Yeah, the HH mascot is the coolest, it's one of the few expressive 2600 characters also. This has me totally geared up to make the movie version of Haunted House (I'm in film school), should be fun.

I jumped on the bus and downloaded Game Room along with Haunted House. I like it so far, and I hope more games and systems hit the store. Zx Spectrum, Atari 8-bit and C64 games would be great to have, but most of the companies that made the great games that defined those systems are now gone sadly. I played Haunted House at night in the dark with the B&W Tv Type for mood's sake. Sad I know.

Sega mentions Dreamcast games on PS3 (360?)
AtticGamer replied to cimerians's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I don't understand this statement. Couldn't you same the same thing in reverse? Most of the shovelware released for the Playstation if when put up against the Dreamcast classics would be unplayable. The big difference was the PS had an outrageous amount of bad games released for it so there's even more games to not give a crap about!! LOL (I wont even bring up the N63 since the only classics I can remember I could count on one hand) I was talking about the "classics", which are severely outdated in Dreamcast's case compared to other N64 and PS classics. These two have many good games made unplayable by today but I think Dreamcast has more of those games. Shenmue and Sonic Adventure come to mind as cases where graphics were more part of the impact at the time and that by now, at least I can't play those games even if I wanted to (which I did in Sonic's case). They should release the more timeless stuff like fighters and spaceship shooters (not that I like these games either). -

Not that I give a crap about Dreamcast games (most are unplayable today compared to other N64 and PlayStation classics) but meh, more games for PSN. I wonder why they skipped the Saturn. I bet Sega can build a competent emulator. -
Sega killed the Dreamcast, none else.

Sega 32X CD - Totally Wasted Opportunity
AtticGamer replied to Great Hierophant's topic in Classic Console Discussion
The 32X should have been inside the Mega CD all along. Or at least the Mega CD should have addressed the sprite size and limited color problem of the Mega Drive. -
Unlockable Content. Not DLC. Unlockable.
AtticGamer replied to MagitekAngel's topic in Modern Console Discussion
If only SF4 had everything unlocked... Unlockables in fighting games are a pain. -

Blood Omen and Silent Hill on PSN today
AtticGamer replied to cimerians's topic in Sony Playstation 3
Damn, why can't Sony release PSN cards in Europe? I hope that with PSP Go, they bring them over. Silent Hill and Resident Evil are on the list, I want them on the European store, unless I can use an american account with my EU PSP. -
When a game is moved by events and new challenges and takes 30 hours to finish it, replaying it is not so compelling. Zelda comes to mind.

Well, I think I'm finally done with Capcom
AtticGamer replied to 2600Lives's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Capcom is a bitch sometimes, the only games I play from them are the Resident Evil games and Street Fighter and even those have fallen into a decline in my opinion. RE5 is crap and SF4 is a very good balanced fighter with a severe problem of locked characters and Ryu clones. Konami is a bit better now but in the early days they managed to make a game with great controls and still mad difficult, whereas Capcom usually limits the control scheme to make the game harder. I think most of their bullshit developers went to Treasure anyway. I think this new trend of "Insane", "Impossible", "God", "Nightmare" difficulties should end, a game is meant to be fun. Easy, Normal and Hard are enough thank you, you can extend the life of the game via other game modes, though it takes a bit more work so that's probably why they don't do it. I mean, Doom 3's Nightmare mode is a prime example of developer shittiness and lack of imagination. -
PS3 slim for August 30th Best Buy Circular
AtticGamer replied to DaytonaUSA's topic in Modern Console Discussion
I doubt they will put PS3 compatibility on PS4 as well. Selling old games via online is more profitable. -
PS3 slim for August 30th Best Buy Circular
AtticGamer replied to DaytonaUSA's topic in Modern Console Discussion
It's not glossy. And the Spiderman font is gone. Awesome. I may buy a PS3 now. -
Not really lost me, but I'm not crazy for another 3D Zelda anymore. There is simply too much to do and the world is simply too big.
-
Yes, you can make a monolith with those things, specially with all the different series that have come out.

AAC > MP3. I buy CDs and convert them to 256 VBR AAC to play on my PSP or iPod. iTunes makes great AAC conversions. If they sold FLAC albums with all the artwork and booklet pages via online, I would go for it too. I hope that with time, FLAC becomes a standard feature in PMPs.

Thinking Man's Shooters for the 360?
AtticGamer replied to christianscott27's topic in Microsoft Xbox 360
Bioshock and Portal. -
Renegade (ZX Spectrum), incidentally, without losing a life. God that last level was hard. Target: Renegade (ZX Spectrum), twice so I actually beat the super-difficult second play.

Yesterday I was playing RE4 and got to the final boss but it wouldn't load the final area. The disc is fine and doesn't stutter in any other part. I lost hours of progress (granted it's my nth playthrough). I'm trying to go all the way to DD. It's so much easier, space-saving and secure for the material itself (I know about "What if the company hits the grave?" issue). What I care about is the game. I can download the manual, artwork and all that good stuff that I'll see once in my lifetime. Discs get easily scratched and old cartridges often have battery saves, both are not ideal for me. For handhelds, it's a must. Tiny cartridges that want to get lost or fragile and battery consuming discs are not suitable for portable consoles.
-
I still have to play Dementium but I have high hopes for this title.
-
The only problem I have with DD is that once the company goes bankrupt, the purchased games which have been deleted for extra space might be at risk. Once they figure out a way to let us make hard copies of the downloaded material, I'm all for it. Having a burner on a console which makes it possible to make a hard copy, say, every 12 months would be nice along with some sort of blocking for copying discs. Then give all the artwork necessary to make a decent cover, manual and cd label ourselves. Until then, I'll buy discs, unless I really can't get my hands on the game (older ones) and for cartridge games with battery saves.

anybody else play games on "easy" difficulty?
AtticGamer replied to xg4bx's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Default, then higher until it's cheap on me (Doom III). -
will wii games be collectibles in the future?
AtticGamer replied to xg4bx's topic in Modern Console Discussion
Every console and its library is a collectibe in my opinion, some better than others.
