBay, possible to whomever has the greatest interest. I wonder about what value such a pack would be of.

    See list in Auction-section.

  19. So … Ants. Yes, some ants out there just need to learn marching in even pacing… like streaming, not break-dancing. Did I pay for Ant-Stream, Ant-Breakdance (knows it retro), or just AntLimp…? But hey, it was a lot of them - they just need to learn to move with like nice, flowing movements…

  20. Finally I can become a Hollywood Screenwriter !!! I’ll  even   write Star Wars Episodes X-XII, for just 12$ per movie!

Man, how can they, anyone refuse that…??!
    I asure them, it’s an offer they can’t refuse…!

  21. The Crew: MotorFest Beta on XBoX @ big bro.  Now.

  22. «In Japan, Space Gun was the second highest-grossing dedicated arcade game of 1991. It was also a hit in the United States, where weekly coin drop earnings averaged $247 per arcade unit during November and December 1990.»

Just had to say it 😄, as I just so totally loved playing Space Gun on holidays during summers at Arcade-corners when I was a kid…

    1. SlidellMan

      SlidellMan

Taito had a winner with that one, and I bet a redone port for the Amiga 1200+, Atari Falcon, and Jaguar would be Grade Amazing.

    3. GoldLeader

      GoldLeader

I've just been really busy with some stuff so give or take a few stand out moments,  it doesn't seem like I've had much time to enjoy the Summer...

  24. Been some good and warm Summer-weeks during June, some intersped sunny days during July - now its mostly rain and chilly, and probably will for next week. Arrggghh… where is my indian summer-stuff…?

    - - -

Except that, I cannot complain… too much… because I must, just must complain… about the wheather… it shalt not go uncomplain’d as long as there still lives a remainder of common norwegianess inside me… every drop counts… every rain-drop in the summer-month is eihher one too much (why do I live here? Shit - do I have to go SpaceX-travellin’ to Mars with Musk, just to bbq a piece of pork?) Or.. one drop to little… too dry! I cannot BBQ!! The final drop!
    - - -

Well, - so besides that^ - cannot really complain.

    Got some IOS-pixel-painter tools,

    Cheap.

    Ads all over the place.

Almost killed my drive to draw akward 8-bit graphics for no-particular project…

    How are you?

  25. Cat believes in climate change. Cat has panicked. Cat has encountered raindrops… after a dry period. Cat thought it was safe now. Cat wants owner to change The Climate.
