Thanks for the information! I was curious about those..

I'll could trade you this one for any two loose carts that I need (see link in my signature).
Box is fair condition, game and manual are both good.
Ah nerts. I probably didn't have what you wanted, anyway.
-Steve
Edit: Yep..didn't have anything you wanted. I'm a tiny collector at the moment, so I have squat for games right now.
-
Oh, in that case...
Bid placed.
Thanks for the heads up. Of course if I was paying attention initially, I would have seen the AA symbol..sigh.

Meh.
I'd rather get a copy from one of you here than go onto an auction site. Not that Game Gavel is ANYTHING like Ebay, I just prefer to do my business *here* with all of you.
Of course if no one has a CIB (not sealed...I don't mind copies that aren't sealed), then I might consider it. It's more laid back here, and this is where I like to do my Atari 2600 business. Thanks for the heads up, though..

I have a silver one, and a can of black spray paint.

Looking for an Atari version of Space Invaders complete in the box with instructions for my "growing" boxed collection. PM me if you have a copy, and if you'll take concealed cash or prefer a USPS money order.
Thank you! And my growing collection thanks you!

Just "bought" a copy of Phoenix (copyright 1982) for my Atari 2600. I had a boxed copy, but it was from 1988, and way too tight for my light sixer. He came up with the solution right away. Highly recommend Phaxda as an excellent seller and communicator. Thumbs waaaay up!

Well, if you know where Dartmouth College is, we are about 14 miles from that. Londonderry is down past Manchester, near the border of the state. We are near the border between Vermont and New Hampshire, in the center of the state, near the Connecticut River. Smack dab in the middle, actually, but near the left-hand side.
Even though I've lived here all my life, I still get surprised by where locations are. Some I STILL haven't heard of. Mostly my "little world" is centralized...

$50 for CIB 5200 is a no brainer in my books plus I'm sure your wife will fine something along the way, they always do!!

Those were my thoughts on this. My wife is a Craig's list fanatic, so I thought between now and the weekend, she would find something else along the route to purchase. It's a nice drive, too...but if we can't coordinate I can always go down by myself on Friday to get it.
The gentleman selling the system says that the "controllers and everything else work fine", so MAYBE he had the controllers rebuilt. I have yet to find a perfectly working 5200 controller that hasn't had to be refurbished in some fashion..
-
Well, I'm itching for it, that's for sure. I asked him if "everything works", including the controllers. I am very familiar with the 5200 controller break downs...not that I couldn't send them to someone here and pay them to install the correct gold contacts.
Anyone else? I'm also trying to convince my wife to go on this trip with me, and I encouraged her to see if anything else in Londonderry SHE might want..

Hi, folks.
Normally I frequent the 2600 forums, but I ran across a listing that featured a 5200. Here's what I will get for $50.00:
What do you guys think? Unfortunately, it's way south of me, so the total travel time to this place is 1 hour and 45 minutes. Do you think this would be worth the travel time and the $50.00 expense to get it?
Your thoughts, please.

Just received Star Raiders for the 2600 from Tempest. Packed EXTREMELY well and sent complete. Even the Atari Force #2 comic was in there. Highly recommended seller...quick and easy responses and delivery time. I can't praise him enough....words wouldn't do it justice.

Very cool
Question: How does Stargate play on the 2600? Just curious. Sorry to go off topic, but I've never SEEN Stargate for the 2600.
-
I can see the problem. The RF cable that gets your signal to the TV is not attached to the Atari motherboard!
(Just kidding) Anymore details? Did it just stop working or did it get spotty on reliability? Of course, the obvious questions, is your power supply good? Did you try a different cable? (since you have already opened up the Atari and can see where to plug and unplug the cable) What have you tried already? Hope you get it going! You know, Buck...I actually enlarged the picture and looked for a good 30 seconds...

I guess I don't mind redundancy in some of my 2600 titles too much. I never last long enough for it to get boring, anyway!
Usually by the later waves, I start doing "dumb" mistakes and can't keep my edge to really rack up the higher scores on games like Space Invaders, Asteroids, Demon Attack, Phoenix, and Missile Command. I think my reflexes start dropping off exponentially as the waves go by. Berzerk is another title I keep hitting "reset" on over and over again. It's just a great game. The game manual? Pure genius! I love the illustrations and cross-sections of the robots. Excellent classic gaming stuff.

-
Demon Attack impresses me. The music speed increases and rises in pitch as you get down to the last few birds...er, demons. Has your blood pressure raise accordingly and makes it that much more fun to play..the frenetic pace..ah, what a game.

I would not call paying $15K+ for the lot "such a find".

I would...considering I NEVER see ANYTHING like this around where I live.

-
Welcome, boxes!
Kaboom was never my "strong point" in gaming. Reflexes, hand-eye coordination...it's over rated!
I just am too old these days to follow that mad bomber for more than a few screens. He whips me every time. -
It's one of my favorite games for the 2600. Imagic seemed to be on the "cutting edge" of gaming back in the day, which is why I have to collect ALL the Imagic game titles...complete in their original boxes, of course.
My collection is small right now. 8 boxed games and 19 loose games, so I have a long way to go before my collection is sizable. Space, however, is at a premium, so I have to keep it down (for now).
Well, I do have a special place in my heart for Phoenix. That one rates right up there for favorites.

Excellent. High marks for such a find.

-
Nice find. I have NO place around me that has any Atari 2600 carts "in the wild". All the little stores are gone now...even Hollywood Video is out of business. Only Walmart, Kmart, and Best Buy remain..
-
Great story...thanks for sharing it.
-
I was wondering about that myself...

Ouch, that really sucks. Sorry to hear that, rik. Everyone seems to be out to make a buck today..since when did he join the Ebay rip off generation??
