  1. My last post on the topic cause i dont want to keep derailing the thread. Obviously the "target switch " that i speak about its not an explicit Intellivision policy, but when this system appeared it was fueled by nostalgia and classic Intellivision ips, promoted by gaming channels and outlets (specially retro gaming ones -hence why is so widely discussed here-). Then of a sudden T.T. starts stating that the primary audience for his console are non gamers. He has even clearly stated that his system is not for gamers. I understand the need to distance themselves from the recently unsucessful retro consoles but still seems like a weird approach to take, specially when Intellivision nostalgics have been the people who spend most money on the system so far.
  2. I dont have a doubt that the Amico exists and its gonna deliver. I believe the main concerns are: what its going to deliver? When? And if the console will have a place in the current gaming ecosystem. I was interested in the Amico at first, but after the switch of target audience to christian families, im quite skeptical.
  3. In my opinion their initial criticisms of the system were fair, but after T.T and the Amico bunch came after them everything went downhill. Now they are certainly biased but T.T has left a considerable portion of the gaming community alienated with the way he responds to critics and how he unnecesarily bashed Nintendo.
  4. My top five: Mario Bros Joust Wizard of word Space Invaders Dark Chambers
  5. The woodgrain one looks like some kind of kitchen appliance, like a Foreman grill or something. Back on topic, could this be true? Is "atari" finally delivering to the most loyal of their sycophants? Weird if true
  6. Wtf? Comicsgate is leaking into Atari Age!
  7. Would you be able to provide a direct download link for the free vol. 1? Thanks in advance
  8. I was refering to the term "pixelated sound" and the yell sounding "too 80s" (for a game released in 1982).
  9. Read this statements again and thell me it makes sense.
  10. A job as amazing as usual Mr. Heckendorn. I specially love the case, its a very nice design.
  11. I find oink to be an easy and fun game for kids. Maybe a little repetitive, but nice graphics though.
  12. I hope you come back. We need more retro game reviewers . Also you need to make a part 2 of cat games with games like alleycat and mousetrap among others.
  13. Spiderman is more straight forward. Superman is a really weird game.
  14. Thank you for your kind responses! Good to know that the supply wont kill my 2600!
  15. Hello fellow forum members! I have a 2600 vader with the original co16353 power supply. This supply supposedly outputs 9v 500 ma, but testing with a multimeter displays 14.8v !!!! The console works fine and doesnt get hot or anything weird, So is the high voltage gonna kill the system? Should i get a truly 9v power supply??? Thanks for reading and your kind responses.
  16. Turns out that those are the emission frequencies for the crystals 49.830 MHz for the right and 49.890 for the left controller.
  17. The crystals are labeled 49830 for the right controller and 49890 for the left. Are those the emission frequencies??? Can the crystals be tested with a multimeter?
  18. Hello and thanks for your kind response. I tried the switching order that you suggest before with no results. Also i have tested the battery conector on both controllers, and power gets to the pcb and also to the switch wich does turn on and off the power. From there power goes to a capacitor that doesnt seem to be blown and other electronic components that i dont have the means to test.
  19. Hello an update for whom might concern. After some investigation i found out that you can test the radio controller emission with an am radio at the lowest frequency (540 MHz). So i put batteries on the controllers and pushed the button and wiggled the joystick. Absolute no signal on the radio. We can tell that the controllers are toast. Next i found out that the wireless joysticks work on the 27 MHz frequency, the same frequency used by rc cars. So i plugged the receiver to the atari and popped in the ol yars revenge. Pushing directions on the rc car controller did nothing for the player one joystick but surprisingly it inputs signal on the second player joystick. Wiggling the rc car controller kinda moves the Yar and shoots a projectile. So in conclusion seems that only the player 2 joystick works on 27 MHz. Also seems like the receiver unit is working. But now i dont know what to do with the joysticks, they seem to be ok, but for now i dont have the means ( or knowledge) to test the electronic components individual. The only thing i was able to test was the battery plug and the switch ( with a led light). Does anybody know if the joysticks are paired to a specific receiver and this are somehow mismatched? Is there any way to test if pressing stuff on the joystick does anything? Thanks for your responses.
  20. Hello and thanks for your kind response. Do you know what frequency do i have to tune on the radio to test the controllers? Batteries are fully charged, ive tested them already. Also about the power supply, its the original atari 9v 500ma dc adapter, and it powers the console perfectly, so i assume its working fine.
  21. Greetings fellow forum members. I need your help and expertise in solving a problem. Recently i bought a 2600 vader console. Its in great shape and works perfectly. It came bundled with a pair of wireless cx-42 controllers, also in great shape, but they dont seem to work at all. The console powers with the receiver unit plugged, but theres no input from the controllers. I tested them with yars revenge and the yar just keeps going up and down while the unit is plugged. If i disconnect the controller cable the yar stops moving. Also tried with missile command and pole position and nothing happens. Turning the controllers on and off or pressing anything ,doesnt seem to affect the on screen action. I opened the receiver and the controllers and they seem to be fine. Nothing broken, burned or blown. Is there any other way to test if the receiver and the controllers are working? I could get a refund for the controllers, but i really want to keep them, they look so cool and i really love to see them working. Thanks in advance for reading!
