  1. So tommy when i mentioned an idea for a wrestling game. Especially with the official sequel to techno  games wrestlefest  retromania  wrestling

I forgot a great over the top arcade fighter that could be updated for amico

Wrestlemania the arcade game.  It was mortal kombat with some differences plus no blood as it was a family friendly arcade game.

For amico you can add tag team wrestling

Also 3 ir 4 way tornado tag match. And 4 corners tag match

    Ladder  match and cage

And royal rumble or even a user only 8 man battle royal

If you say get a wwe license o would utilize mostly past stars from the over the top character era of wwf from the 80s 90s  toss in a few modern names

Call it legends of wrestlemania the arcade game.

Yeah... the one thing that folks typically don't know about online multi-player is that it more than DOUBLES the budget of any game, DOUBLES the time it takes to create a game and costs a lot to maintain and to constantly hit and pay for servers.  Very difficult to achieve with the way our business model is set up.  If and when we do come out with online multi-player it would not be a $9.99 price point.  We would literally lose money almost immediately... just in the servers alone.

Can you offer more of an old school  experience for online.   Direct connect  via iPhone address  with we being  are our own servers or we set up dedicated servers.    As an option and in many ways it's a future proof option.

I'd love a  game that  has platforming ,puzzle solving , some twitch based arcade environments ,  shooting depends of in a western scenario.... cart racing....boxing  .  Football , golf , horse racing.  All in one comedic game.   Stooges would be great.   Can be 3 players but what if it goes beyond  .say you can have modes or stages where others can join in as cops or mob or whatnot a mad scientist and gorilla.:)    a d stooge selection can be every stooge member  with bonus of the last two stooges that were going to join curly hoes version of the stooges before he took I'll.

The reality is that elitist hardcore gamers can't think past their own opinions/likes/dislikes. They have no understanding that just because they personally don't like something that it means that everyone else on the planet is just like them. The hardcore elitist gamers are literally the EXACT OPPOSITE of the people who we will be targeting, attracting and marketing to.

So it doesn't surprise me one bit that they hate it so much.

It also shows a lack of maturity and understanding when people pass judgement on a video game system that they've never ever once played or held in their hand.

    :)

I'm a hard  gamer but I do play some casuals love classics and while casual  simple pick up and play pong , breakout  both can get pretty  intense and hardcore especially if they are 4 to 8 players

Plus the console can do beyond simple   "cell phone graphics"   sure we won't see 3d like gtalk but who cares.  The last co sole to do it's own thing was the dreamcast  . But if you guys only sell as much as that  ..with your budgets that would be huge. But I think intellivision will be bigger

    Yeah.  I agree.

Mark is a friend... but that was a disaster.  Almost 50% DISLIKES on the video already.  And what's up with the fake audience, bad green screen and the fact that it obvious it was pre-recorded.  No gameplay?  No hardware or controller peak?

Just goes to show how disassociated with average folks these hardware companies are.

I felt dirty and amused watching the video I only was able to handle a few min though.   I felt like HR was forcing me to watch videos on sexual harassment  presented by a bored Dana carvey  overacting like a sophisticated  Garf but But with out the enthusiasm.

Tommy you are killing it btw.

Thanks!!!  Haters continue to complain that these are a mobile games... yet each game we do is very stylized and proves that you don't need a super human graphics chip in order to entertain people.

    :)

I showed a pic to a girl who's a good friend of mine last night of the cornhole game  and told her about amico she was like I dont care how much I will buy just for that alone.  .   She actually just started getting into actually playing cornhole and loves it . She mentioned last might she was watching it on espn so I messaged her  .

She's def part of your market . But she's a semi hardcore gamer as well but grew up on genesis.

Them told her about a few other games and she's all in.

I just posted this over in the other thread, but thought folks here would be interested in knowing the process as well...

You're 100% correct!  $150 was before engineering started and before we spoke to retailers, which is why I gave a price range of $149 - 179 (because we were initially hoping to be somewhere in there).

Once we picked our chip and started settling on certain quality parts... it got to $199.  Then we starting speaking to retailers who all told us the same thing.... making it under $200 is going to scare a lot of folks away because they will associate it with being "cheap" or even worse... just a "retro" or "flashback" type of console.  Once we heard that, we started looking into ways we could upgrade some of the parts because we felt we sacrificed a few important things in order to keep it at $199.  The screen, the plastics/colors, batteries were just a few.  Once we saw how much better and more responsive the capacitive touch screens were... we knew we had to keep them.  At that point, was still hoping to be around $229 - $239.  But now, with the Coronavirus and scarcity of parts... it could get to $249 for the initial launch and until the manufacturing/supply chain stuff goes away (estimating Q1 or Q2 of 2021).  Meaning... base units would sell for $249 for the first 6 months or so and then come down by the spring of 2021 if everything stays on track.  If you think about... very typical for any video game system.  Year one it comes out at the biggest price... then by Christmas of the following year the first "sales" or "bundles" start to happen.

During all of this we have started thinking about adding more great games to the system to ensure value.  Right now it's looking like 6 and may even go to 7.  And these are all premium games!

The Wii was $249 when it came out 14 years ago... which was the equivalent to $317 back then.  So even at $249 we are still one of the least expensive premium video game machines to ever hit the market AND the only system in 30 years (since the Super Nintendo) that has come with 2 separate controllers with the base unit.  And considering how incredible and expensive the technology is for our controllers (higher than any of the other base controllers on the market to my knowledge) it's still and absolute helluva deal.

Of course... before deciding each step we did massive amounts of focus group testing all over the world.  And once families heard all of the options, held it in their hand and were told the price... most of them said they would pay $299 for the experience and that $229 - $249 would feel like an absolute bargin for what they were getting... and the quality.  You really need to see the system in person and hold the controllers in your hand to really experience what I'm talking about.

So there ya go... the history of the pricing and why/how.  :)

Still haven't figured out what it is yet.  Is going to depend on what happens with components over the next month.  The base units will NOT be over $249... THAT I can 100% promise!  I'm guessing by fall of 2021 the units would come down to somewhere between $199 - $229 depending.  So, for the folks who want to stay under the $200 range... they will be able to jump in a bit later and still really early in the life cycle.  Units are going to be super scarce this year and the beginning of 2021 anyway (whether we like it or not) so the more premium price doesn't seem out of character considering the situation everyone is in.  But if I can keep it in the $229 area... I will for sure.

Another thing to consider... even at $249 we'll STILL be at least HALF the price of the other 2 new consoles (if they even come out this year).  So value proposition is still strong (even though they aren't really our competition... they will be perceived as such by some).

What about say 8 games ...I remember the original plan was 7 then dropped to 5.  But 8 games and console supports up to 8 players :)  it keeps all numbers matching .  10/10/2020 that's 3 20s while 8.players and 8 games is 2 8s  :)

If they can get Disney IPs that should cover Marvel stuff. Minus possibly Spiderman depending on how games and stuff would be handled vs the movies.

Tommy already said warner bros are cool with intellivision. Here's hoping for a batman beyond game  or  batman the animated series. It justice league.  Or games with other DC comics characters like the question  which is one of my favorite. Or jonah  hex.  Could do a dc legends of tomorrow based game that could easily cross multiple genres.

Yeah, some weeks ago I already suggested a mature version of the console, something called Enemico or Darkmico where split screen games are also possible, a machine where the only commandments were "4 player local multiplayer is required for all games", "all games must be $10 or less" and "no games will have DLC". It was a joke and I know this was not possible, but if this existed I can see thousands of us ordering it just like the FE.

I think 2 consoles would just be too much and divide owners too much to mot be worth it for a small company to do . Or a large company.

Maybe you have a water gun and the other kids are covered in mud.  They shot mud at you and you clean them off with the water.  Missiles could be water balloons.

Im.sure theirs ways to do metal slub type game and work around to an e10 plus rating.

Kinda wish intellivision would create their own rating system subset to have something borderline teen but limited tomonly certain things to fit in their own e10 us like rating that's not quite teen.

Have you ever thought maybe you should just like realize it's time to move on and let it die? I don't see why the need to keep bringing it up. You could take it private too if there was a problem. 🤷‍♂️

    :D

I don't get all this Atari 7800 bashing. You don't need to hate the Atari 7800 to defend the NES. A debate about what the NES does should never mention the Atari 7800. I feel the need to downvote every single message who points out something negative about the Atari 7800 in a Q&A topic with Shigeru Miyamoto. 🤓

Back to the other offtopic, so nobody here has camped outside a shop on day one to buy a console, a game or other product? It's something I would never do, especially for a smartphone. 👨‍👩‍👦👨‍👩‍👧👨‍👨‍👦👨‍👨‍👧👩‍👩‍👦

I ordered my xbox online it actually arrived like 2 days before the store date which was awesome .  Dreamcast pre ordered just picked it up after school.

I know someone mentioned this to Tommy on one of the you tube shows, but it really was one of the best two players games on the SNES.  The subject matter was great, the music was awesome and it was just a blast to play

It was me lol.  It's one of my fav Lucas arts games.  Imagine this at 4 to 8 players and when you die you could be turned into a zombie or other horror character.   Could do team  vs co op .  Could even do so e fu. Takes on classic  team ca like a capture the flag during a zombie out break .  Or  two rival families  having to collect t survival supplies as a bonus multilayer  game type  outside of the main game story .
