thoughts on the new sega genesis mini: Cheap plastic, non working "add ons" and just 40 games. We live in an age where over 1000 games can be stored on a flash drive, so why buy this system when i can use an everdrive cart? makes you wonder

Convenience, plug and play, no copying files and spending time figuring out why some roms work sand some don't. I mean, that's not an argument *against* other emulation solutions, but the convenience factor *is* a thing. Plug and play is more important than quantity for some folks. I really enjoy my Intellivision and CV flashback units for precisely that reason. YMMV of course, and I have no specific experience with the Genesis Mini.

With Nintendo's crusade to shut down all rom sites, my youtube channel (Speedruns for charity USA) is in danger of not being able to put out new content. I might be able to record gameplay with the Mini, but i prefer physical hardware. My specialty is games like The Terminator or Corpse killer, the roms of which i depend on play said games. We're middle class, were i rich, i would buy a top of the line camera, hook up the SNES and record all three Super Star Wars games, but alas, it is not to be. I admire channels like Longplays.com and LGR, but with Nintendo on the warpath (their games, their right, but other games are not their property), i fear for my channel's existence. I have no other way to bring in views.
but back to the point. If i was Desperate, i would buy the Mini. But i have 2 genesis consoles and the 32X add on. Just need the cables and i'm good. and a decent camera
