Hey Tommy, here's a humble suggestion for an Amico game: a dancing Vengaboys game, where you could enjoy hits such as We Like to Party, Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom!, Shalala lala or Up & Down. There would be special remixes of some songs: Up & Down would include a remix version with samples of Tommy's "Speed up, slow down" close to the chorus and Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom! a remix titled... .

If Tommy had promoted the Wii U and the Virtual Boy, both would have sold 100 millions. I can already picture him saying that the Wii U gamepad was "bringing back the huge controllers from the good times of the original Game Boy" and that the Virtual Boy visor had "so many cool things I just can't talk about right now".

Tommy, your patience answering each and every concern of new AtariAge users that decide to create an account here simply to say that they are disappointed with the Amico graphics is admirable. It looks like yesterday a new one appeared on the independent topic... Let's see how many days pass before another one joins the party. 🤓

I apologize in advance because I don't want to sound like a hater, but I'm very disappointed with the new video. Firstly, the person who appears on the video is a Tommy Tallarico, when we've seen other companies use a Shigeru Miyamoto for that. Shigeru Miyamoto created the Zelda and Mario games, by the way. This doesn't look good for Amico. Then the camera focuses on the couch. Not a very expensive couch, I've seen better. And what do we see? Tommy, as Sade said in a song, I'm "By Your Side", baby, but these are not the most attractive people in the world. Now check out the trailer for Super Nintendo World and compare with the young people there. Where are the handsome 20 year olds who play the Amico? Show us. This doesn't look good. And then we see the game. A very old game about missiles and war. Now check out the graphics and compare them to the ones in Halo, released in 2001. The Amico can't do explosions like that and can't even 3D. Are you selling the system to uneducated people with a two-dimensional mentality? Please Don't Get Me Wrong, I will definitely buy the Amico because I like to collects objects I dislike and because this also gives me a free pass to write 40 line posts about how much they miss the mark. I just want the best for you, Tommy. XOXO. -------- Now seriously, Missile Command looks great, Tommy. Thank you for giving these games a new life, many of us never played them as kids and now with up to 8 players they look really fun. This video really shows that the Amico is real and is coming soon. And, regardless of sales figures, it will be awesome to play.

Juice, you said that the trailer did "more damage than good" and that Intellivision Entertainment needed to "repair" the negative image projected. Somebody replied with the like-dislike ratio, proving that you were wrong. Considering that you were also proven wrong with the FE (you didn't think it was going to be that successful)... Will you ever get tired of being proven wrong? 😇 Oh and by the way, Tommy, I am with you and I have ordered 20 Founders Editions already but... Sorry and I don't want to sound like a hater but I am very disappointed with everything you have shown so far. I will continue to buy more and more Amicos because I am crazy like that, but you really must improve. *not_a_hater mode off 🙃

Offtopic: Since many video game experts are watching this topic, can anyone recommend good graphic adventures for Android? If possible: not violent, free to download, not too difficult, 1st person. It's for a family member. I tried asking on the Modern Gaming subforum but nobody answers. Something like Myst, but a bit easier.

Hey Swami, those games are really cool but I think... - 3D games on consoles started much earlier than Ridge Racer: Hard Drivin' was released in 1990. If we count computers, 3D games are there since the 70s, but they started to become popular with the Freescape engine in 1987. Perhaps you mean "3D games with textures"? - Sprite scaling is not 3D - The Aliens game doesn't have any 3D or 2.5D elements There are too many definitions of 2.5D, so I wouldn't bother. I've seen this term applied to the weird and original Duke Nukem 3D/Blood engine, I've also seen it applied to platform games with 2D controls and 3D graphics... This is why I prefer to use this later definition for games on the Amico.

That's interesting, because I find FIFA 98 is the most overrated soccer game I've ever played. Spanish magazines gave it 9/10 and I didn't understand it. Goal Storm 97 (the American version of Winning Eleven 97, known in Europe as International Supestar Soccer Pro), released a year before in Japan, blew that game out of the water, and ISS 98, released at the same time than FIFA 98, was even better. Even International Superstar Soccer/Jikkyō World Soccer (1994), for the Genesis/SNES, was a much more playable game than FIFA 98 and offered a great balance between passing/dribbling and attack/defence. I'm not saying FIFA 98 is the worst soccer game ever made: It's certainly better than the FIFA games before it (97 was abysmal) and it had a great 3D engine. But I didn't like it even as an arcade soccer game (ISS Deluxe/Pro were simulation, but by 1997 there were several great arcade soccer game in the arcades, such as Tecmo World Soccer '96, Goal! Goal! Goal!, Soccer Brawl or Versus Net Soccer). By the way, a few weeks ago I asked Tommy the same question specifying that he could only choose one single game and he answered Super Mario Bros. 🤓

Hey @LordRayken, I have a couple of questions for you and I'm sure I'm not the only one who wonders this. After reading your first and second message, we now know that you believe that: - An Android TV device does exactly the same as the Amico for only $30 - All games in a 15 Android TV game list, many of which are single player, offer more features than any game on the Amico - The only thing that differentiates the Amico is that it comes with 2 controllers out of the box - Tommy is not convincing anyone outside of this topic - You have to be uneducated to like the Amico - The games on the Amico look very old - The Amico must match the graphics of the retro style racing game Horizon Chase so you're not disappointed - Tommy must show graphics that are better than the Wii, because at this point they are much worse - You are not a hater and you are on Tommy's side So my questions would be: 1) Could you share with us what you actually like about the console? 2) Have you considered that perhaps this console is not for you? 😇

I'm looking for an easy graphic adventure for Android. One of my family members is currently addicted to a "pay to win" game (hidden object genre) and, while no money was spent, this person is becoming too stressed as developers pump up the difficulty to make players buy "boosts". I would prefer 1st person and not horror-themed. I already know: - The Secret of the Necromancer: This is more or less what I'm looking for, but it starts too soon with morse codes and passwords to open doors. It's free. - Nobodies: Looks good but perhaps too sinister for this person. Also, it costs 3$. - The Silent Age: Not bad, but I prefer less story and more puzzles. I also prefer 1st person view, it's faster. It's free.

This is an excellent idea for a game, if perhaps not for the Amico. I wish Google Maps had a "Random" function that placed you in an unknown street or road that could be anywhere in the world. There must be a way to play this "game" by yourself using the Google Maps API or some random URL generator programmed in Visual Basic. If not, you can always have a friend or family member choose a mysterious location for you. Once there, the only problem would be how to ignore Google's onscreen indication of your address. 🧐 I mean, think about it: Street View, random location, no text indications, try to find where the fork you are. It sounds fun, right? It's like an ultra advanced version of the early "3D" labyrinth games. 🙃

I have a couple of ideas for this: 1) There is a modern RPG where you can make friends with monsters instead of fighting them: Undertale. The battle system is also original. 2) The idea of helping instead if fighting is interesting, especially in these times. In the 80s, there was a really cool cartoon called The World of David the Gnome. The protagonist, David, is a doctor who cures injured animals in the forest. I don't think that license is too expensive and it has potential for a killer edutainment RPG.

Tommy, If the Amico sells dozens of millions and, in about 10 years, a website called AmicoLife created a news article about a new console titled "The Play Friend will have very difficult to be better than our beloved Amico", would you be worried? I mean, it looks scary, right? More suited for a title of an opinion article in a cult bulletin than an unbiased news headline.
