  1. Wow, that's just one of the most pathetic packing jobs I have EVER seen. No wonder I don't buy anything on Ebay anymore...that and the fact I don't have paypal and most sellers do not want a money order. Meh, their loss. Sorry to hear about this...this guy needs to be packed up without a box and dragged behind a UPS truck for several miles...
  2. None of the incarnations after the original have really interested me. Guess I'm too much of a purist when it comes to Pac-Man..
  3. I don't think I've ever seen one of those around my area. I'm sure they were in place when I was a kid, but I don't remember them. All I was interested in was the games...this is just plain awesome. You have a mighty fine item there!
  4. Got a line on some catalogs thus far, and thank you! Steve
  5. Hi all. I'm looking for a small collection of game manuals/catalogs from the Atari 2600. In particular, game catalogs from Activision and Atari. Doesn't have to be a huge collection (a dozen would be fine), but in fairly good shape. Seems I can't find ANY of my old catalogs and game manuals, and after a complete search, they seem to have vanished into thin air. Please let me know what you have either in this topic or in a PM with a price. I can pay concealed cash or a postal money order, whichever you prefer. Thank you! As a collector, this would be an essential part of my Atari 2600 collection, and besides...I love the old artwork! -Steve
  6. And here I thought I had a line on an Odyssey 2...sniff.. Maybe next time you get the destructive urge, you'll look me up?
  7. The age-old debate on Pac-Man continues for the 2600! If you look at it outside the context of it being an arcade "port", then it's not a bad game! I also like Pac-Man for the 2600...
  8. You know, if you're going to do THAT to your O2, I'll take it AND all the "crap" that goes with it!!
  9. I'm kinda horrible about the games...I have the boxed/instruction/game stacked on top of my TV (I know, I owe you all a picture), and the carts are stacked next to the TV. I need to do some SERIOUS organizing of my man cave.
  10. Thanks, Tempest! Looking forward to the boxed Star Raiders and keypad for the 2600. Will send out money order on the morrow to you!!
  11. Wow, nice! If I had decent flea markets around here, my collection would be a LOT bigger. However, I have one flea market area, and they never have Atari 2600 stuff. Congrat's on a great find for a great price. How often does that type of thing happen, anyway? Does the average flea market vendor not know much of the Atari 2600? And how often do you all get a ridiculous price from someone selling Atari 2600 stuff? Like astronomical (let's say $20.00 for a cart-only...)?
  12. We did, back in the day, just to play Space Invaders. That was my very first game in the late 70's/early 80's I had an "experience" with, and it's still well loved today in my household. Still need a boxed copy, though. I have the text-only version and love the picture art on this cart.
  13. That was a great story, and got me to thinking...it might be time for me to do something similar. My console could use at least an exterior cleaning. It powers up and works fine, and I'm deathly afraid to go inside and ruin something (as I was 30 years ago). The "ridges" are particularly dirty and could use a good cotton swab and some cleaning solution. Thanks for sharing your story with us, and the pictures really helped tell the tale.
  14. Since I've been collecting boxed games, I just keep them with the cart in the box then buy an extra cart for playing purposes. If I have loose, I keep them in plastic sleeves in a 3-ring binder. Seems to work good.
  15. Hi Rick. Just wanted to say "hi" and that I'm around again. How's your collection doing these days? And do you have a CIB of Ms. Pacman? ;-)

  16. The 2x4 is a great idea! Just think of all the hospital visits that would come after...
  17. Urgh...to have the money for the 7800 system...augh..I hate you, Ax. Bump for a great seller!
  18. Glad I have my light sixer already...not sure I could afford to buy another console right now. Although, I'd love a Darth Vader model sometime down the road...
  19. It was strange that the Air Raid auction wasn't mentioned, or that I just missed that part of the broadcast. I thought that the demand for the 2600 had just gone up on it's own, but as you said, it's been pretty stable as far as supply and demand go. Thanks for the information.
  20. Great game, adventure. I need to add that to my collection...I'm sorely lacking it.
  21. Atari 2600 is back in business!!

  22. Great story, and a nice beginner collection. Hope you manage to get a 2600 soon. Have you considered what type you want?
  23. Very nice collection of handhelds! Thanks for sharing with the group.
