Alright, I started from scratch. I'll stick with this town. Name: Gyro Town: Ogonek Code: 4252-6282-8940 (Pears growing around here.)
-
I just learned there's already a (very interesting) villager named Pascal, so clearly I'll have to create a new character. My code is dead for now. I wish Nintendo had created some neutral towns for people. The code exchange is a bit cumbersome, but the tradeoff is probably worth it. (No roving gangs of pre-teens in black shirts chopping down the world's orchards.)

Name: Pascal Town: Ogonek Code: [deleted - see followup posts] Villagers so far: Wolfgang, Walker, Kody, Daisy, Monique I never played the Gamecube version, but if it was anything like this game I would have been hooked on that, too. I think it's great. There goes my GPA....

107,980 I don't think I've ever played this one before (thankfully I have a Cuttle Cart 1), but it's neat. The graphic for extra lives reminds me of the soldiers for hire in Dragonstomper.

I tested the last version on my Supercharger and didn't notice the graphic glitches between levels (I played up to Level 4). I used makewav to convert the bin. No problems here!

I think I agree with that assessment. Well, I managed to score 5,300 by not moving forward at all. I just stayed by the trees at the start of the game and picked off as many enemy soldiers as I could.

3,000 I have no skill for this one, and it's pissing me off!

Masterfully done! I wish I had some more time for this game. I love it. I was really hoping to see if the difficulty resets after the series of boards with 3 enemies, but I didn't survive quite that long.

64,429 The rock-throwing Pitfall Harry eventually zips around too fast for me. His pitching arm gets a lot stronger, too.

56,652 (The 72,275 score was from difficulty B, unfortunately.)

I'd like one of those records someday. I don't think I can roll this one unless the difficulty resets. Maybe the 5th ghost can! When the beasties come out in groups of three it all gets quite difficult. 48,206

31,105 I can't discern a gameplay difference between the two versions, but I prefer the Starpath colors. I've always enjoyed this game.

3075 Now to see if beer will increase the force... (I have my doubts).

Will this strategy work on the smart bombs level? I haven't played the game in a few years, so I'm not sure. I won't be able to play until Saturday, unfortunately, so I have to go on theory. I'd start by wounding the rearmost walker since that apparently slows it down and no walker behind it can pass it. Then I'd take out the first few, and repeat the process. I really don't know if this is practical or not, but it makes sense after reading the manual.

53,510 Some of the cobras seem to give you the "death shot" opportunity more frequently (the 5th cobra, for example). EDIT: Oops, I meant the 6th cobra. I don't even think it's possible to get the 10K bonus until the 6th cobra. I never have, anyway. Don't leave that level without it, though! You should have around 9000 points by then. You can kill off two Joes on the 6th cobra wave in an effort to bunch them together and make it easier for you on the later levels. At 10K you'll get another Joe, and killing the 6th cobra when you hear those three tones will give you a bonus 10K - 2 reserves within a minute.

I just saw this, too. Guess that easter egg guide needs an update. (The 16th cobra wiped me out almost instantly.)

This is quite an interesting game. I think the 3-player mode would be a lot of fun - I'd want to be the giant cobra, of course. Anyway, this one has just been gathering dust in my game chest. It still has a Goodwill sticker on it for 29 cents. Thanks for rescuing it from obscurity. I've been hovering around 20,000 - nothing official to report yet.
