  1. Yeah, I hadn't been in an arcade or FEC for quite a few years and then I decided to go to a couple local ones with my oldest child and it just blew me away. I'd say it was probably about 15 to 20 years between visits for me. Man did stuff change. Since then, I have gone a few times and played some of the games in your post (Fast and Furious Arcade, Monopoly, Raving Rabbids and Halo-Firestorm Raven). They are fun but are definitely quarter munchers. I gave my daughter $10 on a card and said "Have fun", that only lasted about four minutes! Then I upped it to $20 and she was back in 10 minutes! Sheesh, before I was out of there I had given her about $80 to play with and spent another $20 on some terrible pizza and watered down soda. At least she got a couple of super balls out of the prize stand for her efforts...
  2. I use rubber cement, available at Wal-Mart, Staples, Office Max or any craft/hobby store.
  3. Thanks for the notification Albert. I don't generally download game files myself but I will keep this in mind if I decide to.
  4. Yeah, and the frame rate is better than Supercorss 3D too!
  5. I have a WD Blue 500 GB and it's been working for about 3 years now. I have heard good things about Samsung drives. If you're into keeping it all Atari all the time, they have an Atari branded Kingston drive on the Atari website for purchase. You pay a premium for it, but it's nice that they offer one now.
  6. I received a shipping confirmation as well. Excited to try this out.
  7. So now we have ignore, delete, and disregard. How can this get any better?!?!?! I know, we need some threads with other synonyms like discount, gloss over, overlook, pass over, and wink at!
  8. Well, seeing as the article was written in 2003 and the guy was 29 at the time, that puts him at 50 years of age now. I wonder if he frequents these forums. I also wonder what his game collection looks like now.
  9. Yes, it's too late to change the name. I agree that the name is not the best decision here, but we are stuck with it. The VCS 800 has been out for 3+ years and the name won't be changing. The decision for the name was made by the previous CEO and marketing department at Atari and was inherited by the current board. I consider all VCS owners lucky that the current CEO is investing as many resources as he is, in updating the firmware and the UX. I am personally thankful that he is.
  10. Unsubscribe? I personally like seeing the new merch in an email. I don't always go onto the Atari.com site so if something catches my eye, maybe I'll buy it. I wear a fair amount of gaming related t-shirts, and yes, I do also have a speaker hat (why, I'm not sure) so seeing the new stuff interests me. If you don't want to be notified, just unsubscribe, it's right there at the bottom of the email.
  11. Remember kids, when you necrobump, please use the correct meme in your post. I have supplied a few of them here for your review. Should you use one of these, you can send a donation to my game collection as a thank you.
  12. Oof. That is a very nice controller, but the price is a little steep for me right now. Perhaps in the future though...
  13. Bangin' sweet! I like this one. Where did you acquire it?
  14. That's awesome! I love the idea and I would buy one too. Make mine translucent green with the embedded glitter, packaged in a steelbox and I'm sooo on board.
  15. Recently purchased a game from Sir Guntz and the sale was very smooth. Tracking was provided, the item was very well packed and arrived in the condition described. Thank you @Sir Guntz I won't hesitate to purchase from you again!
  16. Sorry to hear. You should try contacting @davpa or Ashlee Scarcella on the VCS Discord server. They should get you sorted with a fix or a new one.
  17. Don't you have an Amico God to pray to or something? You only come in here to stir up shit, never offering any shred of credible assistance to anyone.
  18. Nah, they probably took the page down for maintenance or to change the description.
  19. Agreed. The VCS has been out for three years already and most people that wanted an SSD have already gotten one. I put a 500GB WD Blue in mine about a month after I got it. This is an accessory that should have come out simultaneously with the VCS. Although the USB thumb drive seems to sell like hotcakes and they can't seem to make them fast enough so...
  20. I did buy a repro BSG from ETSY a few years ago. It was advertised as such and was about $28. It came without a box but did have a box insert, manual, and cartridge, flocked in the aforementioned gray shell. It boots and plays great and that's all I wanted it to do. I wasn't about to spend $500+ on a real one. I collect stuff, but I'm frugal about it (says the guy that just bought an AES).
  21. Yeah, this is great, thanks Atari. I picked up Days of Doom. I have a good selection of games on my VCS but this is one I wanted and was just holding out on.
  22. I am in the same situation. I had placed two orders and only received one of them. I had assumed that they would have been grouped and shipped together, but with the amount of orders placed I realize this may have been false assumption on my part. I am sure Al is working on them as quickly as he can and will ship them as soon as they are ready. I think we also need to remember that Al is also an official Atari employee now and I'm sure he has many other responsibilities in addition to the AA store and website. I at least got Halo 2600 to tide me over for awhile.
  23. Ugh. I think there is a fix for this but you'll have to make contact with @davpa or Ashlee on the VCS Discord. They will also want you to fill out a support ticket at atari.com and log your concern. Good luck.
