Not at all. I actually feel bad that Atari's name got taken over by people who don't care about the brand, and people who don't care about treating their customers with respect and understanding. We shouldn't call them Atari, we should call them "AINO" for "Atari in Name Only." It's sad that on the largest Atari fanbase website the main thread for the Atari VCS is about tacos.

    Who doesn't like tacos????

Sounds good.  Keep it respectful with us and we'll do that same.

    Thanks.

I'm all for original  homebrew getting some love , but I do have a question about those releases as well as original intellivision packs.... will they be subject to the 1 game every 10 to 14 days or eventually weekly rule....or will those since they will be very very niche be it's on category of releases.

I know you also mentioned  allowing users to create games and what not but that won't be til later 2021 prob.

But what about game modding.....not to the extent of pc modding....

But what if some or  all games got the mario maker treatment. ?

It would sort of be dlc.  But not paid and  user made....I'm sure  guidelines would need to be set and an approval process to be uploaded. to keep things  family friendly.

Could offer an option for offline sharing between friends as well for user created content .

I will admit that I am being lazy by not reading through all 256 pages but I am relatively new to the Amico. Has Tommy talked about redoing any of the sports games and if so will they have single and multiplayer? Also has he said anything about bringing Tri-Action?

    Thanks

Yes and all games will have single and multiplayer anywhere from 2 to 8 players couch co op

    Hi Tony,

I actually have 2 different friends from Wuhan and one of them is outside the city and his family in trapped there.  I've played Wuhan 4 times over the past 18 years of touring.  It's a horrible situation and my friends there are telling me that it is a LOT worse than the Chinese government is telling people.  They are telling me that hundreds of people are dying every day and the hospitals are over crowded and he told me the spookiest thing was that you can see people walking the streets looking like the Zombie Apocalypse.

But he also told me they are trying out a new vaccine on animals right now in hopes for a cure.

Our manufacturing is done in the northeastern part of China on the coastline.  Wuhan is right in the middle of China... so it's far away... although it could quickly spread and get out of hand if not contained quickly (which is why they've shut down Wuhan and no one can leave or go in, etc.

We're not sure if this will affect our production.  We probably won't know until March.  Will need to see how it effects everything.  Tons of places have been going out of business... especially food places.  It could end of having an impact on all electronics this year.  The thing that a lot of people may not know (I didn't until this whole process) is that a lot of electronics are not made anywhere except China!  So even if the machine was $1000 and I wanted to make it in Texas (for example)... I couldn't!  Most of the parts are only made in China... so you don't really have a choice.

    Crazy.

Hopfully intellivision  gets so big that the amico 2 or super amico or whatever it's called will be able to build every part internally...wouldn't that be amazing..... but it does suck certain.parts are only available  in one place.

A big deal between our companies is being worked out.  It will be very beneficial for me in the long run.  :)

Im.guessing they will have to make a game or 2 or 5 .  If so and if they are great dev's then that would be a big win.... I never heard of the game before outside of the stuff.posted here. I play many modern games ...so.i.prob just passed it over and not notice.

I don't think activeaction is a hater, I think he's just a bit immature to say "your console will fail just like the first Intellivision!" in that chat. He could have used other words.

The other user, Resvrgam, was not a hater either. He seemed quite interested in the machine.

However, their arguments seem a bit poor:

    1) You can't rely solely on focus testing because John Ford said that, if he had listened to people, he would have made faster horses instead of cars? So what is the alternative to that? And can we use that mentality after so many decades? Well, we can't, because Henry Ford never said that, it was a misquote from a 1999 book.

    2) The Intellivision was outsold by Atari 10 to 1 because people didn't like the controller? Again, I wonder where are the surveys that prove this. Of course, most of you know more about those console wars and hopefully can help clarify this: What was the main reason why Atari won by that huge margin?

I will continue with the interview, looking forward for that M-Rated debate.

I'd tend to think  atari having a 2+ year  head start being much cheaper was def in the ataris favor.  And mattelgetting out at the time  didnt help.   I'm sure if you switch the 2 release dates with same specs and design  intellivision would destroy atari at that point .

Will this system be getting a lot of remastered titles? I like the idea of Night Stalker being remastered. I used to love that game. I think it would be great to other classic IntelliVision titles remastered. Sadly I guess Demon Attack/Atlantis is out of the question?

How about the original games? Will we be able to play the original versions of Intellivision games? I'm guessing it will depend on licensing (no imagic games?)?

Demon attack and Atlantis are on the list  to be made .  Original intellivision  games tommy said 2021 as they dont want reviewers  reviewing those old  games  and prob ripping them apart especially silly so early.on in the launch period.  But the original games will be sold in packs of games for like $5 or less  like sports pack  action pack and so on.

The next game they are doing after Night Stalker is Tron!!  Still negotiating the license with Disney (which is why they started on Night Stalker first).  Also doing D&D!!!

In these particular levels the walls are "alive" and don't really affect gameplay.  But later in the game they do!  They will start to reach out and grab you if you get too close!!!

Organic meets Digital!  Very cool concept.

That is so awesome. Are those other 2 launch titles . And i assume  , the first from title will be tron deadly discs....unless slim Chance no tron deal and it's just deadly discs :)

  9. So tommy I have a question about the night stalker video.  Is the wall movement just being used as a visual effect or more involved in gameplay than what we see?  Like can they lower and a player or enemy can just wall on it which opens up a little more depth to the action

      Or no?

Also  the game looks crazy awesome.  Plus I dunno about anyone else but those visuals have me hyped for the eventual tron games on the amico.

  10. And to show how serious they are about being global  .tommy  said they will announce intellivision  China offices in Feb plus this week we will see skiing , night stalker and the dice (I'm guessing a board game)

Remember kids....more news is great news. Plus a full moon Mattel level in feb.

What's atari shown us?? They cant spell ataris own ip correcttly?.... intellivision does what atari don't

If you're thinking of getting a Woodgrain Amico try to get the FE one. The $50 dollar gift certificate alone makes it a better value over just the plain limited edition. Tommy dropped yesterday the limited edition Amico's would probably be around $279. The founders is $299. Regular Amico's would be around $229.

    Founders includes:
    Limited to 2600
    Early access to the console
    Numbered & signed Woodgrain Amico
Numbered & signed 3D running man lenticular poster
    $50 Gift Certificate/Metal Golden Ticket
    Founders Embroidered Patch
    Founders Writing Pen
    Earthworm Jim Soundtrack

Hopfully includes A downloadable soundtrack and not just cd....( I dont own a cd player outside of my ps4)

I didn't like what I heard about the physical media not being like boxes on a shelf.  Call me Mr. Boring but I like my boxes on a shelf.  Please don't let the games come in the form of dust collecting clutter like Amiibo.  I am NOT someone who likes collecting that sort of thing.  I like nice, neat, orderly boxes.

I'm thinking he means they will include different things like posters  and what not

Probably just jealous that we've shown more new (and awesome!) Atari gameplay then Atari themselves... and we're coming out a year after them.

Oh wait... 11 months after them...

hold on... 10 months after them...

    nope...  9 months after them...

still not out?  Okay... maybe 8 months after them (and counting down).

    :D

More like 6.5 mo ths if by slim chance they legit make the march 21st release date lol. They prob won't and will prob be at a motel room during e3 with blow and hookers trying to get people to come try out the newest prototype joystick.  But if they spend that kind of money will they have anything left for marketing and lmao game development.  Lol ?

Hey Tommy, I have an interesting question about the number of games available for the console.

Can you confirm that only 2 games will be released each month? If this is true, it means that only 24 will be released each year, so the Amico will only have around 100 games after 2 years, potentially reaching around 300 games even if it's a huge success and lasts for 10 years on the market.

This would put the Amico final catalogue closer to the N64 (around 350 games) and Sega Saturn (around 500) than the PS1, PS2 and other systems with more than 2,000 games. Is this correct or am I missing something?

He said 1 game every 7 to 10 days but eventually once a success every 5 to 7 days potentially teaching upwards to like 75 titles ayear. I think was said many pages back.

They actually don't own Mutant League and I'm friends with the folks who do.  Spoke to them last year about it.  A family friendly version would be kinda cool but may take a lot of the humor out of it.

It could work.  Dont think of it as say letsjust dumb down this version.  Insead take an 80s saturday morning cartoon approach  could be different yet awesome in other ways while still staying true to itself and humor.

And speaking of saturday morning cartoons  I hope you guys can get a ghostbusters game on the console.   Even cooler  would be a game based on  the real ghostbusters animated series.

It could be part shooter, but driving part platformer puzzle action adventure.  Easily a multi genre  game.

The amico controller can easily be the ghostbusters  pke meter.
