Does anybody have the cable that goes from a 32x to genesis
krisjohn replied to IceCold's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Try this guy: http://gametz.com/?x=x&A=Games&attr=Sega%2...availitem=Cable (You may have to sign up to Gametz. I was for a while, as krisjohn, and I never got spammed by them or anything.) -
I've found my way over to lemon64 and I noticed that they only have 4 forums: General Chat, Help, Buy and Sell, Scene. I was thinking that to counteract the fact that everyone wants to post in the 2600 forum, AA should merge some of the less active forums with the more popular ones. We could have: Atari Consoles (including arcade and fixed-function) Atari Computers Atari General (International, publications, etc) General Gaming (no more "not classic" wars) Marketplace (inc eBay) Technical (all three tech forums) Site (all four site forums and Announcements) Off-topic Maybe then people won't be temped to post off topic just to get the most views. Thoughts?

Lots of Videogame History up for sale on eBay. Could be last
krisjohn replied to Joystick Jolter's topic in Atari 2600
You know, we have a Marketplace and an eBay forum for this sort of thing. -
I scored a box of 30 Asian version NES games for A$60 (~US$30) today. Of particular note are two "SuperVision" titles with exactly the same logo design as the SuperVision Atari bootleg I've got, except these ones say in at least three places that they're made in Japan, even though they're not Japanese Famicom carts. Now I just need an adapter to get my Aus NES to accept them. Or maybe a mod...

If you need Surround send me a PM. I'd offer Othello as well, but the cart isn't in the box

Congrats!

This funcoland place doesn't have a monopoly on stupid pricing. I've pointed out identical items in Cash Converters (a pawnbroker) to various surprised salescritters. Sometimes the difference is almost 30% on items of nearly identical quality and completeness. It just depends on who's doing the pricing that day.

Welcome. Sounds like you've got the right attitude to old stuff to fit right in. Post a list of your stuff -- who knows, you might have some Uber-rare game that'll fund heaps of new old stuff. Love the Buddy Jesus avatar BTW.

The forums just marked themeselves as read. I assume midnight just rolled around over there. Have fun with the judging -- I can't wait to see the entries all animated. I'll even turn on gif animations on one of my browsers just for AA.

I stand corrected.

I still don't have the size of your collection. And I've been searching the forums here and Google groups trying to find anywhere you've mentioned it. You've posted some interesting stuff to newsgroups in your time, but not much Spider-Man stuff -- maybe with a different address...

Nice. Thanks.

That rule is just for real people.

1. Amazing Fantasy #15 (The last issue, as it happened) 2. 5 3. Nicholas Hammond 4. The Green Goblin, Venom, Doctor Octopus, Carnage and Kingpin 5. Stan Lee and Jack Kirby 6. Motocross Racer 7. Uncle Ben Parker and Gwen Stacey 8. 10,000 9. 10 10. 1,200

I use an Atari 2600 Jnr because I don't have room for my 6-switch and the port on it scratches the bottom of the cart. I don't use my 7800 because the Cuttle Cart manuals says not to (and I've only got about three 7800 carts). I just missed out on getting an Atari adapter for my Coleco recently. If I'd started a particular swap-meet at the other end I would have beat some of the local competition to it.

It's all just a bit of light-hearted fun. I try to enter any little competition that doesn't start and end while I'm asleep over here in Australia. Anyway, when an answer's right an answer's right. Am I a Spier-Man comic fan? Not really. I used to watch the old TV show a bit. I've been trying to watch Spiderman Unlimted, or whatever the animated series is (but the artwork just isn't up to Batman of the Future). I saw the recent movie of course. I played the PC version of the game where you turn into a skeleton as you get hurt. Found a quick route through to the end and all. But I have actually played the game on offer on a real 2600. Have you?

Has this turned into simply "how many Spider-man comics does Stan own?"? I'm not positive that my Villans list is correct. If all I changed from Moycon's entry is the number of comics Stan owns and he's got 8/10 and I've got 9/10 then it stands to reason that I've guessed the right number of comics. But then there's that 4 vs 5 variants question... I'll change my 4. to: Venom, Carnage, Doctor Octapus, Green Goblin, Vulture

Those cables are rare-as. There was someone on gametz.com that had one but didn't actually know what it was. I don't like your chances. As for the Sega CD, "write" is obviously not the right word. Do you mean copy protection? No, you can simply burn a copy of a Mega CD and play it with no problems. However, there is region coding, so you'll need a CDX cart matching the version of your Mega CD to play stuff from different regions.

I was going to just post a reference like "As Moycon for 1-9...", but you could have edited your post I think there's only around 2,500 substantially different Spider-Man comics, so "bazillion" seems a little high. How about a Hojillion?
-
After confirming Moycon's answers for 1, 6 and 9... 1.) Amazing Fantasy #15 2.) 4 (5 with bar code variation) 3.) Nicholas Hammond 4.) Venom, Doctor Octopus, Green Goblin, King Pin, Carnage 5.) Stan Lee/ Jack Kirby 6.) Motocross racer 7.) Uncle Ben, Gwen Stacy 8.) 10,000 points 9.) 10 costumes 10.) 1,300

The first game I ever owned is possibly Thexder by Sierra. It would certainly be a PC game of that vintage, maybe an Accolade title. The first game I ever played would have been Adventure or Hunt the Wumpus on a DEC 10. From there I moved to Ladder on a CPM Kaypro II. This was back when a substantial percentage of games in the wild were not something you owned, so much as compiled. Not long after I would have gained exposure to Space Invaders on a friend's 2600.

As mentioned, physical fit problems. However, there is a "Master Mega Conveter", at least in the PAL world, that lets you play Master System carts (but not cards) on either Mega Drive. Neither the official Sega convertor, nor the 3rd party one will work through a 32X. This is particularly annoying if you want the metal shields in place. As such, for a little while I had both a MD1 (w/ power base) and a MD2 (w/ MegaCD, 32X) running, until I realised that I don't actually have any Master System games worth playing.

I paid A$50 + shipping for my boxed, complete, but secondhand, XEGS. I also paid A$50 for my recent 800XL +tape drive +disk drive +printer I found in a swap-meet. I'd say it's worth roughly US$25.

Selling My Entire Video Gaming Collection...
krisjohn replied to mrfossil's topic in Buy, Sell, and Trade
Quick trick - view the page source. Ebay preserves CRs in the source, it's just your browser that ignores them. The source is an easy read once you find the description.
