I think we just found a potential new slogan for an Amico t-shirt!
BAN ME, TOMMY
(image - Amico logo?)
PROVE ME RIGHT!

Suggestion for @CurlyQ : Pat and Ian playing the tabletop Switch games, in a tiny table and with both heads touching to be able to see the screen. Insert Amico joke, such as "we told you Tommy, Switch does what Amican't!". Insert multiple details in the room such as dozens of actual board games on the shelfs.

Hey guys... From the creator of "Do you think Microsoft should have bought Sega?" and "Do you think Sony should still be releasing games for the PS1?" comes a Nintendo question:
- Do you think Nintendo should have keep releasing more and more motion controls titles for the Wii, with a Wii U just being an updated version and a pro controller available for hardcores, instead of just abandoning their own successful invention and their expansion to the non gamer market?

Here's my humble opinion on the last pages: less random videos, more Tommy's notes deciphering. 🤓

I hope these misconceptions don't affect casual and non gamers. I mean, I don't see those people seeing an Amico and thinking "hmmm, but that guy in that website said it was for retro gamers and I'm not a retro gamer, so...".

1 hour ago, Relicgamer said:I dont know I actually like the feel of the dreamcast controller. But agree on the 1 stick. My biggest complaint was the placement of the cord. If I had to choose between the DC controller vs n64 I would take the DC. Because I feel the N64 is the worst controller ever imho.
Interesting... It seems that this controller inspires all kinds of reactions in different people, so I have opened a poll to see what Atari Age thinks.

I love the Dreamcast as a console, but I find the controller quite uncomfortable and I don't know how they could release that 4 years after the original Playstation controller:
- Buttons that hurt your fingers
- Delicate d-pad
- Only one analog stick
- Uncomfortable triggers for anything other than accelerating or breaking
- Cable that comes out from the bottom
The Nintendo 64 controller, with all its flaws, feels much better to hold and even some hardcore Sega fans such as the youtuber Sega Lord X think the Dreamcast controller is not a good one, but I know it has a lot of fans. What do you think?

Correction: it's almost 2K miles west of South Africa.
By the way, here's an amazing article on how living on that island is. Spoilers: You need to plan your visit one year in advance and take a 6 day boat trip from Cape Town to get there.

The thing with the Dreamcast was its controller. I still can't believe they gave the green light to that in 1998. It was a clear step backwards from the Playstation and Saturn controllers from 1994 and even the controversial Nintendo 64 giant spaceship had much better buttons. Only one analog stick was not a very smart move either, but the main problems were the buttons and triggers.

Microsoft should have just bought Sega and keet the brand, sort of like Disney with Marvel. This would have benefited everyone:
- Microsoft would have gained importance in the Japanese market
- Sega would have had more money available to keep doing original games
- A console with Microsoft's power and Sega's games would have been a really hard contender for Sony

@jaybird3rd I agree is not a good idea to have several consecutive pages of that, but at the same time I think it's not a bad idea to try to debate this people in some cases. The Resetera guys seem to live in their own world, so perhaps the correct approach is to politely counter argument them in their own forum. In this case, I think it's worth mentioning for two reasons: 1) The surreal moderator comparison they made and 2) The lack of Amico fans/experts in that forum, which leads to lies being spread without control (with the help of the mod himself).
So yeah, I think it's not worth to spend hours on this or obsessing with it, but it's positive to mention it and possibly try to fight it with information, without getting personal.
So I wonder if anyone here knows how to create an account there or has one, in case someone cares to explain Tommy's plan and research in those hostile zones. I agree 4chan should be ignored, but Resetera has many potential fans and more of a serious reputation.

@Tommy Tallarico I have a couple of questions about the J Allard hiring:
- What do you think about the Zune and Kin products? J Allard was very involved in those and they were considered failures. I know it's kind of a peculiar question just after you just hired him, but perhaps you know some interesting story about those.
- What will exactly be J Allard functions within the team? Will he help with the games? The general vision? a potential future online mode?

@supahwally, Blarneo and I apologize to do the same you did a couple of weeks ago. We promise it will be the last time.
I think it's interesting to know these people's point of view. I think it's them who are obsessed with Tommy, accusing him of male chauvinism. I think we have the right to defend ourselves, considering they are clearly reading this thread (hi guys!). And I think it's becoming increasingly fun to read their excuses. 🤓
By the way, does anyone here have a Resetera account? I tried to create one some months ago but they won't admit Gmail... They only admit "personal email addresses" from independent email providers, or something like that.
@Blarneo I don't think they are exactly the same Gamergate guys. From what I could read in their (very informative) Coronavirus thread, many Resetera users are liberal. As I said, I think it's more of a case of people from both sides somehow finding political reasons to attack the console.

As someone that would be labelled as a dangerous communist in the USA, I also find difficult to understand that people are using politics to attack the Amico: too politically correct and NWO for some alt right bright minds, too traditional for some future Nobel-winning liberals. The "the girl is winning you" thing is an example of how to focus on stupid fights instead of saving your efforts for actual problems.

Meanwhile, at Resetera...
- The moderator says "oh no Allard, what are you doing?"
- The moderator calls the Amico "Tommy Tallarico's delusional vanity project"
- Another user congratulates the moderator and compares him with @jaybird3rd, who is supposedly "banning everyone who doesn't like the console"
- Another user says "family market? Minecraft already exists"
- Several users really upset because of the "cheap looking" location Tommy used for the Sidesweepers video and his "the girl is beating you" comment
Gotta love how some of them are closely watching this project clearly wishing for it to fail. It looks like excuses to hate the Amico are becoming harder and harder to find (see the "the girl is beating you" comment, something that EVERYONE has said in this kind of situations and DOESN'T IMPLY THAT THE PERSON SAYING IT THINKS GIRLS ARE INFERIOR because it's just a joke).
It's gotta be a long, hard road for these people.

Wow... By the looks of it, so many hardcore gamers have just learnt about the Amico thanks to Mr. Spencer. Check out the comments, and the tweet has 600 likes in 1 hour.
Talk about free promotion right there.

Speaking about Lunar Lander, a clone of it called Asteroid Lander it is included as a "game within a game" on The Dig.
