  1. I have a Sears Heavy Sixer that does power but produces dark snow. I've traced power from the power port (9v) through the switch to the voltage regulator. Input to the voltage regulator is just over 9v, which is enough. However, the output at the voltage regulator is consistent at 4.06V and I wonder if this is enough to power the rest of the system. I do have an extra, and can swap it out but wanted the group's thoughts before doing that. After that I will measure power to the (A201 - hex buffer??) per the Field Service Manual. I have not swapped motherboards yet to rule out upper vs lower board...I guess I should do that too. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks.
  2. I've been lucky thus far but the skyrocketing transaction fees and the shipping costs have taken its toll. I'm getting to be afraid to sell anything. At least here you have an audience that is more about relationships than screwing each other. Good luck on your ventures selling elsewhere. Ill be following you.
  3. Corrosion is a good first guess. In the port, Spray IPA and clean with a toothbrush. If that doesn’t work. You can spray IPA and GENTLY scrub each pin with a nail file for a couple of seconds and then respray with IPA to clean off residue. If nail file is too harsh for your tastes then use some 1000 grit + sandpaper. The pins do get corroded and a little scrubbing with grit will not hurt them. if indeed it is the port I’ll echo these are generally easy to replace per Crossbow above
  4. Atari Heavy Sixer #60984M I picked this up almost two years ago locally and just tonight got around to replacing the game select switch and then giving it a detailed clean. Harmony cart FTW !
  5. Good starter lot of 2600 Activision carts. 12 carts for 30 incl SH https://www.ebay.com/itm/165436513645
  6. SOLD THANKS! I have a similar lot with similar carts (not all the same) for same price.

  9. Thread nearly four years old and it helped be sort this problem out. THANKS!
  10. Agreed on original post. I wonder if the hesitancy or lack of development has been that the 2600 had 3 major case redesigns and mobo configurations. I believe with the Ultimate 64 board (commodore 64 board), it would work in almost all existing cases. If you were to design a new 2600 board with the ability to drop in the big chips, you’d have to do three different designs. Interested and following topic.

  12. Update - I took Crossbow's advice and cut the 75 ohm resistor. It did improve the signal on my TV enough that I was able to reduce the brightness to factory setting and the picture is still acceptable. An improvement!
  13. Thanks so much. I'll do some investigation
  14. Hi- I have a light sixer that I modded RCA composite from the lesser priced mods on Ebay. The light sixer has also had a recap kit. I'm pretty excited with the composite result as my screen is very sharp, rock solid stable, and a drastic improvement over the old RF. However, the colors are a bit dull and could use more contrast. So much so that I have to increase my TVs brightness and contrast to get a good picture. Its a minor annoyance, but I'm at the point where I want to tinker with this. I've seen threads discussing bypassing certain resistors to get more juice to the video output, but I could be talking poppycock here. Can somebody provide some input or a general discussion or links to other threads on where to look to increase contrast/video output from the unit?
  15. Thanks for the replies, and I have to change my settings as i was never notified of the replies! Lol
  16. Thx all for the comments. $2 average is the goal. I have many games that are worth 10+. But your points are well taken. Perhaps sell the higher worth ones individually and put the rest into lots. Any tips for the lots? I thought about having separate lots for lettered carts vs pictured cards (mostly Atari commons).
  17. I’m divesting my cart collection and plan to do it primarily over EBay, unless somebody can suggest a better idea (?) Mostly if not all commons. Very few collectibles/rares. Timeline - Im open to divest slowly over time and would like to net $2 avg per common cart. Open to all thoughts, suggestions and ideas. Thanks
  18. Yeah, this is impressive. Check off another arcade game redone right.
  19. Has anybody hacked this rom to just have continuous loop of the color/logo? Or has anybody seem a rom where its just this ? I'd like it for a streaming background.
  20. Mail call !
    - 2600-adapter
    - drop in S-video/composite/pause mod for my light sixer
    - EL wire for the light sixer
Project photos and videos to follow soon!

  21. Done! Ordered a Peril T. Good luck and looking fwd to the final release.
  22. Playing this WIP religiously. Shaking my fist at this wonderfully annoying fun game! Looking fwd to final release. Do you have a donate site? I've played enough that I feel guilty and would like to chip in. Thanks.
  23. Thanks. I just got the same parts and had to guess what was what and for. This is a big help. Good luck.
  24. Hi - I have a light sixer that needs rehab. See the photo. This is an intermittent video problem. So far this glitch only occurs on Atari Age's Test Cart (awesome btw) and Realsports Tennis. All other games appear normal. Ideas of whats causing this? I can start with the capacitors and the voltage regulator, unless you think going straight to the chip swap is needed. Any thoughts appreciated. Thanks!
