  1. I DID have my Atari 2600 hooked to an older TV, but it didn't work. So I switched back to a more modern TV with a cable connection. The great thing is I work for a waste management municipality, so TV's come in here all the time for recycling. I can have my pick of the crop at any time, and most of them work perfectly. -Steve
  2. Bump for the day. I will now trade or sell. If you're interested, I'd prefer a postal money order or concealed cash at your own risk. I'll ship it with delivery confirmation. If you have GB games, PM me with those, too. I can play those in my Gba. PM me with what you have to trade. -Steve
  3. Darn tempting, but alas, I must pass for now. Bump for an awesome game system! Steve
  4. Wow, yeah! Totally awesome. I love stepping into these posts to see what creative genius modded next, and I see that I wasn't disappointed yet again! GREAT job! Priceless comes to mind for a price.. -Steve
  5. Just got this game from Best Buy last week, and I'm finding the slow down (for my PC, anyway) is unbearable and unplayable. I'm working on an older system but something's amiss. The more townsfolk you have, the worse it gets. The game's only worth about $20.00, so..a trade might be in order for something you'd like to part with. Looking for: Pokemon: Leafgreen (cart only)-Gba Final Fantasy Tactics (cart only)-Gba Castlevania (cart only)-Gba *any Castlevania game* A Super Mario Bros. games for the Gameboy Advance (cart only) Atlantis (complete)-Atari 2600 Vanguard (complete)-Atari 2600 Centipede (complete)-Atari 2600 Jr. Pac-Man (complete)-Atari 2600 If you have anything above, send me a PM. Perhaps would sell for half the price including shipping ($10.00), but I'd really like a trade instead. Thanks for looking! -Steve
  6. Typical...but to really appreciate Atari, you need to have an IMAGINATION!! Since games "back then" were "graphically challenged", you needed to support the game with a good imagination. It makes the games that much more appealing when you visualize grander things in your head. That's the problem today...the games are SOOO lifelike that you don't need to use your brain for anything regarding the game....and that includes strategy! But seriously, though...I have a few "modern" games for my PC (like 2005/2006 modern) and they have the flashy graphics. They wow me, to be sure, but it's fluff stuff. Atari games are simple to play, easy to pick up, and easy to put away again since you normally won't spend hours on them (I said normally, some of your around here DO spend hours on them!). Great for a quick game before work/school, before dinner, or right before bedtime. -Steve
  7. Direct RF works for me, especially since I have a separate, smaller television JUST for my 2600. It deserves it's own television, after all. Since the cable is hooked up to a separate TV, no issues for me, and the picture looks much better. Steve
  8. That makes sense, I guess I won't open it. Yes I have many, many opened systems, maybe 20 units in all. I just wanted to see a system exactly like i saw it back in the day when I opned it. I guess I won't do it because if I do it there is no turning back. I also have a sealed sears video arcade 2600 as well. This is a wise decission! Iwan, Iwan, Iwan.... I still don't regret opening my sealed Yar's Revenge!! -Steve
  9. Hmm, personally, I've always preferred the 6-switch over the 4-switch. I love the woodgrain "fake" finish, and just over all it's more aesthetically pleasing to my eye. However, on the side of the 4-switch, I loved the Vader as it was nicknamed "Vader", being a Star Wars fan, the unit appealed to me. For switch placement, the 6 beats the 4 in my eyes. I've never owned a Junior model, so I can't comment on that one (although I DO like the color stripe on it from the pictures I've seen).
  10. To elaborate a little bit more...... I don't remember ever having a problem with any Activision cart I've owned, for any 2600 system I've owned (from a 4-switch woody to a 6-switch light). This goes right back to the late 70's to now. The current Pitfall carts I have (both loose and boxed) seem to work just fine. I've probably just had really good luck with it. -Steve
  11. No wonder you had a fit when I tore open my NIB sealed Yar's Revenge!! -Steve
  12. This is a good version of WoW for the 2600. I need to find another copy of this.. Steve
  13. Simply amazing. I never even thought that Solaris and Star Raiders were the same picture! Congrat's on this find! Steve
  14. First Picture and my second pic: 2nd pic Great idea to use photobucket. Thanks! Sorry the pictures are grainy..got a quickcam and it's not the best quality for shots. Perhaps one day I'll swipe my wife's digital camera.. -Steve
  15. I personally never have any problems with Activision carts. -Steve
  16. I might collect it then pin it up on my wall downstairs in my gaming room, but I'm not sure I'd wear it..good price, though. Can't really beat that. Steve
  17. Just purchased three boxed Atari 2600 games from atarinut76, and I have to say great seller! Very communicative, polite, and quick shipper. Even sends pictures of your bought merchandise. I recommend atarinut76 to all on here for buying. Thanks, atarinut76!! -Steve
  18. Very nice, and great score. Boxed games in particular are a wonderful find. Kid's these days. I mean, Atari 2600 games require you to use your imagination to fully enjoy them. Guess with all the fancy-schmancy graphics, kids don't really need to use their imaginations to explore vivid worlds on their PC/TV screens. Don't get me wrong, as I enjoy some more modern games (like Titan Quest and Immortal Throne..my favorite PC games at the moment), but for pure gaming bliss, nothing beats Atari.. Steve
  19. Ooo, very nice!! I'm GLAD I don't have a spare room..well, actually, yes I do. My "man cave" downstairs in my nice, cool, basement houses all my Star Trek stuff, a bunk bed for those moments when I'm in the dog house , and my Atari 2600 collection. I'd show you a picture, but I can't figure out how to do that here...wish I had a "browse" feature to link the picture to..sigh. Steve
  20. Sorry, Stan...thought you were going to send me a PM with the picture, so I neglected to check back here. The ones I'd be interested in are the three older Atari catalogs. I have the Activision one, and the red Atari one. PM me with a price and all that. Steve
  21. Ooo, yeah, I'd like to see a picture of that! Berzerk's one of my favorite games. You not only grow up, but out as well. Oh..and there's no target within 100 miles of me. Sad for me. Sigh...
  22. How fast does the game get at the level you ended at, Trinity? I would imagine at that point targeting would be next to impossible. -Steve
  23. I seriously thought about adding Defender to the list, but the box art is pretty darn good. Sorry...I'm drawing a blank otherwise. -Steve
  24. I don't remember owning Berzerk either when I was younger!! I think I just had the basic lineup, but didn't include Berzerk. Funny, I played it alot in the arcade, but didn't think to get it for my VCS at home. Well, now I have a complete copy, and it's not going anywhere. -Steve
