Hey, it's a doggy-dog world.
-
Sorry, but it's "taken as read".

If you make a physical version, you should have a piggy-back socket on the top of the catridge and a table of locations of sprites in popular games, then players can choose what their monsters will look like by plugging in the appropriate old cartridge. Like the Sonic and Knuckles Megadrive cart.

Atari 2600 Anygame Cart and Server/Development System
krisjohn replied to AtariKari's topic in Atari 2600
It looks like the console in the label of the cartridge in the label doesn't have a catridge leaning against it. My entry to your old competition goes at least two layers deeper than that. -
Jeez, are there any rules left?

The Official "Thrift finds" Thread

I woke up late I think there's a classic gaming collector using the trick of coming in early as a seller and getting to everything before the buyers can. The first telethon swap meet under cover should bring out a few more nervous people who don't like being rained on. Shame there isn't more space undercover -- they should move it to the Galleria, they've recently expanded the undercover parking quite substantially.. -

I agree, slim pickings this weekend. I think I passed on the SMS that Michael picked up. Ultimately I got no video game stuff, but I did pickup an interesting Roland MIDI rhythm generator and a "Steel Tec" (Meccano clone) Millennium Falcon in pretty good condition. -
I think it's just that most people don't know how to get rid of that black, white or whatever fringe 'round the edges of a transparent GIF. There's a bit of an art to it and you have to be willing to zoom in all the way. I usually work with a bright pink background if I'm doing a transparent image, so that any fringe is very obvious. Just so that no-one can complain too loudly about the software you need for this, I did my entry using Photoshop 3.0.5, not 7 or 8. Chances are it's been given away on a cover disc by now.

Well, the dimensions lead to more of a banner than a logo as such, but I've submitted my entry: That should keep me going until the next label compo.

PNG supports an alpha channel, but most browsers choke on it.

Anyone know a good forum for discussing GBA development, fringe hardware, stupid gameboy tricks, etc?

Here's a fishing and video games one. Still working on something specifically Atari.

You could win the auction then document cleaning the marks off it... Personally, I find it hard to be offended by a few doddles on what's probably a long dead Atari joystick. Especially since it's even been mildly dogged.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...item=3018066033 ATARI 2600 JOYSTICK FEATURING SCOTT KURTZ ART AND SIGNATURE THIS IS BEING SOLD BY THE ARTIST HIMSELF - AUTHENTIC. You are bidding on an authentic 1980's ATARI 2600 Joystick that has been totally devalued by the signature and artwork of cartoonist SCOTT KURTZ. The Joystick features my signature and artwork in SILVER SHARPIE on all four sides. Side one: Signature, date and Atari symbol. Side two: Cole saying "The 80's rock!" Side three: Francis saying "COMBAT!" Side four: Skull saying "ATARI." The Joystick is in fairly good condition, is a little dusty and the top of the stick appears to have been chewed on; possibly by a Troll or a basset hound (we're uncertain). The Joystick may or may not be operational. We can't tell seeing as it's not 1984 and we all have Xboxes now. Winning bidder will pay $4 shipping and handling (possibly more if you don't live in America). This would make a fine collectible for any Atari lover, had I not scribbled all over it.

Was it likely you I spotted? Big guy, moving very fast? I should have worn my AA T-Shirt. -

Yup Was that the pack with two Sonic games in blank-black cases? I decided I didn't want another two consoles. Meanwhile I spotted someone who'd bought at least two Nintendo Game and Watches (He was moving things around in a bag). I hope he got them from the dealer @ ~A$30 each -

Swap-meet find: Threshold by Tigervision. Boxed with instructions. Great condition. Haven't tested it yet though. A$2.50 -
Bah, the video isn't worth downloading. However, the cart's a nice thing, assuming it's not a prop. It should be auctioned off for charity or something.

It was the i=j kludge that caught me. Congrats Rhindle.

The same code can equal two letters, if the encoding of each letter depends on something that came before. Enigma did this. But I meant, it'll be interesting to see if your answer is right, or off by one letter. My (new) solution has one letter different to yours.

It'll be interesting to see if that's right, or off by one letter.

Then I've obviously missed something subtle. Either way, can I guess again?

Who has the most multiple copies of a single game?
krisjohn replied to Mind Master's topic in Atari 2600
That's pretty cool. It's nice to see things being recycled without being shredded first. -
Are you sure the last letter of the second last word and the first letter of the last word are both encoded correctly?
