I don’t know how big these games are but I am guessing around 1-2 GB like most of the Wii disk games. I am guessing if there is a physical copy and a download card, you cannot copy your physical disk to the consoles flash memory and then to an SD or USB storage device. So, would that mean games can go from download to SD/usb storage, but not SD/usb to console flash, then console flash to sd/ usb? I assume the expected 16GB console flash memory will fill up rather quickly if the games are indeed 1-2GB each.

16 GB internal storage will hold 25 to 50 games . So games won't be too big... n fmv video

Yeah!  I agree!  And what really blows me away is the quality they are getting out of the machines!!  Was blown away by the Castlevania Intellivision project screen shots.  Getting to look like NES style at this point.  Pretty darn cool!

And yeah... I've spent hundreds on these things... and gladfully so to held support the community.

Someone should do an Earthworm Jim remake for the original Intellivision.  I'll supply the MIDI files!   :)

Jim could open the game being shot out of a b-17 bomber

    Yeah!  I agree!!

I'm a HUGE supporter of the Home Brew community and will support them as much as possible.

I regard it as a huge honor that people care that much and have so much passion to do such things.

In a perfect world, once we are profitable, I'd love to start up some kind of Intellivision Home Brew fund for the original console.  That would be AMAZING!!  And would take the risk burden off the developer.

My understanding is that some of the budgets are anywhere from $10K - $20K.  So donating $100K to a fund could help to create 4 - 7 new Homebrews a year!  And then... we could put out all of the Homebrews as one "pack" on Amico and get some royalties to the Homebrewers as well!

    Just thinking out loud.

That would encourage more original homebrew vs ports so that could be cool

Especially if added features for the amico like expanded multiplayer

And if popular  enough maybe get the developer to work on a from the ground up version or sequel on the amico... could even be amico user voted .

About the Maple Town cartoons and strategy games for the Amico:

    - It's interesting how sometimes intro and outro music was different in each country in 80s cartoons. In Mapple Town, the Japanese original feels quite dull, the American version is much better, the Dutch version is weird, the Italian version is kind of sexy (and has a country feel) and the Spanish version is probably the best. If you're really, really bored, check out the Arabic intro of the sequel, New Maple Town Stories: Palm Town Chapter. 🎪

    - Take what I say with a grain of salt because I hate strategy games and I don't even plan to have children, but I don't think kids should be exposed to RPG or strategy games. Those games are very demanding when it comes to time invested and too often reward the hours spent instead of the actual ability. RetroAdvisoryBoard's idea for the license is a good one and his gameplay ideas very original, but I would make sure the experience is purely action oriented and satisfactory by itself and doesn't create an addiction and obsession by "leveling up" the shops/farms ad infinitum via time spent. 🧐

    - I used to watch Maple Town as a kid and I was shocked when I watched a few minutes a few years ago: apparently, the bad guy is an anthropomorphic wolf that is usually trying to kidnap the anthropomorphic children (little bears, bunnies and such). At one point, he even takes one of the kids to the forest and tie her to a tree. In episode 3, for example, he first sets up a bomb and then threatens to cut some other antrophomorpic animal in "little pieces" (I'm too lazy to search for the kidnapping episode now, but in the very first episode he is already trying to kill the little kids in the forest with his knife [16:15]). Japanese are really peculiar people. 🖖

I dunno friends andi loved strategy and rpg gaming as a kid for games we could play  together.

I am not sure what kind of things you'd have to do with your body parts to get a license for Bomberman, but *THAT* would be a great game to bring to the Amico.

Iwas able to get my non-gamer-girlfriend at the time to play and play along with several other people on my TurboGrafx. Later 8-player Saturn Bomberman got a workout in my house. And then back to the Dreamcast, 4 players is just a really fun game, pick up and play without BS.

The game is simple to teach others to play because it's like life: your ability to succeed is inversely proportional to your ability to f--k yourself.

    Couch co-op at it's finest.

*Actually I would love to see a guru like Óscar do a version of this for the classic Intellivision. :)

Saturn had 10 players.   Dreamcast was 4 player local but 16 online

I like more Atari VCS than Amico.

But if only I can upgrade Amico to Atari VCS with modern gamepads, ...

Wait! Why would I buy an Amico just to play Atari VCS when I only need to buy an Atari VCS?

Or using my laptop to play Atari VCS games?

In this case, I won't buy Amico and Atari VCS.

What atari vcs games?? They supposed lol to launch next month no games announced or shown.  Its  glorified steambox.

I'd go insane if there was a Zombies ate my Neighbor style game on the Amico or a spiritual successor or some sort (Or a direct seuqel, I can dream!)

I like the way you think. See tommy this is a game with a following :) give me 4 to 8 players  abs all is right with the world  I'm shocked no one has tried to revive it. Such a fun game.

A cool ip to pick up for an original game would be Nickelodeons Are you afraid of the dark. Could be a fun horror game based on the anthology  tv series  where each part of the game is a series of stages for a different scary story. That a group of kids are telling.one another by a campfire . Could be multie styles of play from.puzzle to action adventure ,some rpg elements  and platforming.

@Tommy Tallarico I'm a bit confused by the controller/cell phone either or situation. You have repeatedly built up the unique features of the Amico controller, thing no other controller/system has or can do, but you also say you can use a cellphone, with an app installed, to act as a controller. Am I to understand that using a phone with the app installed would be a 1 to 1 comparison to a standard Amico controller or would certain features not be available on the phone + app situation? Would the phone only be usable and/or optimal for certain games but not all?

Edit:Are you at all worried one of the big three might see our your hype and data for family friendly co-op and make a push to sell a similar product line? Switch/Playstation/Xbox Kids edition with hardware that doesn't allow games above a E 10+ rating to be played on the system? Follow up, if you are not worried could you tell us your thoughts on such a scenario playing out? Would the Amico be able to compete with a Switch/Playstation/Xbox Kids edition?

I dont see the big three creating additional hardware like that.

But on the controller tommy has said more simple games via the phone.  Others will be best to only use the amico controller.  Plus in many cases it's more ideal to use a controller anyways  like if you get lots of phone calls or texts interrupting gameplay.

    Talks for both are ongoing!

Well tommy I mentioned this one in the nlg interview you did on youtube recently.  And you said you never sued before.    Since you talking with folks behind Indiana Jones....lucus arts also has one major jem of the 16 bit era. Zombies ate my neighbors.    Also tommy you should play the original or snes or genesis.  Heres a great short review of the game.....

I think the earth worm jim team ir other oceans could handle reimagining  this classic.   The games box art it what cought my eye as a kid. Then i.ayed and fell in. Love. Although I'd ask if you guys go after this one..

Please make more than 55 levels ...the games too much fun...

I could see the map being placed on the controller.  Along with say some secrets for players in multiplayer.  And if you die you become a zombie and stay in the action.

Thanks I really appreciate that, I’ve not seen a lot of substantial posts on there but yet again, I’ve only checked it out a few times. I do get Atari, or AINO as you call it 😂 emails on their updates. At one time I was seriously interested in the project but ultimately didn’t back the it. I felt bad for backers when they could not even spell some of their IP correctly.

Still will buy the new controller when(if) it comes out.

Luckily  atari isn't making the controller so it will eventually come out.
